Her Story has a plot and it amazed me, totally not expected from a new Avon release. Her story opens with great similarities to CK Reveal; I get peppery and salty notes with some tanginess from the bergamot as well as a soft, powdery iris. Probably the vetiver in the base is contributing to the similarity as well. At this stage, I was wondering why many reviewers were comparing it to LVEB, but around a couple of hours + later, there was a plot twist in Her Story, and it turned very sweet indeed. With the iris, patchouly and probably sweet benzoin, I can see where people find the likeness to LVEB. To me, they are still different, but Her Story truly becomes very sweet, which is a major shift from the beginning, the edgy androgynous young woman has turned into a sweet more friendly person. Her story has better longevity and projection than most Avon products, and a shifting story. Good job 👍 Avon.

This is SUCH a pleasant surprise from Avon! I got the mini version (10ml) because I wasn’t too sure about it based on how it smelled on paper, and I was completely blown away by how expensive it smells! I’ve tried or owned many Avon fragrances, and this one has absolutely none of that typical Avon DNA (which, in my opinion, makes most of their perfumes smell painfully cheap and generic). I’m typically not a fan of patchouli, but this one is just so pleasant to me, I actually don’t mind it at all. Definitely getting the big bottle with my next order!

You will know at once this perfume reminds you of another scent... and then I remembered it smells just like Obsession by Calvin Klein, but on a moderate scale. What I like about it is that it does not have these ubiquitous vanilla cloying sweet scent that I am not fond of.

It reminds me LA VIE EST BELLE-Lancome soooo much. I think they are same. Its ingredients so different from la vie est belle, but very similar, I dont understand how it can. Maybe it cannot be my signature perfume but I love this fragrance...

Strongly reminds me of PRADA L'HOMME,and that speaks for itself :) Very interesting,sweet iris fragrance <3 Smells expensive ASF EDIT:The perfume stays on skin for 24+ hours :O

Surprise! This is not a tipically Avon fragrance. Warm, smooth balsamic scent, sweet and powderly notes.

it's identical to Zara LVIII ... in both you can detect the Iris and the Patchouli notes

I received a 2 ml sample, me and my daughter placed it on our hands and we agreed that it is difficult to identify a single note as it is a synthetic mess (like all Avon fragrances). Maybe patchouli I could identify, later I looked here on notes - iris - if you have big imagination - it is partially there, but not natural one like in Prada, Guerlain,... it is synthetic one.

I haven't tried LVEB, but on me this is strikingly similar to Michael Buble By Invitation, except I don't like it as much somehow. Perhaps in warmer weather the floral nature of the notes comes out more?

Opulent and overbearing. Patchouli powerhouse. Best for winter.

As someone wrote here , Herstory smells like makeup . I bought this because i am hooked on iris scent but there are many variations of iris... i thought this would be the dark , mysterious iris that i found in Iris Noir( Yves Rocher) or sexy , almost gourmand iris from Iris Fetiche (avon). Nope. This perfume has the type of iris that smells like a root, eartly, boiled- carrot type. It is NOT a sweet perfume . It is mysterious, earthy, dry , clean . Even though i disliked it at first , there is something here that keeps me sniffing my arm where i applied this perfume. I am a big fan of sexy gourmand dark perfumes but i may purchase this . There is just something almost austere about this scent ..the patchouli and benzoin are prominent in this.

