Haiku Kyoto Flower

Wow! This smells just like Chloe. I had no idea that it would smell like something I already have, and since Chloe is expensive, and Haiku Kyoto Flower isn’t, I’m going to say this one wins. And the bottle is so pretty. And now I see that others have listed Chloe in the smells-similar section! 😄 I’m even getting the sprinkle of peppery cedar that is in Chloe, but not listed in Kyoto flower. The projection and lasting power on this is phenomenal! I am encouraged to try other Avon perfumes since this is my first one. I take that back. I had a small silver deer shaped perfume bottle when I was a child that my grandma gave me that was an Avon perfume. I highly recommend this perfume if you like a fresh, rosy, peony, modern, very clean fragrance profile. Lovely!!💕🌸🌹

This fragrance is so cute!!! Japanese cherry blossom and peony. It smells very soft and light, really similar to Bath and Body Works' Cherry Blossom fragrance--which is super nostalgic for me since my mom always used the hand cream from them. It's super affordable too, I believe around $25! It doesn't smell cheap or synthetic, it dries down with a really nice clean, soapy musk. The violet leaf adds a green, aquatic note to it which makes me think of a pond in a Japanese garden. The bottle is also BEAUTIFUL and makes for a wonderful display. It's cute, youthful, fun, and nostalgic! It's actually pretty strong, esp. for the price! Good sillage and longevity. Easy to overspray, so I'd recommend JUST pulse points OR on clothing.

I believe I got this fragrance in late 2015/ early 2016 and I sat on it for so long tbh. But when I started using it regularly it grew on me a lot, even becoming my day to day scent for the year. It's such a fresh clean smell, and the floral notes aren't too flowery; as someone who doesn't like perfumes to have too strong of a floral scent. This is a great all purpose perfume and you won't be out of place wearing it in pretty much any environment. For the it can emminate 6+ feet around you, but after that it's not too strong but strong enough for others to get a whif of it on you in a pleasant way. I got a few compliments on it saying I smell very clean.

Haiku Kyoto Flower is a very pretty, comforting scent. Soft enduring white musk blended with uplifting sweet puffy peony , a tickling touch of violet leaf and a hint of cherry blossom makes this scent both cooling and gently warming. Kyoto Flower dries down to a definite powdery FEEL. If you find this scent too strong, try it in the body lotion. The lotion is also very long lasting. I wear it with the spray and it lasts forever on my skin until I wash it off. Soft, almost powdery, sweet, but not too sweet, with moderate projection, Kyoto Flower is perfect for Spring. Also great to wear any time you need to feel calm and beautifully feminine.

My favorite cherry blossom perfume, also my favorite of all the Haikus. I adore cherry blossom, I feel so pretty and girly when I wear it: maybe even younger? Here it's done very nicely with the peony, violet leaf and musk. It gives off a rather cottony, slightly breezy/outdoor impression. For a perfume that seems as "soft" as it does, the length and projection are impressive. More of a summery type of perfume, but feels great to wear any time of year. It always cheers me up!

I wanted to add a new review, I ordered this right after I sampled it and I bought the perfume lotion and shower gel. So normally the 50ml bottle is 26 dollars but buy two for 25.99....how crazy is that! I stand by my initial review with it smells JUST like Dior Addict 2!!! Aaaaaand the great thibg is that it lasts so much longer than Addict 2! I can't wait to shower with gel and then lotion up and spray! Omg I will smell delicious lol

Very clean smelling fragrance. I applied this on my wrists, inner elbows, neck and knees and it lasted forever! I can still smell it from a few days ago on my coat and could smell it on my wrist 24 hrs later. It's a very classic perfume smell that isn't too heavy. Very airy scent. It's hard to describe, but I adore it. Perfect daytime scent for smelling clean fresh, and feminine without smelling overpowering

Cotton musk and white peony, all that takes to feel crispy-clean, ten years younger and inspired to go for walk, with or without cherry blossom under your head, creating a new haiku every ten minutes. Instantly likeable little thing this Avon in tender bottle, has charm of times, when you only had two-three fragrances in whole house and been grateful for every modest new-something.

I absolutely LOVE this! You have to be a lover of pink fragrances in order to enjoy this-those who know know what I mean when I say pink, like Versace bright crystal, Dior addict 2, guess woman, moschino fresh (the pink one) this is such a good dupe for all the expensive ones that when it first came out I bought several of them. So so beautiful

if you love florals and aren't picky with scents i'd say that this is a safe blind buy (as it was for me). it's quite delicate and great for everyday wear. i personally love wearing it to the office since it's an inoffensive perfume but it lasts surprisingly well. i also love how the bottle looks on my vanity ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

This kinda smells like chloe love story. I really love this scent, it brings so much memories. I love how it smells when it sits on the skin for like 4 hours. Floral and sexy, it doesn’t smell like an old person would wear.

