Imari Elixir 2015

I like this one. It reminds me of Trish McEvoy #9 Blackberry and Vanilla Musk which I've always loved. It has pretty good longevity and I could still smell it after sleeping and by the next morning. The opening is sweet berry and vanilla and very captivating to the sweet lovers for that reason. As it mellows I still smell the vanilla and berries but in softer manner. I actually like the dry down stage and to me it is reminiscent of wood smoking on a fire. I bought two bottles for $25. It's a nice perfume for lasting power and it's translation of a berry vanilla musk is lovely at any price point. Thankfully it's accessible to almost anyone at this price point. Good job Avon! Edit: I've noticed that when I wear this fragrance my husband comments something like, "I'm not sure but I think I smell smoke or something." That is followed up by me saying "it's my perfume, it has a smoke-like quality to it." I personally like that aspect of this fragrance. Edit: I am really addicted to this smoky dry down phase in Imari Elixir. Whether it was intentionally created to smell this way or not, it's a weirdly comforting smell. Mixed with the blackberries and vanilla there's an almost matchstick (not the sulfur part) but the smoking wood of the matchstick after the fire's blown out. Imari Elixir was one I started to think I'd goofed up on, buying two bottles. Now I'm so glad I have a BU bottle. Winter snuggle scent for chilly evenings.

This was a massive headache inducer in cold weather. Its now mid 70s farenheit and its so much better! Its tolerable now. This is still dark deep and smoky. I smell berries and vanilla this is incense like. Not my usual style but there's a time and mood fir this. The dry down is starchy smelling to me though if that makes sense. I dont think my chemistry agrees with this. But this is for those that prefer dark mysterious earthy scents but still have a sweet craving.

Lush, wet berries, and sinful vanilla, sexy, ultra seductive, a va-va-va-voom scent, it smells all American and not cheap but young, it smells like a young woman who's already got men all figured out, who knows the way to flick her hair and swish her hips, the way to glance smouldering over her shoulder to make men stop in their tracks. Wow! This one can compete with other high end perfumes. I can smell rose and blackberry, then the orange note comes out. When it dries, the patchouli and amber stick on your skin for a long time. It is underated and sometimes overlooked. I got this as blind buy and did not disappoint.

The second I smelled Imari Elixir on the booklet, I fell in love with the perfume, I couldn't wait for my order to arrive. The second it did, I spayed it on and loved it more. If you're into dark sweet scents that make you feel seductive, you will love Imari Elixir.

Wow this is beautiful!! Such a warm sweet and smoky vanilla. I smell a woodsiness as well. When I first sprayed it I smelled burning wood, but a good burning scent.It reminds me of a more feminine mahogany woods for men from B&BW. This is my new favorite from Avon.

Bought it today. It's a beautiful scent which reminds me of Suntuosa by Ésika. It starts with a fruity blackberry note, followed by rose and delicate vanilla. I also detect sandalwood which makes this fragrance very oriental and feminine. I loved it a lot! <3

A hint of rose, raspberry with Smokey vanilla. Gets compliments galore. Avon had many hits in their recent releases especially with the ladies perfumes. Come on Avon give it a whirl and make a gourmand male fragrance already please.

This is headache inducing candle wax berry scented candle in cool or cold weather. But in high humidity hot summer weather it’s a sexy candy breeze splashed onto the skin! It’s delicious in this high heat! Wear it while it’s hot!

This has everything I love, berries, rose, and vanilla. It is beautiful. But it is very sweet. Could be perfect with something smokey or woody to ground it. But it's nice, for the price nothing to complain about.

Cocotea is right, it's incredibly slutty, I love it, I love it so so so much, juicy berries, vanilla and some subtle scent of eau de slut, add in incense and this is how I am truly meant to smell

This was discontinued in the Philippines. I am very sad about this news. It was my most favorite "dark" perfume and it's cheap. Does anybody knows if there's a perfume close to its scent???

Absolutely gorgeous sweet oriental!!! I still can't believe it's Avon frag!Smells so niche. Probably the most beautiful sweet frag I've smelled so far. Absolutely safe for blind buy.

Spicy, sexy and sensual with a dash of intrigue. This scent has pleasantly surprised me because it has far more to it than I was expecting. Great, especially when it's half price!

With the TTA daydream my favourite Avon fragrance. I don't like most of their parfumes, but these two make me happy. There's some character in them and I like that.

