Far Away Rebel

To me the strongest notes of currants and salted chocolate are very reminiscent of chocolate covered strawberries. These long scent notes accompanied by creamy liquor, toffee and powdered florals - I get a hint of the original Far Away in the powdered florals, but the blend here is softer and less overwhelming on me. It wears much more impressively than most of Avon's other fragrances; it averages at somewhere between 8 to 9 hours on me. If Lancome's La Vie Est Belle and Viktor & Rolf's Bon Bon had a baby, then that bundle of joy would be named Far Away Rebel; this has quickly become one of my favourite 'everyday' cold-weather perfumes and it is a definite rebuy. A lovely 'come closer' fragrance as it's so warm, comfortable & cozy. I really enjoyed Avon's discontinued Premiere Luxe perfume and this is a fantastic replacement. This seems much more expensive than it is - when Avon has one of their many offers on, you can buy a 50ml bottle for a single figure price!! I hope that Avon keeps this around.

Instant Love . This is a fruity, sweet and gourmand flirty scent . I do not really smell the notes in the normal progression of the fragrance pyramid: I feel a blast of the black currant at first that lingers for quite a while but becomes secondary to the gourmand toffee, whipped cream and dark chocolate notes. This is extremely sweet, so I do not recommend it if you have a low tolerance to sweetness; I am fond of gourmand this type of fragrances but this is almost too sweet for me as well - so I do not wear it multiple days in a row. I think this would shine in cool weather or in the nighttime for a flirty or just fun occasion. Definitely my favourite of the Avon line from the ones I have tried so far, although this is definitely the most different from the original DNA. Performance is my main complaint because I think this is so delicious it should last the entire day, but it is still very decent for what you pay for: longevity of 4-5h and projection within an arm's length. 7/10

What a beauty! Compliment getter through and through! I am not the biggest fan of Avon perfumes. Sure, they all smell nice and pleasant, so they are pretty safe choices as a gift, but the endless parade of simple, generic fruity florals gets boring pretty soon. However, sometimes they do create something special that stands out, and Avon Far Away Rebel is one of those perfumes. I got it this winter for my birthday (no idea how come I didn't review it straight away). It is everything I hoped it would be - sweet caramel balanced with bitter chocolate and fresh fizzy blackcurrant. This blend does not allow Rebel to become immature or generic. While gourmand notes are fairly linear and present until the drydown, the development reveals floral notes. In fact, if you wear it in warmer weather, say spring, the floral notes dominate the perfume. All in all, a wonderful little gem from Avon.

It smells like salted caramel with an added note of slightly sour black currant. I can also detect some white flowers, vanilla, patchouli and ambertonic that elevate this fragrance from something that would smell like a cheap body spray to something very wearable and actually very good smelling. It also has the same vibe as Black Opium. It smells much more expensive than it is and smells like something that would easily come from some luxury brand like YSL, Valentino, etc (not a surprise, though, considering Avon actually hires famous perfumers to make their perfumes) If you let go of any prejudice to this brand that you might have and you also like sweet scents, give it a try. One thing to pinpoint, though - it smells much better if you let it macerate after buying for at least a couple of months

Initially, this smells exactly like those chocolate bonbons that were extremely popular as gifts back when I was little: dark chocolate with fruity liquor filling. I used to hate it when guests brought us those, because I found the filling so bitter as a kid. Needless to say, as an adult with a weakness for gourmand scents, I adore the scent of dark chocolate with booze filling. Once this perfume dries down fully, this reminds me of a much tamer, much more wearable and soft version of Hypnotic Poison, which I personally find super harsh, dry and cloying. Overall, I like this scent a lot. It's gourmand but not super sweet, and not junevile at all. I think it's also suitable for many occasions and settings. I could even see it as an evening scent for a dressier occasion.