I can't even believe this...this smells IDENTICAL to Dior Addict 2!!!!! Omg! I got this thinking it would be decent but omg this is incredible!!! My sniffer can't even believe this lol

I love peony, this hits the mark. Pretty with the violet. But alcoholic at first, which is common with Avon. After 30 seconds, that's gone and the peony swishes around me. Love it!

the opening sucks. but after drying down, so clean and soapy scent comes up and cozy musky finale.

@UnearthlyApothecary is very accurate in her description: "It’s like B&BW Japanese Cherry Blossom mixed with fresh laundry musk. Very clean and fresh and spring-like." I'd like to add on to that a little bit more. This is a strong like for me, perhaps bordering on love. It's very office friendly, and one of those scents that is near impossible to over-spray and choke one's self out (looking at you, Tuscan Leather). At the asking price (~$15), I don't feel wasteful / bad about applying 10-15 sprays on my upper body (about half of those while bare, then the other half with a shirt on). I wore this several weeks ago, and on that wearing, I applied this with a very conservative hand (3 sprays total--one in each elbow crease, and one spritz in the middle of the chest). When applied conservatively, I found it difficult to detect on myself less than 2 hours later, and I was very disappointed. I considered adding it to my swap list, and ridding myself of another cheap disappointment. Boy, am I glad that I gave it another shot, and decided to be extremely generous with the application both yesterday and today. When applied very generously (15 sprays yesterday, and 12 today), I was still able to detect it on my chest a full 12 hours later. The scent is really enjoyable, and truly perfect for spring time. It is distinctly different from the OG Haiku, but I like just as much, if not possibly more. I am intrigued by this mention of an Intense version possibly being offered in the future, as this might solve the problem of having to spray so heavily to produce the desired result. Here's to hoping!

The sillage is STRONG of fresh cotton musk for four hours. Then,it tranforms right into a skin scent of light peony. I find that two sprays at a time is plenty. I would have never imagined there to be any cherry blossom if it weren't for the pretty blossoms on the bottle. It does smell pink, however. I imagine that comes from the peony. I smell violet leaf in there but it is hidden under a heavy mask of cotton flower. So basically it smells very much like fresh cotton and white musk to me. Mary Kay has a Cotton fragrance out similar to it. I find young teens to great grandmas, alike, could be wearing this frangrance. Very fluffy and sweet. The bottle is adorable but i don't care for the stopper so much. I bought it in spring and have only worn it twice so far. I like it but am curious how it would hold up in winter because of it's heavy sillage. It's a very feminine and pink version of Egyptian musk!

I bought it because my mom used to buy me perfumes from Avon, and I have a sentimental place in my heart for the brand. The bottle is pretty darn cute, especially in person, and for the price I paid ($20), Avon didn’t do too bad on the aesthetics. When I take off the bottle cap and sniff the end of the spray, it smells pretty similar to Dior Forever and Ever, which is one of my favourite perfumes ever. However, when I spray it, it’s sharp. I think the peony is the most noticeable note and the one that’s making this on the aggressive side (for a perfume that’s supposed to be tranquil, according to the box description). Minus the screechiness on my skin, it is a comforting scent. I sprayed it in my room and when I came back, it was a delicate and calming floral aroma. I’d rate it higher if they found a way to make it softer and more rounded in the dry down.

Let me start off by saying that this perfume is beautiful, long lasting and a very good value for the price. It's a very pretty fragrance to be sure for many lucky people who can wear it. I smell rose in it actually, although not listed. Like expensive rose soap. I am a sucker for rose scents. Unfortunately for me at the first sprays before the dry down which takes some time, there is a note in it that gives me a headache. Maybe it's the peony note that's too sharp on me. Maybe it's the particular combo of notes in this beauty I'm not sure, but I can't wear this and enjoy it. Too bad but for those that can enjoy this fume some lucky ladies out there, this can be signature worthy for sure. So spray on and enjoy.

