Haiku Sunrise

I ordered Haiku Sunrise because I heard it was different than most Avon fragrances. Of course, I was compelled to try it. The bottle is really cute. It's the same style as the others in the Haiku line except that it has a soft orange top. I'm not a fan of the color orange but it looks nice and catches my eye each time I look at my fragrance shelf. At first spray, I didn't know what to think. It was different. It wasn't overwhelming and quite intriguing. There's something "green" to it in the beginning but not horribly bitter. As the day went on I kept getting whiffs and started finding it really enjoyable. The next day, I could easily detect it on my clothes and it had settled into a gorgeous summer aquatic bouquet. The longevity seems to be pretty good for an inexpensive price point. I'm impressed. I'm not sure what note (or chord?) makes this fragrance positively stand out for me. Is it the rhubarb, perhaps? It's not the typical Avon fragrance profile and I'm very happy to have found it. If you're curious about Haiku Sunrise - go ahead and try it. It's inexpensive and, if it doesn't vibe with you, pass it on to someone who enjoys it (like I do). Update: I'm on my second bottle of Sunrise - I'm thoroughly addicted. This is not just one of my fav Avon perfumes but one of my top favorite perfumes of all time.

Haiku Sunrise:1/5/24 I am a longtime Haiku wearer and any time there is a Haiku Flanker, I purchase it blindly and have never been disappointed. Sunrise was released in spring for summer but I set it aside and decided for me, it is a winter scent as it is strong on the cedar. I love Lily fragrances for warmer weather and cedar fragrances for cooler weather to match the scent of my sweaters and scarves I store in my cedar chest. Sunrise reminds me of Bath and Bodywork’s discontinued “Pink Bamboo and Lily.” Sunrise has woody Zen quality to it. All the Haiku flankers have that “Zen” vibe. I wear sunrise layered with Bath and Bodywork’s “Hello Beautiful” lotion or a generic aloe Vera cucumber scented Jergen’s lotion.Sunrise is like a saltier, woodier less soapy and less laundry sheet version of Violet Eyes, which is heavy on the cedar but also soapy. With Sunrise, I get a relaxing cedar wood and unisex citrus scent. The sillage is close to the skin. Simple and beautiful. I wish it was not discontinued but that was expected.

Sunrise is my favorite Haiku fragrance ever! I always liked the original as a light classic scent but had grown weary of purchasing flankers in hopes of finding another hit. Honestly, I mainly only purchased them when they came as part of some Avon bundle too good to pass up or when I needed to go over minimum for free shipping. But they are all pretty forgettable to me. Enter Sunrise, which I purchased to, well, qualify for free shipping. I was in no way prepared for my immediate delight upon first spray. The initial burst of scent was pure marine on me. Beachy, oceanic fragrances are a favorite of mine! Swiftly after, the fig came in strong with the woody note presenting just beneath. A half hour in, Haiku Sunrise is predominantly a dirty, woody beach hippie fragrance on me dominated by fig. Sometimes, I find fig to be too earthy and dirty for me, but this gives me the same type of bohemian beach vibes as Loewe Paula’s Ibiza. Haiku Sunrise is an amazing bargain scent that is right up my alley. I recommend it.

I smelt this fragrance in a Avon magazine at a diner for breakfast, the first few sniffs smelt very very nostalgic, it took me a moment and then my mind instantly went to a memory i had when i was a kid. It smelt like the lobby of a hotel in vegas i went to on a family trip, it’s definitely a memorable and nostalgic scent and i really really enjoy this fragrance. Although im not sure if i’d wear it since it smells sorta mature for my age, its 2000s vibes for sure and i think later on I’ll consider buying it someday

Really nice! I've wanted to get into the Haiku line and I smelled this at the Avon boutique at the mall and fell in love. It's coconut forward and summery, but the other notes support so nicely that it's appropriate for year-round wear. I don't get watermelon specifically, but it has some greenness or a watery quality like other reviewers have mentioned. Yes, I could see this on a man, too. Slightly reminiscent of Cloud Pink, if you like that one you might like this, too, as I do. A total winner for $15.

Just a short review to help anyone out who is thinking about blind buying a bottle... Like I did. lol From the notes, I thought this would be a nice, summer day fruity/woody fragrance, but I was wrong. This is more of a summer evening, spicy/woody turned woody/aquatic scent. I don't detect any fruit whatsoever. All I get is black pepper and cedar at the start, leaning masculine. Definitely an interesting, discordant mix in the middle with the marine notes added to the opening, but it doesn't last very long before the dry down brings cashmere woods and the black pepper fades. The dry down is soft, comforting, and unisex. It lasts for a few hours with an intimate sillage. Not a wower, but worth it to wear for yourself if you can get a bottle for under $15.

To my nose, this has unexpected similarities to LV Pacific Chill, except with that amber blast that's present in all cheap perfumes these days. It's a shame. More specifically this reminds me of the ME Pacific Chill knockoffs, which also have that scent. If you are more tolerant of that chemical and like Pacific Chill, you might give this a try. It's completely unisex.

This is now my favorite Avon fragrance, and the brand is cruelty-free again, win! I am with you, Jetpet! I have tried a lot of Avon scents over the years since a good friend sold it. This one is not Avony-sweet and smells similar, I swear, to Donna Karan's Wild Fig & Cashmere, likely due to the top note of fig + cedar + cashmere + marine. My caveat is that I have been fig crazy for about a year and will try anything with fig at the beginning. I don't get the coconut water but do get the hint of watermelon and a biscuity doughiness which I love in fragrances such as Light Blue. The bottle is cute with the cheerful orange pagoda top, and whoa will that well-fitted rubber cap keep this stuff from evaporating. Price of a body spray, less than $20 for 1.7oz. Have not worn for a full day yet, so there is probably limited longevity. Recent offering, so I hope it will be around for a while. Wish I could get lotion and shower gel. Great scent for any gender.

Probably my most disappointing perfume purchase including among other Avon scents. I'm hoping some maceration will make this scent work, and perhaps bring out the rhubarb and fig, because right now I am just getting 100% 'marine'. And its certainly on the chemically side of aquatic scents, so it's not exactly pleasant. I'll revisit this review if that changes!

I get compliments every time I wear this! Fresh, surprisingly modern. Could be unisex - fresh aquatic, woody, musky. Light on the florals. Not heavy yet great longevity. Difficult to describe, this is unlike any other Avon fragrance. Beautiful.

Ahh, this is a disappointment for me. It's not a bad fragrance, it's just a very short lived and rather "flat" green fig fragrance. Not as sharp as traditional fig... but still boisterous.