First things first, for the price, this is a must. I get the Black Opium or Sound of Donna comparisons, but it's not a dupe. Yes, it's a gourmand-vanilla, but it's its own scent. It lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin, super affordable. It starts really creamy with a not too strong black currant, just enough to make it balanced. Then, the vanilla setlles down and finally we get to the more sweet part, with a noticiable but not obvious chocolate and salted caramel. It is not cloying at all, but still sweet and gourmand. I do not think it's a flowery scent, but it's super nice. I love to layer this with a creamy body lotion.

Fruity gourmand, the lactonic note is pretty intensive from the cream, it smells like a forest fruit milkshake in the beginning. Then the orange blossom comes in, along with sweet notes from the vanilla and the caramel. i actually like the dry down of this. It transformed from a girly teenage accent into something more deep, sweet, patchouli and Amber - y. ....overall, it Is fruity, sweet and gourmand. I like it, i think its is perfect for end of summer and fall.

It's very positive and sweety fragrance. Whipped cream, candy, chocolate... mmm! It's amazingly delicious, but not cloying! Similar to YSL BLack Opium and Trussardi Sound of Donna, but Rebel has its own features. It's very worthy scent by Avon. Longevity and sillage is moderate, but it's a pleasure to reapply it during the day and inhale this yummy scent. The bottle is great as well!

How much I adore this frag! I was looking for smth like that for long. I was affraid of sweetnes but is is very wearable. I smell mostly blackcurrant and cacao with gorgeus aquatic fresh tail. Sillage is very noticable and longevity id very decent. It gathers a lot of compliments, men like it. I feel feminine and sexy and also cozy in Rebel of Avon. Very good job. Cheapie goodie.

Avon makes great perfumes. This one is one of the most beautiful, thick, warm, toffee and cream, a gourmand scent. I love wearing in autumn and winter on a dry day. It’s a bit fruity at first but ends up warm, sweet and creamy in the end. The colour purple really suits this scent. One of my favourites, i tend to prefer this one over some of the designer perfumes I’ve used.

This perfume was an unexpected discovery for me, yet a great one. Avon has some perfumes that last A LOT, and this one is one of them for sure. I wore this scent a lot in fall/winter 2024, and it is such a cool and unique fragrance. Would love to rebuy this one after I finish my bottle. 10/10, no complaints.

An absolute corker from Avon, one of the best fragrances I've tried from them since Treselle. It has a Black Opium vibe going on but I wouldn't call it a dupe, just a vibe. Doesn't last incredibly long on the skin but is cheap enough to keep re-spraying. I much prefer it to the original Far Away.

Love love love!! I just love smelling this..Very beautiful. There is something expensive and pleasant in this perfume. It is kinda lasting for me but after 3 hours the sillage is very soft. I really wish the lasting power was better. Anyway the price is extra good and is worthy. Bravo Avon!

Smells like a cream to be honest smells like a lotion cream doesn't really smell like a fragrance if that make sense lol I smell a creamy toffe chocolate tart and a bit of berries . Very gorgeous smell very gourmand

I adore this. Cheap but smells so exotic. Stays close to the skin but i can smell it 9 hours later. I always have it in my collection.

I simply adore this scent but it lasts 2 hours max on me Can anyone recommend me a long lasting alternative, as similar as it can be?