Really like it. Light rosy scent with clean cotton accords. Not sure why cotton is not listed here. But is listed on Avon's official site. Nice everyday scent. love both Haiku perfumes though, they are very different. This is a lovely crisp floral. It does remind me inexpensive mist by Body Fantasies , Sweet Primrose Kiss, both are light rosy scent with cotton, if you wanna test drive this style before buying Avon. Its dirt cheap ,easy to find in stores... Avon not so much. If you're lucky to find a store or a Rep, otherwise your stuck paying shipping. Doesn't really balance out buying a budget perfume , if the shipping costs more than the scent , lol

I am a bit confused by the marketing of this scent. The name of the fragrance and the graphics of cherry blossoms on the bottle suggest this is a cherry blossom scent. However, I smell no cherry blossom whatsoever. Even the Avon website does not actually list cherry blossom as a note. This scent is mostly violet leaf on me, and a generous dash of peony, and the tiniest hint of musk. I am fan of cherry blossom, so I am disappointed that I can’t smell it here. However, I do like the green herbal aura this has, once I get over the disappointment of no cherry blossom. This is green, cool, fresh, herbal, and dries down to an almost dusty powderiness.

This stuff is... okay. "Okay" as in gets the job done. The scent is pretty (a very pared down version of Dior Addict 2). The lasting power is surprisingly decent and I like the fact that the bottle has a sturdy portable design (it's not one of those situations where if you wanna tote it along with you, you have to hunt down a rollerball version). So it's cute to try and inexpensive but I won't be repurchasing. A little too "meh" for me. Actually Kyoto Flower seems more appropriate for a little girl, it's so simplistic. A starter fragrance if you will.

I bought this based on Perfumeaddict7's review below and I'm very happy I did. It is so beautiful and elegant and I can't stop wearing it! Its a full floral smell that makes me think of a freshly watered spring garden in full bloom. This makes me wish spring would last forever. I also got to test Chloe Love Story and this is VERY similar to it. It's not an exact dupe but it is definitely the same vibe. I really like Chloe LS but I don't feel the need to buy it because of how similar these two are.

No flash, no fluff, nothing spectacular....yet it's still lovely. It seems to be a real crowd pleaser. I always receive compliments while wearing this. Not beast mode but lasts for days on clothes....rather intimate and discreet, yet still detectable. Not a lot of transition going on here, it's pretty linear...but it smells good. I think it's a really easy grab when I don't feel like thinking long and hard about what I want to apply for the day. 7/10

The florals are feminine and pretty. It's a very simple clean floral perfume done well. Lasting power is not the best so it needs reapplication after about 3-4 hours. If you've always wondered what "ozonic" is, this is a great example of that aquatic or damp, just after a rain vibe where everything is fresh, moist, vibrant and alive. Yes, it's similar to Shi because that is also very much an ozonic fragrance. Great summer daytime fragrance.

This is very pretty! I bought this when Avon was having a 2 for 1 sale awhile back. I bought this and Rare Pearls. Haiku Kyoto Flower to me smells like a soft mix of Chloe and Addict 2. Soft sillage a not very long lasting but for the deal I got, I dont mind. Very fresh, clean,pretty, and girly. Prominent notes I detect are peony and violet. Not sure I would repurchase as I like both Chloe and Addict 2 more than this. Good cheapie though.

I got a free sample with a recent avon order.. Nice & pretty fresh floral, but I dont do violets or violet leaf so it is not for me and I dont own anything similiar to compare it to. Sillage seams pretty good for the half hour I made myself wear it, but I cant comment on longevity as I had to take it off. Overall it very good, I'd say one of Avons hits (I always say Avon is hit or miss with more misses than hits) Just not one for me.

Been wanting to try Kyoto Flower for awhile now so I decided to blind buy a bottle from Amazon. Upon first spray I was put off by a brash smell of alcohol, but after I allowed my bottle to sit for a week or two the unpleasantness went away and I was left with a delicate floral that transported me to a hanami festival in Japan. Beautiful, feminine, and fit for a shrine maiden. Quickly becoming a spring staple among my collection.

Peony! No shrinking violet here, just peony front and center. There is supposed to be musk in here, but I can't find a trace of her. One spray and there is little Ms. Peony jumping up and laughing, "Notice me!" None of the other notes listed stand out at all. Not a bad scent if you like a floral. Sillage is moderate, then close after a few hours. This would make a great workday scent or young girl's first "grown up" perfume.

The bottle is so cute and the atomizer gives a good strong spray, I would like this even if it was a little sickly sweet or cheap smelling. But it’s really nice!!!! It’s a nice clean peony, with an almost undetectable violet leaf which gives it an ozonic edge and keeps it from being basic. Plus I love a laundry musk base. Lovely clean office friendly scent with such a cute flat cute bottle.

