Field Flowers

I loved this beautiful light floral clean scent as a teenager. It reminded me of L’air du Temp that was my mother’s signature scent. I think I’ll track down a bottle to enjoy the memories it will evoke.

Ok, the next random vintage Avon scent will be...Field Flowers! Ok, another one I never had as a child. Let's dive in! Well, right off the bat, this is much more field than flowers. There is definitely a vetiver in here. The white floral + talc powder "Avonade" is present though. Here's my breakdown: First pipette, applied to wrists, neck, and pits. Hmmnnnn, after testing out the Candid Ultra powerhouse this is much much more subtle. Initially the white floral powder scent hits, but it quickly dries down into a lightly soapy grassy scent. Green grass and dried grasses are definitely here, and a warm note I assume is the "solar" scent. Possibly an extremely light citrus scent is used to achieve this, adding to the greenness. Cut, drying grasses. This is a nice, gentle, "clean" scent. A "white T-shirt" scent. Hour 3: Yep, she's gone. Once again, tiny vintage bottle from about 1983, so I hold out to reapply at hour 6. After reapplication: the florals stick around a tad bit longer this time, and so does the warm green scent. Two hours later and she's gone again though. I decide to forego the bedtime scent, this one is 100% for the daytime. So overall, a gentle, inoffensive clean scent. If you spot one of these in the wild for $5-10 bucks give it a shot, especially if it was kept in box or a darker bottle. I've never smelled Pucci's "Pucci Eau Fraiche" but this is probably Avon's response to it, being time contemporary and you're certainly not going to find Eau Fraiche at the charity shops for $5. (And if you do you should immediately buy a lottery ticket afterwards!) This one is long discontinued, so I'll enjoy my little pineapple glass bottle while she lasts.

I love the "Avonade" term below. I am nostalgic about Avon perfume from my childhood (maybe just one scent, Sweet Honesty), but I know exactly what Cassandra_Lyris is talking about. I don't know if it is amazing, or simply nostalgia. Anyhow, I started collecting empty Avon perfume bottles because they are ab fab. Every once in a while they still have perfume in them. This Field and Flowers perfume is this tiny pig bottle is one of the best. I am planning to wear it on occasion, because the middle and base notes in this still hold strong.

I have 3 bottles of this, different shapes & probably from different years. The one in a cute poodle figurine smells best, probably because it's made of black glass which kept out the light. Definitely woody and green, no sweetness. I smell galbanum. I like it!

Very floral though I expected it to be more grassy. I have this fragrance in a caterpillar shaped bottle! My favorite in my collection. I also have it in a small pig bottle floating around somewhere!

this is in a crown shaped bottle. i received some vintage scents from a local buy nothing group and this was one of them. it starts with a woody floral. i think i smell vetiver? not sure what florals these are either but they're more dusty and dry. i think perhaps i'm getting geranium and something a bit powdery. it leans a bit sour on me unfortunately. this seems primarily like a woody scent rather than a floral one, despite the name! this fades fast on me but it's like a unisex powdery woody scent.