Just reviewing this again because since I bought it after having tested it first 2 weeks ago, I find it even more interesting now. I don't think this is a dupe of Black Opium EDT. It definitely isn't a dupe, but I can understand why people compare it with that one. The quality of the blackcurrant accord is so good it smells as expensive as the one in Black Opium EDT. It's outstanding. Now, if it isn't a dupe, what is it then? Rebel is a modern reinterpretation of the original Far Away. When I smell this fragrance I can still detect the original Far Away as a core scent. Yes, it is indeed there. The distinct peachy freesia accord is there. I guess for some people, this may play a big 'love it' or 'hate it' role while trying Rebel. But guys, don't be scared if you don't like the original Far Away. There still are chances that you fall in love with Rebel since I do think it makes honor to its name: it's 'rebelish' compared to its predecessor. This one is a modern, juvenile, sweet/sour gourmand which is not as remotely overpowering as the traditional one you can label as a 'granny' scent (not referring to them as something bad -I love many of those classics in fact, original Far Away included-, but you know, I'm talking about a fragrance with a monster sillage and longevity typical of the 1900's). Rebel sticks to a decent, not annoying arm length sillage and a nicer fragrance that you can smell and say: 'Oh, this one was released recently!'. That's what I'm talking about. I have always found difficult to describe fragrances, but I'm trying to do my best here so you can have an idea of what you'll get (if you blind buy) or test if you're curious: >If you know the traditional Far Away: Recall that scent and make it softer, just keep freesia and peach as your base, keep them friendly, not loud. Then, add crème de cassis, recall its sweetness and sourness with a hint of chocolate (like a sparkle, delicate), and just imagine that you're having a drink of it close to an orange tree with all its flowers in bloom. >If you don't know how traditional Far Away smells like: You're having a drink of crème de cassis in a garden full of freesia flowers and orange blossom, and you can smell some chocolate flavored with toffee syrup that comes from a coffee shop nearby. Keep all that balanced. The main protagonist is the crème de cassis. It's a nice gourmand you can get for a good price. A well done 'cheapie' that doesn't smell synthetic and that you can enjoy.

I came for the salted caramel and stayed for the rebellious soul. It is a cheapie, don ́t expect too much. Also, it is an Avon perfume, so mass appealing, nothing niche. But in the Avon category, it is a good one. The first spritz is like a punch in your face, a lot of black currants almost unbearable for me. When it calms down, it ́s a nice mix of black currant liqueur and salted caramel. It ́s not balanced perfectly. I wanted the salted caramel, but that note is a little too weak. Longevity is about 4 hours and, I smell most of the salted caramel at the end. That means, when I start to enjoy it the most, it ́s time to respray it, and then the black currant overwhelms the caramel again. So I wish for a bit more salted caramel and a little bit less of the black currant lickerish note. This perfume is a little bit rough, not smooth, not blended to perfection. But for some strange reason, I like it for that. If you ́re familiar with the far away collection, please note this one is the furthest from the original (in my opinion). All of the Far away perfumes share the same DNA in the dry down, but I couldn ́t find it in this one. I am currently using my third bottle. Getting a "black opium" vibe, but it ́s not a dupe, just a similar type of fragrance. Silage is not huge, mostly stays around me and I like it that way. The idea that my fragrance fills the room and may be cloying for other people is not a pleasant one.

I'm smelling something different to everyone else it seems! Wearing this today (cold weather fyi!) and although the first spray might have a slight hint of the Black Opium profile, I find this is much more like Cacharel's yes I am as soon as it dries down. In fact, this is what I was hoping Yes I am Fabulous would smell like! Yes I Am smells like a deep berry red, Far Away Rebel smells deep berry purple. Both lactonic berries, one spicy, one not. Avon list the notes with just.... • Top note: crème de cassis • Middle note: orange blossom • Base note: toffee .... and this is pretty accurate for what I smell on card and on my skin - maybe there is a hint of richness and a tiny bitter edge from a dark chocolate note to balance the intense sweetness, but I really don't get much more than that. It's not very floral on me at all, I get more plum than red berries and a big dose of creamy blackcurrant. The Sweetness is more from the caramel than the vanilla and it's not too salty! I normally can't wear Patchouli or anything ambroxin-like, but I honestly don't smell them here so I'm diggin' this one! I also find that Rebel retains the comforting, sweet and cosy vibe of the original far away, but it smells super fruity! I think if you like yes I am you'd probably like this too, and if you wanted to like Yes I Am but the cardamom and general spicyness bothered you, Far Away Rebel might be a great option :)

I am pleasantly surprised how soft this is and I think it could be because of the cream, due to that it seems it could be worn anytime but will have to test that out. It is much, much more lighter than Black Opium, think of visiting family and you smell someone opening a berry cake in the kitchen and starting to prepare coffee, alluring but far away. But don't be mistaken the sillage is there, it is just ... soft and light. In the beginning there is tartness of black berries and cream. Reminds me of the jellied berries on top of a forest berry cake, really yummy and not harsh at all. Then it settles and you can smell the cream and sweet notes - slight coffee, vanilla and caramel in perfect harmony as no note stands out much but balance each other out. I do not feel the patchouli much, maybe a bit mixed in the coffee scent but very subtle, just like the orange blossom it does not stand out by itself. I really love the tart berry opening but that lasts less then 30min and the following sweet cream fragrance is quite subtle and within an hour it turns to a skin scent, regardless if I spray 3 or 6 times - that would be the only downside, I really wish the opening lasted longer as it is divine as sometimes you just want to feel like a berry cake.