Discontinued in Canada, that is surprising. I bought a bottle when Avon fragrances were still affordable to buy blind. I really like this, no complaints so far.

This perfume is a very sexy jammy jammy Blackberry scent. Blackberries are one of my favorite scents! So I adore this perfume very much.

To me it smells just like Twilight Woods from Bath and Body Works. This is just lovely!

Spicy, dry, mossy with dark, forbidden fruits.

Imari and Imari Seduction have not merely been repackaged... sadly they are also reformulated. In the extreme! Imari now equals SOAP. Very pretty soap, but not much else. Lower longevity and sillage. Imari Seduction is high pitched and thin, completely lacking the balsamic pipe tobacco depth that I love. No longevity and little sillage. Of the three in this 'Imari Fragrance Collection', the new release, Imari Elixer, is the most quality in terms of strength and longevity. Those who love berry centric scents really ought to give this budget thrill a go. Elixer is sweet, vanillic, berry-licious, and also seems to contain Patchouli. Very nice indeed. Among these lovely notes, something comes across as tangy in a stinging sort of way, a note I cannot put my finger on. For me, this note took over and didn't go away until dry down. More than one person told me it smelled a bit odd. I am not discouraged, having tested Elixer on a very hot summer's day. Come winter, I'll give her another go! Recommended for testing. Good Value. <3 Update - I've just smelled Black Opium, and it reminds me of a cousin or another flanker of Imari Elixir. They have something in common that I can't quite put my finger on. Neither one smells more expensive than the other, IMHO.

I’m new to this review thing so bear with me. I’ve had elixir for a few years now but something about it was initially off putting for me so I stopped using it. After letting it macerate for a little over a year(not on purpose I just forgot about it lol), I tried it again and I’m pleased with the scent. When I spray it on my skin, right off the bat I’m hit with the green apple and mandarin notes but to me it’s hidden beneath a slight rubbing alcohol smell. After a while it’s starts to deepen and you get a musky vanilla syrup kind of scent with a hint of something that I’m not quite sure if maybe it’s the patchouli or the amber but I can see this undertone being a bit off putting for some. On paper it’s similar but the tartness of the green apple and mandarin orange lasts a bit longer and when it dries down it’s the same musky vanilla like scent minus the Personally it’s a hidden gem but not everyone might like it so I wouldn’t recommend it for a blind buy. I give it an 8/10 for the overall smell and it doesn’t project very well in my opinion, it’s very intimate.

Whoa...This is probably my most surprising inexpensive find of the year. I've never had much luck with Avon perfumes, much less heavy berry bombs, but this is a winner. Juicy blackberries, rich vanilla/amber combo, and velvety red rose petals. Appropriate sweetness, toned by the rose, enough so to keep it from falling into candy territory. I also get a hint of incense, but not sure from where. It's actually quite seductive and sexy. If patchouli is in this composition, I don't smell it--thank goodness. It then would have fallen into Flowerbomb, LVEB territory and it doesn't. WootWoot! I like patch, but it's been overkill lately. The bottle is somewhat boring, unattractive and cheap-looking, but the juice inside totally makes up for it. Longevity is great, 6-8 hours on skin, 12 hours on clothes, and projection is fantastic! Every time I spray it, my husband asks, "What smells so good?" It reminds me a lot of The Body Shop Smoky Rose...they definitely have the same succulent, berry sweetness.

What a pleasant surprise this is. Imari Elixir is seriously juicy. A casual sniff may lead to a 'candy' interpretation, but a moment longer and I get lots of blackberry juice on a bed of vanilla with a dash of rose. This sounds like some celebrity fragrances, but Avon's rendition is higher quality - more truly gourmand, and not so chemical. For lovers of sweet or juicy fragrances, it's a real arm-sniffer. It makes a good 'poor woman's La Vie Est Belle', with similarities to the Black Opium / Meow (etc etc) family of similar fragrances. If that weren't enough, it also packs a punch. It has decent sillage and great longevity. It also layers quite well, cheering up some of my cooler, more serious frags. Oh, and it's dirt cheap! AU$15 for 50ml. Imari Elixir is currently perched on my winners podium, shoulder-to-shoulder with far pricier offerings. Kudos to the creators.