Wow -- This perfume starts with the smells of the ocean air, the salty waves and marine layer of fog as it moves in a haze over the glistening sands of the shoreline. If I close my eyes, I can hear the sounds of wind, waves, seagulls, and see a row of pelicans flying along the coastline playing hide and seek with the clouds. There is a light chemical dance that happens when this is first sprayed, an aldehyde champagne-like sparkling chemistry which adds an effervescent touch to the equation. This is a walk along the beach, time to reflect and gain clarity on life. There is such beauty in this fragrance. It is casual, earthy, natural, and fresh. This perfume has the beauty of a simple piano melody played in a haunting manner on a keyboard or Steinway. There is something in this that touches and stirs my soul. What a beautiful perfume. I love it! ---------- This leans marine, ocean, salty - the perfume family that this reminds me of are some of Jennifer Anniston's beach-y perfumes, Un Jardin En Mediterranee Hermès, Womanity by Muglar; and possibly Ralph Lauren Woman. (I've smelled Lancome's La Vie Est Belle, and this has much more of a marine/salty vibe to it; this association didn't even come to mind although several reviews mention that they feel this is similar. In my opinion, Herstory by Avon is much more marine, aquatic, salty than my memory of LVEB). I really think that Avon's version is one of the best that I have had the pleasure of sampling. I'm sensitive to some overly strong aldehyde type marine fragrances - I will occasionally have symptoms of a scratchy throat; almost wheezing after smelling some of the marine type perfumes. Whatever the issues have been with marine type perfumes, Avon seems to have addressed this - and they have created a perfume that doesn't give me this symptom... so BRAVO to AVON! Avon is definitely making huge leaps and strides with their recent perfumes. I love so many of them! I like this as much as Rare Pearls, Rare Gold, Rare Amethyst, Velvet, Prima Dreams. This could definitely become a casual day wear "signature" - for sure! ------------- Panthere by Cartier - 92% Similar to Herstory by Avon Who would guess, I was trying a few perfumes on - on both arms. I tried this at the same time that I sprayed the new Panthere by Cartier - and oddly enough, they are both VERY SIMILAR - so similar that there is possibly a chance that Panthere inspired the "Herstory" perfume... however, there are slight differences. Panthere - goes more warm - and Herstory goes more marine/salty... slightly. I would say that these two are about 92% the very SAME perfume - and an 8% variation which makes them unique. They are marketed totally different, I never would have guessed that these two would have had anything similar based on the marketing efforts; but on the arm -- they are about 92% the SAME PERFUME!

Interesting fragrance from Avon. Has nothing in common with other Avon scents, but not unique comparing with some other designer fragrances. Reminds me of CK Reveal, a little bit of Nomade and LVEB. It must be the patchouli note. If you like spicy-sweet patchouli this is a winner! Avon's Her Story is a spicy, resinous, patchouli based fragrance, with a very beautiful citrus (orange-mandarin rather than bergamot imo) opening. Cannot detect any oakmoss nor rose notes though. It is definitely one of the best new launches from Avon and I am sure it will get a lot of fans in the future, because of its low price (12 euros) compared with its high quality. Longevity: 6-8 hours.

I am still trying to get used to this fragrance. The first spray to the back of my hand was a blast of .. disinfectant?.Same result with the second spray on a different day. I resisted the temptation to scrub it off and gradually it became sweet, then powdery and kept getting lovelier and lovelier. I will try it in different temperatures as both sprays were in hot weather we have had in the UK in the last few days.

I am pleased to see that Avon finally produces scents with a bit of personality and sillage. It is higher quality than most of the brand's other fragrances. It is a sweet, but not fruity patchouli, with a nice powdery iris note. I also detect the black pepper which gives it an extra dose of confidence. Not my type of scent, but totally a good direction Avon took.

I see many people comparing this to LVEB, however on my skin it smells a bit like Black Orchid for some reason. Modest sillage and longevity, its a skin scent by the 3 hour mark. Got this as a gift, I don't think I would personally purchase this fragrance (tho it's not a bad deal for the money, at all)

Ah yes starts with a cheap trashy sweetish patchouli, the kind they sell at Primark, smells like 4 pounds :) then it smells a bit better, like a woodier La Vie Est Belle kind of patchouli, drying down into a smokier type of herbal patch. Agree with Ulusia.

So I like this but don't like LVEB. Herstory would be a copy of LVEB but for a gorgeous peppery cinnamon note that manages to tame the candy like elements and make this seem much more oriental. Great longevity and sillage too

Hints of citrus, iris, vetiver, and powder. Yes, a little of La Vie Est Belle is in there but can be unisex too because of patchouli and vetiver. A little like By the Fireplace minus the smoky detail.

The bottle is boring but the juice is fabuloussss 🥰