This is not available in the Caribbean much to my chagrin....but I spotted a brand new sealed bottle at a flea market today for a price that should be illegal, it was so cheap. This is a nice one. On first spray for a nano-second one gets the original Far Away but after this I smell black currant, some sort of vanilla cream and the toffee? Smells really really good. It's like a mix of Black Opium, La Vie Est Belle, Signorina Mysteriosa by Salvatore Ferragamno. It doesn't smell like an Avon but rather like one of these sweet scents designers are churning out now. It's on par with the lot of them. If this had a designer label on it lots more people would be singing its praises because it is just that good. Makes me wonder just how these designer prices are justified seeing as one can get the same genre of scent for cheap. Longevity is about four or five hours and silage is decent. Two persons said I smelled nice. P.S.... Dear Avon, I really wish you guys would release this in the Caribbean because I would like to order a back up. Why do some scents not get released in certain regions? I am still hoping to stumble upon Imari Fantasy.

This reminds me a little bit of Black Opium, but it's not a dupe. Even though there is no coffee listed in Far Away Rebel, I get a coffee note similar to the one in Black Opium in the opening. With the additional caramel it reminds me of a caramel latte from the refrigerated section. Which is a good thing, I like those. It also has an intense, juicy black currant note and a dash of patchouli. Some people say it's similar to Alien and even sell it as an Alien dupe on ebay, but I think the only thing these two have in common is that they smell 'purple' and have a berry-ish/grapey vibe. I had only tried one Avon fragrance until I ordered a bunch of samples a couple of weeks ago. None of them made me fall in love to be honest, but Far Away Rebel is my favorite out of them. I would happily wear it if someone gave me a bottle and I wholeheartedly recommend it to gourmand and fruitchouli lovers on a budget. The performance is only average, but I think that's okay for such an affordable scent.

I really like this one, and I've had a bottle of it pretty much since it came out. Like with all of Avon's perfumes, at first spritz there's a burst of alcoholic scent, but quickly settles into a steady and sweet scent. I wouldn't call it whipped cream, but with the syrupy blackcurrant it reminds me almost of Panna Cotta. I can actually smell the orange blossom in this one, but it's mild, almost like an afterthought. In about 2-3 hours the top notes fade so they're barely noticeable, and are replaced by sweet toffee-ish scent. I can smell the chocolate only if I really sniff my wrists. It lasts six hours, almost on the dot for me, so if I'm going somewhere I take the EdP Mini in my purse with me to occasionally spritz it again. Sileage is pretty mild, you have to actually shake hands with someone for them to smell it, but is generally pleasant and inoffensive. I usually wear it when I go to events where I meet new people, but it's not for every day.

Did anyone else noticed similarity to Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears? Or is it my body chemistry that makes dark-fruit perfumes smell like synthetic blueberry air freshener on me? Or as if I spilled a blackcurrant liquor all over myself? I am a fan of sweet perfumes and I'd say Rebel is ok. I enjoy plum and blackcurrant mixed with vanilla and caramel, smells so yummy I want to lick myself. Value for money is great, it a lot longer lasting than more expensive perfumes. And yet I don't dislike Rebel but I don't love it. Mostly because it lacks uniqueness. Being non-offensive, perfume is great to wear in the office, especially in fall and winter months. It gives a feeling of warmth and cosiness. Why is it called Rebel? It has more of a sweet girl vibe to me :)

I've been really enjoying this scent lately. The whipped cream and black currant mix is the most noticeable and surprisingly pleasant. I'm not a fan of sweet scents yet those top notes give me the sweet cream balanced by fresh, almost zesty currant. They stay for a while and then fade into toffee/caramel afterthought, rather intimate sitting which is acceptable to me. Overall not a revolutionary scent. The longevity is nice, up to 6 hours on me and much longer on my clothes. It feels cozy like a winter day at home, drinking hot coffee in a favourite sweater. The price is good, quality as well (no alcohol smell!) therefore it's a nice perfume to try on a regular day/evening or just to wear it at home like I do.