The rose is noticeable but subtle, and the other florals brighten it up and clean it up. The powderyness is ladylike and sophisticated and clean. I use it sparingly as a work scent since it lasts a long time. I get surprisingly a lot of compliments on this. Very elegant and smells like it might cost more than it does. Unique but maternal and familiar. Great for spring.

I received my gift set of this yesterday and now i know why i like it so much it is very similar to harajuku lovers love which i have and i sprayed both and compared and they are similar but kyoto flower smells more flowery but they are both nice i am wearing kyoto flower lotion now with clinique calyx and its a good combination believe it or not lol.

A simple, delicate floral with a prominent cherry blossom note. It's very tasteful, soft and fresh. A nice, clean fragrance for daytime wear during the warm and hot seasons. I'm always in search of appealing cherry blossom perfumes, and am happy with this blind buy. It's certainly more wearable than some of the niche fragrances I've tried lately.

Kyoto flower is a really nice floral scent with decent staying power and sillage. Upon initial spray, I smell a lot of rose and powdery violet leaf. In the drydown, I smell a lovely light floral with a fresh edge like nice rose scented soap. I would recommend this for spring and summer.

Smells just like radiant by Drew Barrymore (which I own). I love this stuff, My Avon rep is the best she gave it free (she frequently gives me free things) message me if anybody wants a great Avon rep!

For me, it smell quite similar to Hollister Gilly Hicks Blushed Eau de Parfum, that I couldn't find here in Fragrantica, that has peony notes. Although Haiku Kyoto Flower is tamer and less sweet.

Very pretty scent! It's light enough to wear to the office, and I assure you will get plenty of compliments through out the day. I also love the price point of this fragrance.

Reminds me of Be Delicious Blossom. Lighter and soapier. The top notes can turn sour in vintage bottles ( just like Be Delicious). Nice but boring and a little too much like liquid hand soap. My Haiku preferences: 1. Reflection 2. Original 3. Kyoto 4. Sunrise

While this is not my preferred scent profile, this is a perfectly fine fragrance. Quite aquatic, fresh flower. The cherry blossom is prominent. Very easy to wear.

I donated it to my niece. It has a clean, light, child-friendly vibe.

I purchased this blindly due to the rave reviews on this site. I hate to dissent, but I think this is only "okay" and not great. Sure, it smells pretty, but it's just not my favorite type of fragrance. I work this to work today. It started out strong then faded to something inoffensive after an hour. By 4 hours, I could only smell traces. Since I work in the medical field, I don't want anything strong or too annoying, but I was hoping for more longevity. This is on the low end of medium for me. I wish the musk was stronger. I mostly get peony from this the entire time I wear it. I don't have any of the Chloe fragrances and I don't particularly like them, but for the low price, I figured I didn't have much to lose. I wasn't expecting this to be slightly reminiscent of Elizabeth Taylor's Violet Eyes because of the rose/peony similarities. Overall, if you like Chloe and peonies, I think this would be a great choice for you. If not, try a different fragrance. UPDATE: I now own miniature bottles of every Chloe and flanker and I don't find them similar to this fragrance at all. You could definitely not pass this off as a Chloe. However, I'd still recommend it if like oriental peonies.

Imagine you are in the home of an older caucasian lady who makes a lot of great baked goods, prides herself on keeping a nice and tidy home, and probably sprays a little too much perfume than she needs to. That is the vibe i get from this. I bought this thinking if it had favorable comparisons to Chloe EDP it must be decent, but i ended up having to wash this off 20 mins after i put it on as i disliked it that much. Ive read other reviewers say its a bit better after the dry down, but i couldn't tolerate even two sprays. Initially it has a bit of the hair spray scent, but that fades quickly into a quite overpowering floral (maybe blossom?) scent. Very powdery. Nothing like Chloe EDP, which is balanced, refreshing, and clear. up for swapping if anyone is interested. I also have the "Intense" version of Kyoto Flower which is a more recent formulation, but i can't imagine that being okay for me.

unfortunately, this one seems to have two clashing profiles in one bottle. the top notes are gorgeous, but theres this undercurrent of something sharper and peppery, almost plastic, which i really detest. it smells like its bad for me. i would almost describe it like if you washed some clothes with a piece of plastic in the pocket and it melted in the wash. clean and crisp florals with an undercurrent of Harmful Fumes. i used to really like this scent and i only just got a new bottle, so im not sure if its just me and my taste changed drastically, or if this has been reformulated or my bottle is old. i bought it direct from avon, so it shouldnt be bad. ill be keeping it for the nostalgia factor of the bottle, but i avoid spraying it.

