Honey Bee

Got this today at the flea market for $1.00 Could that beehive bottle be any cuter ? LOL. Nice vintage sweet and innocent honeysuckle smell - very light unlike today's honey / honeysuckle smells that are based on BEE'S WAX for the most part. If anyone gets the notion to start a vintage AVON collection: be my guest. They are all so affordable and very often do not turn. There is a LOT of alcohol in there-- maybe that preserves them ? I leave all my vintages CAPLESS so some of the alcohol evaporates with time. Not 100% sure this REALLY works. At this point in time you probably need to be between 40 and 60 years old to appreciate AVON for the "memory smell" factor . Back in the 1960s and 1970s (and I guess some of the 1980s) AVON was everywhere - especially your AUNTS and TEACHERS . LOL .

Honeybee is a decanter, not a fragrance in itself. Although it commonly contained it, Honeysuckle Cologne should not be confused with the Honeybee bottle. It could have contained a number of Avon fragrances eg. Sweet Honesty, Moonwind, etc. etc. Avon "Precious Doe" is erroneously listed as its own fragrance in the database as well.

Great little vintage bottle. Most come with Moonwind in them, but I was lucky enough to find one with the more appropriate Honeysuckle in it. Thrilling that a fragrance from 40+ years ago can still smell so lovely. Beautifully done floral honey.