I got Imari Elixir today and am very pleasantly surprised. This is not bad at all. IE reminds my very much of La Mome by Pierre Balmain. That sweet fruity note hits me right away and stays throughout. About 20-30 minutes after applying the rose comes more to the front and takes on a somewhat peppery aspect on my skin which fortunately doesn't stay for too long as prominent and settles more into the background and in doing so takes off that rough edge and gives the blackberry note a smoother and rounded maturity. La Mome and Imari Elixir both share a vintage nostalgia I thoroughly enjoy. I find the IE to be a bit lighter and more wearable than LM I must say. I have to explore it a bit further but sofar I am really impressed by this scent. I forgot to mention that staying power is very good on skin and excellent on clothes.

I don't like this one very much. Let's say I have mixed feelings about it. Mostly I get blackcurrant, but like smashed blackcurrant fruits with leaves. Then I feel like vanilla and amber comes out and screams sooo loud into the face...I don't get rafinement, elegance. All the notes are harsh, unpolished. After all the noises calm down, I get a fragile innocent rose trying to balance the chaos before... Someone said that this works very nice in cold weather, so I will give it another chance...just for the sake of my beloved rose... Edit: tried it in icy cold weather, and I just love it, beautiful winter sweet fruity floral scent, actually a bargain for the price, cold tames down all the harsh notes in the opening...LOVE!

By the first try I was not impressed. I tested it side by side with Imari Fantasy and it seemed soapy sweet. But then I read these novel worth of reviews of the "third sister - slut" etc.:D and had to try it again with more open mind. And, boy, did I like it this time. I agree to all saying this is dark and it makes you think of "dirty sex" not literally but poetically speaking - it is the mood of doing something forbidden, dark or even illegal, so wear this when you go bank robbing and want to leave the men scared, impressed and strangely desiring after you. There is a phase somewhere in the middle when it smells like fire, burning leaves in the autumn. Very strange and spell binding.

I really like this perfume, and I don't think anyone would ever guess how inexpensive this perfume is. It smells as nice as some of the much more expensive brands. It seems to have decent sillage and longevity too, which I'm grateful for. I'm so impressed with this, that I think I'll also try Imari Mystique, which I see gets good reviews. I tried the Imari Seduction, but wasn't in love with the plum note. I don't think this smells anything like Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss. It's way less sweet than that, and less cloying. Update: I actually think this smells as good or better than some of my much more expensive perfumes. This is a sexy, classy smelling perfume.

Imari Elixir is a tart berry scent. It is not sweet, and it has only a touch of musk. Those qualities set it apart from most other berry scents. Elixir starts and stays strong, it is linear, and it has a nostalgic feel to it. It took several wearings for me to appreciate it, but now I love it! This fragrance is PERFECT for layering under heavier musky scents. It can provide juicy topnotes to stand up to any oriental heavy hitter! If you think you don't like it, wear it a few more times, you'll likely become a convert:)

Elixir is currently my favorite in Imari series. Blackberry, vanilla, delicate rose and ylang-ylang. The blackberries here are excellent, exactly as I want to smell in perfumes. Rose is young and tender. Patchouli and ylang-ylang are soft and delicate.I can smell even the liqueur notes in the base. Wonderful sweety scent. Longevity and sillage is good enough. I can smell the scent the entire day on clothes. The sweetness is not cloying, but tasty and delicate, suitable for hot summer. Good job by Avon!

Imari Elixir is probably the most intense and rich smelling fragrance I own. It also has very potent lasting power- one spray will last all day at least. It is definitely a mature scent, though not quite as "old-lady" as Imari and Imari Seduction. The blackberry, vanilla and ylang-ylang are the stars of the show. While I do like Elixir, I find myself hardly ever wearing it. The bottle is pretty, so it has earned its place among the perfume stash. I rate Imari Elixir 5.5/10.

Unfortunately, while the redesigned Imari bottles look modern and streamlined in pictures, this bottle looks very cheap in real life. That said, I am pleased with the scent of Imari Elixir. It is a yummy berry with obvious Oriental influence. One of the better Imaris IMHO. While no more ground breaking than any previous Imari, for the current sale price of $12.95 USD, which includes a body lotion, well worth the money.

It's a HUUUUGE scent!!!! Beautiful rose, sandalwood, vanilla, some amber and a little bit of natural patchouli. Amazing, loud but elegant, long-lasting, exotic - reminds me of some Tom Ford perfumes. Although Imari would rather wear me that I'd wear her, but I find it totally amazing and I keep sniffing the cap all the time!:D I'm really happy that AT LAST an IMARI perfume is available in Poland!!!