This perfume is way too strong, the florals are so heavy it's sickening. I got a sample of this from my Avon rep and while it was strong at first, I thought it would let up a bit as time went on. I can see it being a pretty scent as it fades, but the problem is that it doesn't. The green scents of Haiku are there, but this synthetic violet scent is just way too heavy and doesn't mellow as time goes on. After about an hour, I started feeling just sick to my stomach, like I was sitting in stench. I had to scrub it off.

If this is your thing, awesome! It's just too floral for me. My mom gave it to me when it first released, and I held onto it for years, only just decluttering it recently (about 2 years ago) because I knew I would never use it again after trying to like it multiple times. If you like extremely forward florals, this is for you. Peony and cherry blossom are all I get from it. I don't like the original Haiku much better, but this one is lighter and less "mature." The bottle is adorable!

Blind buy- very strong. Smells like something an older woman would wear...or someone who would host an mlm Tupperware party in the Midwest. Overwhelming powdery floral for my taste. If anyone wants to swap let me know.

Real cheap smelling, you get what you paid for. Use nothing at all is better than use cheap, chemical perfume.

I can hardly believe that I got to test this fragrance BEFORE the release here at Fragrantica..... But it's true! Quite by chance, I was able to sample many Avon fragrances just the other day. Haiku Kyoto Flower came as quite a surprise to me, as I had never seen it in any Avon brochure. Such an adorable bottle and good advertising campaign! That said, it's not the sort of floral I typically enjoy. Too much peony and violet leaf, as all the "modern" florals seem to boast. I love florals, but not something so cool and fresh as this, without any sort of either warmth or distinction. No criticism intended to Kyoto Flower, since I'm not a fan of the original Haiku either! This seems to be a good fragrance for those bothered by strong scents, as well as those just entering the world of florals. Besides, it's the perfect antidote to the extended winter we seem to be having right now. Springtime Anticipated! Far more interesting than Avon's other new release - Instinct for women. I would choose Kyoto Flower as a gift long before Instinct, as the former at least has a recognizable Cherry flower note. Many people can identify well with the ubiquitous Cherry Blossom scents put out by practically every bath product company. Kyoto Flower boasts a slightly different take ( courtesy of peony and violet leaf ) on this classic, modern theme. In contrast, Instinct merely smells like a fresh, green shampoo. Good shampoo, but shampoo nonetheless. Conclusion ~ Good job, Avon! Four stars. Next time could you PLEASE come out with a richer floral, minus the violet leaf and peony?????

I love the original Haiku and was excited to try this when I got a sample (the tiny packet with a swatch of soaked fabric) from my Avon lady. Alas, this is a very floral-floral--way too heavy for my taste. It's a "Bright Crystal" wannabee; that style of shrill, sharp, very "perfumy" perfume, but without the citrus of BC. It's like soap and hairspray, and a nondescript very loud floral note. I love Japanese Cherry Blossom by BBW, but this is not the same floral note to my nose, not at all. I kept it on for about 2 hours and it did not change, did not soften, did not evolve at all. I had hoped it would mellow into my skin, as musk is listed and the original Haiku does develop nicely over time. I finally scrubbed it off, rather than waste more time on this uninteresting and very loud fragrance. I will say, it has strong sillage and longevity; even after a scrubbing with soap and water, it lingers. I would only recommend this for someone who is a whole-hearted floral lover, who appreciates a strong perfume; even then, I would suggest not making it a blind buy.

I LOVE this perfume! It's very long lasting and strong sillage. Be careful not to over spray because it can turn sharp and burn your nose. I made that mistake yesterday..because this perfume gets stronger after it settles on the skin I sprayed myself to much and then had a burning nose for a couple hours. At first spray it reminds me if a mix between chloe and chloe love story, abd what amazes me is that i paid 130 dollars for chloe love story and it doesn't last more than an hour on my skin, this stuff was still beautiful and evident this morning! After a few hours this starts to smell like pleasures and lucky you. I smell stephanosis (the wedding flower) not sure if i spelled that right lol, but it's not listed in the notes. It doesn't warm up or change much but stays strong, a little spicy like carnation or pepper could be in it. My husband loves it on me. It does not have the "avon dna" . This is a perfume i will be buying more of, it'll be great in the summer, I'm glad that i found this treasure.