At first I didn't think this was anything like the original Far Away but after 3 hours plus its definitely got something reminiscent of it. I agree Blackcurrant is the most noticeable top note and there is a creaminess mixed in. A hint of chocolate is also there, I could detect this almost from the off but it seems to have worn off since. his may be due to the hot weather and my skin though. I find this very good value for money. As an Avon aficionado this is a definite must as it's combinations are more unique than some of the more run-of-the-mill perfumes produced. The bottle itself is quite divine, a cut above a lot of the others. All in all a thumbs up.

I wear this perfume when I’m staying at home for the whole day and I don’t want to use my more expensive perfumes. The scent isn’t bad, but it’s overly sweet. Longevity is outstanding, I once sprayed it on myself at 6 a. m., and I could still smell it very intensively after two hours long dance class at 7 p. m. I stand behind thought that scents don’t have gender and I can usually imagine both men and women wearing the same perfume, but I couldn’t with this one. This perfume is extremely feminine and I can imagine it as a teenage girl’s first perfume. If you are looking for very sweet perfume for low price, this is scent for you.

What a little gem! I dislike the original Far away, but this one is like a mix of This is her Zadig and Voltaire and Viva la juicy. The whipped cream and toffee especially is so much like This is her. However the black currant is very prominent and makes me think of Viva la juicy. It's like the best of those perfumes all gathered in one fragrance. Silage is moderate to heavy on me. Longevity is 5-6 hours.I am wearing this in cold weather right now, but I would try it on a cool spring night out. I like how Avon produce numerous mediocre and generic fragrances but once in a while they come out with must haves like Far away rebel.

This is pretty, and quite true to the notes pyramid. It is a creamy plummy scent with hints of milk chocolate and caramel. It's not salty per se but the creamy-ness is a bit buttery in the dry down. To me it's very much a more subdued version of Zara Gardenia or BS Prerogative, without the sharp coffee notes. 2 spritzes on the wrist lasted a few hours and became pretty much a skin scent. Lovely, but it was hard to get my hands on so not really worth the trouble unless you can get your hands on it easily. Otherwise, there's enough options these days with similar scent profiles.

edit: i let this one macerate for a good few months, and it became so fruity. nice comfortable fruity vanilla scent, with a bit of perfuminess. doesn't have a lot of depth, since this is still an Avon fragrance, but for the price, it is nice. also, don't really get plum from this at all tbh, but it's definitely fruity. it also projects quite nicely and lasts pretty long. I wish they had these in bigger sizes though, a 50ml bottle feels so small. overall, this is cute. it's not revolutionary or that interesting, but it's a nice sweet gourmand scent for a low price.

I get black currant, cream and a honey/syrupy note. I also got a sun lotion, slightly oily note first couple of times but not so much now. It dries down to a hairspray I.e. fresh rather than gourmand vanilla. I’ve actually grew to like this scent more I’ve worn it and more since I stopped comparison with Alien. For me they are not alike at all, Alien is a powerful, projecting jasmine bomb, which I love. This is rather sweeter and I think both should and can be enjoyed for their own merits.

I like it, and the longevity is decent on my skin, although it's more like an intimate scent (I get maximum 5-6 hours). Opens up very fruity, reminds me of a cake with lots of cream, that has a luscious sour-sweet red glaze on top with lots of red and black currant (I also pick up something nutty in the background, and a hint of chocolate). The dry down is nice, a little bit powdery, mostly I smell the jasmine and patchouli, but they are somehow creamy. Overall, it's a nice gourmand scent.

