Here's My Heart

I first came across this wonderful scent when I was a very young girl. I was always in the hospital because of my really chronic asthma. But I always remember the nurses that would come to check my vitals and the oxygen tent. Whenever they checked my pulse I’d watch the classic timex watch and the fragrance was not overwhelming. It was so pleasant and comforting. I told the nurse how good she smells and that’s when she told me it was Here’s My Heart. On the day I left, that same nurse gave me a beautiful blue bottle of Here’s My Heart! I sprayed a little in the pretty white top and everyday I would open the bottle and smell the soft fragrance. When I was a little older I would use it everyday. And ever since then I always had this cologne the powder and the soap until it was discontinued. I no longer have the fragrance but I do have a scented bar of soap that I would smell from time to time. I just loved the powdery fragrance. To bad I didn’t know that Here’s My Heart would be discontinued. If I’d known I would have bought a closet full of it.

I love this for a slightly different reason: this is the scent my grandmother wore for years. The scent itself is pretty similar to Coty L'aimant, but it is softer and less in-your-face. After a while, a smoky note develops that L'aimant doesn't have. It's a bit difficult to talk about the fragrance since I'm working off a vintage bottle and cannot be entirely sure it's reflective of the fragrance in its heyday. This is a very 'old' style scent and not something that would probably go over well today. I like it because of the associated memories. Definitely not a summer scent as it would become too overpowering, I think.

I absolutely adore this fragrance. It has become one of my all-time favorites. I have always loved "grandma" scents, but I can't help it. So beautifully clean and floral, the scent reminds me of a really lovely-smelling bar of soap I would find in my grandmother's house that's been left in its box since the 80s. The powdery notes in this make me feel so fresh, and I find myself sniffing my wrists over and over again.

I have an OLD bottle of this from a perfume lot my girlfriend bought at a flea market. So old that the perfume has turned red over time and the topper has disintegrated a bit! The green notes are still quite present now, and the perfume smells a bit like incense to me. I really like my bottle- no clue if I would like the scent as it was actually intended, but I’m still giving this one a “love!”

I've been in a floral craving cycle lately. Probably because it's been cold for southern CA and I'm looking for signs of spring. I wore floral scents the last couple of days. Last night before heading to bed I did a comparison of some floral perfumes I love. One arm had a dot of Avon Honeysuckle perfume oil and a dot of Here's My Heart. The other arm held a dot of Hawaiian White Ginger and a dot of White Shoulders parfum. They all smelled lovely but interestingly, Here's My Heart stood out. I'm going to pick a day and wear it as my fragrance. Old fashioned, powdery yet with the depth that holds up in vintage formulas, and that many newer fragrances lack. I remember the name of the perfume from childhood musings through mother's Avon books, but I don't really remember smelling Here's My Heart from the past. I think it's one that someone gifted me with. It was most likely in a box of many fragrances bought at auction. Lovely powdery fragrance for lover's of vintage perfumes to sniff out!

Powdery and sweet. A little soapy. Something woody comes through after a few minutes, making it a little more interesting. I wasn't sure I'd like it until the base notes started developing. Now I do. This is another Avon cologne I'm sure I smelled when I was a child. It's possible it's reminding me of others I've smelled in the years since, though. I'm trying to remember what they were. Tresor? Maybe just a bit. It's familiar, but not enough to make me feel like I'm wearing the twin of a fragrance I used to know well. I was lucky enough to find a bottle in the shape of a cat in the "loaf" position that had never been opened. It still had the foil seal intact! The way it's developing makes it clear that kept it fresh. This is one I would have dismissed based on the first few minutes on my skin. Given time, it's turning into a more mature soft, powdery scent that I will definitely enjoy.

Starts off as a frightening burst of sharp aldehydes. After a few minutes though, I get crisp, powdery iris backed by verdant woods. Very plush, and while it is "old-fashioned" it is in a "boudoir-ish" way. I quite like it! This one actually struck me as similar to Prada's Iris perfumes (though it does not at all smell the same) as they are powdery green frags, that are unusual compared to today's fruity-patch-floral cocktails. Very elegant, and even though mine is an EDC, it packs a punch!

Simple white powder. A little sharp, a little bright, a little spicy. I like it. It definitely has that dated Avon smell, and in the bottle it smells completely fearsome thanks to the aldehydes, but on the skin it's very soft and comforting.

I was able to get my hands on a vintage Avon sampler kit- the card describes Here's My Heart as "Warm and sentimental... a floral nosegay (yes, really, a nosegay), rich woody accent, and the breath of fresh mosses"

Wasn't when it was released but, dried down, it will easily pass for unisex today. Recommended..

Just discovered Here's My Heart, as I had received a looking glass bottle in a lot purchase a while ago, but had not gotten around to try it. I learned some time ago, not to judge a perfume by its label, as in not judging a book by its cover, with Avon's Persian Wood and old lay down bottles of Occur enchanting me. Opens with a misty powder of cold honeysuckle - sweet aldehydes, then softens within a minute or so to a superior vibe of a Chanel No 5 type, with echoes of Joy, the civet and rose are there, but fresher as though there is a DNA strain of Chanel No 19/Cristalle. Then, a few minutes later, the woods appear, still sweetish, but now laced with a tone of frankincense and myrhh, it appears. This is lovely pale honey coloured, carnation-tinged, cologne indeed and the cute, if not clumsy, Alice in Wonderland type bottle - with a real mirror on one side - is very vintage indeed. A winner all in all.

I recently received a bottle of Here's My Heart from eBay. It was in a 'lot' of several other Avon fragrances. I knew this was an older Avon perfume, but did not remember the scent. My bottle actually contains cologne and is in a rather older looking box with the words Scentiments Here's My Heart. I was not expecting much since I cannot tell how old it is, but I really like it. I have had it on now for several hours and love the soft powdery smell I am now getting with some woody and green notes. I cannot compare it to anything else at this time, but even though it is somewhat old fashioned, I think I will try to find another bottle. I can't stop sniffing my wrist, so I believe I am falling for it.

My grandma loves this fragrance but settled with timeless because they stopped making this. timeless and here's my heart shares a similar openings but are two different scents. timeless is a more harsher Powdery semi spicy floral while this is a soft powdery semi sweet very fresh and floral scent. she's gonna have tears of joy when I leave it in her new apartment when I'm done helping her with the move ❤️

Powdery, creamy white soapy and spicy. Vintage like L'aimant or No5 but fizzier and a bit more airy true to life spicy carnation and powdery iris. Reminds me a little of Arden Blue Grass too. What a fab old-school fragrance. I have the vintage Christmas cub bottle from 1987 so can only imagine how great the 57' vintage would be.

I was able to get a little bullet shaped bottle of this vintage lady. It’s very much a vintage floral aldehyde, though I don’t get powdery notes. I do like it, but it’s truly of it’s era, so I won’t wear it much. Gentle, metallic aldehydes with floral notes. I dunno about specific carnation, but floral for sure. Ladylike.