This was a blind buy because I like blackcurrant and everything sweet. I wasn't disappointed! So creamy and sweet, with a soft spicy fruity blackcurrant liqueur. It's such a lively and joyful composition. I've never drunk crème de cassis but now I really want to. Lasts moderately long, dries down to a - surprise - sweet, vague toffee/vanilla scent. Delightful! I don't think the name really fits though, it has not much to do with the original Far Away and neither is a rebellious scent.

OK so I bought it brand new and boxed... Bottle smelt like chemically fishy upon first opening lid. Not a pleasant surprise. Sprayed the perfume a few times and the actual perfume came through (I have NO idea what was resting in the spritz cap initially) fish smell gone, GOOD smell replaces it. This perfume is really nice! Good trail in the first hour or so. I put it on about four hours ago and it's a barely there skinscent now, requires reapplying. Lovely and gourmand.

Favorite cheap perfume - it definitely smells more expensive. It smells mostly of black currant, with a hint of creamy toffee - I mistook it for vanilla before I looked up the notes. I can barely smell the chocolate. This is comforting and sensual at the same time - perfect for a cozy night in and for a night out. I agree with the reviews below that it has a Black Opium vibe - it doesn't smell anything like it, but BO fans who are on a budget will love this.

such a good evening scent and i've been using it both as perfume and body lotion for years. quite a complex scent especially compared to some other avon evening scents (wayyy better than FA glamour, royale, eve confidence). definitely agree that there's a boozy note to it but not in a heavy way, little black dress from avon has a kind of whiskey undertone but this is way more like a sweet and fruity vodka cocktail.

Grape candy scent - must be blackcurrant + plum + whipped cream, but to me this is a hard grape candy. Or a grape scented 80ies fragrant eraser. I really like it, dark fruity and interesting. In the drydown I can understand why ppl think of Black Opium, if there was a purple berries flanker. Actually, this reminds me a bit of the Body Shop Dewberry perfume oil. Great value!

sweet creamy delicious warm scent, black opium is too much coffee compared to this which is more chocolatey than coffee. I overspray, about 10-15 in order to last all day in winter. beautiful shocker by avon standards. I do not like the bottle at all but the colour is suited. I got this because I wanted something similar to YSL Back Opium, but less complicated, easier to wear. I did well, because FA Rebel is exactly what I wanted. I love that the black currant in Avon's fragrance is more obvious, compared to YSL. The rest of the notes are almost identhic, so if you like Black Opium, this is definitely for you!

It is a likable sweet fruity scent. Fruity, creamy and sweet. Notes are not very specific, it's just simple sweet scent. Is seems to be very close to skin, sillage is soft. A nice scent, very suitable for colder autumn months. It would be a good shampoo or body cream scent. I would have loved it when I was a teenager. Likable and simple.

❤️ Black currant with the perfect amount of creaminess and sweetness. Wonderful balance of dark fruit and toffee cake, without one being overpowered by the other. And it stays like that after dry down. This is just an amazing blend, almost edible, safe blind buy if you love gourmands. ❤️

I agree with @socorrosouza: this fragrance is for orange blossom lovers. I disagree with toffee and cream being strong, they're soft and make the scent smell like a slightly sweet orange blossom. It's a nice and safe fragrance if you are into florals. Edit: I like it a lot!

You know what , for the price...this is amazing , it is sweet uplifting makes me think about the color purple.dries down a little fruity a little vanilla with a puff of caramel and salt. Lasts 6h minimum ,if it hits fabric lasts until you wash it. Over all I am impressed.

While it's in a sense 'rebellious' in comparison to other far away frags, no tropical or powder elements to it, it's not got enough silage to be a rebel. I do like the gourmand in this, just wish there was a little less blackcurrant. Very similar to Loverdose

This smells a lot more expensive than it is, with creme de cassis (blackcurrant) being the dominating note. It is a sweet treat of a perfume, a fruity dessert plate. It has a lot of depth and lasts well, being somewhat intense and sensual.