Beautiful scent...a cheapie that doesn't smell cheap at all...happy with this purchase, a little goes a long way with good staying power My first order from avon-far away gold was disastrous. it gave me terrible headache..the smell to me was like toxic, it stuck in my nostrils for hours & I had to eat something with strong smell to remove it.

If you love blackberry or fruity perfume this ones for you. I enjoyed this scent ( its just not "me) I felt like the perfume was wearing me. Very juicy fruity smelling, with spicy smoky dry down. Try the purse size to see if you like.. its very inexpensive

This fragrance is proof that you don't need to spend a fortune to get a scent that is well executed. It smells great, lasts and has surprising depth. What more can you ask for?

Imari Elixir is a sweet scent but this sweetness is like a berry syrup, lasting and sillage is moderate. It little smells cheap but worths what you pay.

Makes me think of going clubbing in the 1980s when we used to sneak cigarettes - smokey hair and too much lipstick :)

I'm going to be in the minority in my review and I certainly don't want to upset anyone who truly loves this perfume, but I've tried it thru hot weather, cool weather and now the much colder nights, and unfortunately, it still doesn't work for me. I'm not one to try a perfume once , say I dislike it and write a review. I realize different days=different results=different reviews. Especially if it's a negative review, I'll try to figure out why. On me, with my chemistry, Imari ELixir turns to a dirty-smelling perfume that becomes stale and dry as an old wooden crate. The notes sounded wonderful but they didn't come together for me. The blackberry, apple and mandarin combine to give a juicy beginning that lasts a good half hour until the unsettling not pleasant sex-in-a-bottle effect begins and the juiciness of the fruits dissipates. There can be a good sensual sexiness to a perfume and there can be a skankiness. This is the latter for me. Initial sprays are true to form of juicy blackberry and apple with a hint of rose, juicy, warm and sweet. It's delicious at this stage. On my skin, this perfume turns on me into a harsh, bitter and screechy scent that I don't enjoy wearing. It's just too dirty and dank. I love patchouli and have worn it for years and years. I realize there are different ways to process patchouli and at times, depending on the way it's "cured", it can smell different. There is one patch that does not agree with me that smells absolutely "dirty" on me. That's where the dirtiness comes from in Imari Elixir for me. I've only noticed this effect in two other perfumes from other perfume houses. Patchouli should be sweet and green. When I read other reviewers use the term "dirty hippies patchouli" I often wonder if they are smelling a patchouli where it has been stored in a manner that gives it a dirty smell. I just wish the term wouldn't be used embracing all hippies that used patchouli as dirty creating a stereotype, because that's absolutely not true. It's how the patch is developed, not the person that's creating the dirty smell. It may be its formulation, but this is sour and medicinal for me. The bottle is a nice chunky glass but topped with a cheap plastic cap that screams shabby. That could have been designed with better thought. Try before you buy.

I was disappointed with this perfume, sadly. The little sample phial I got wore beautifully, but the moment I spritzed myself with my new, full-sized purchase, I knew I was never going to wear it again. It's very sweet on me, with the vanilla being almost all I can smell. It's lasting power is something else however, I could still smell it on my coat after a couple of days!

Smells okay, but makes me cough so much...I was on a bus going somewhere with this on & I kept coughing all the way :/. Smells like a lot of orchids to!!

Surprisingly, one of the best fragrances that I have found while on this fragrance mission of mine. My initial impression on Imari Elixir is that this is in the same genre as the original Christian Dior Poison, which I have always loved. Out of my all of the perfumes in my fragrance collection, this is my favorite Christmas holiday type smell and the perfume that I chose to wear for Christmas 2021. ------- This can be one of those polarizing perfumes because the notes in this are deeper than the cotton candy notes and light water washes that a lot of our perfume industry is cranking out these days. Don't even bother with this if you are NOT into deep jammy berry notes that lean into the mysterious and deeply sensual category. Reading the reviews on this, they are polarizing - probably because the people who are reviewing this are analyzing a perfume that is totally out of their perfume orbit, anyway. Don't make the mistake of giving these opinions too much weight -- because the people writing these reviews are out of their fragrance genre to begin with. You really need to trust those that value this type of fragrance genre. They are the ones that will steer you in the right direction on this. If you are someone who likes clean, fresh, fragrances -- forget it. Look elsewhere. This will NOT be your jam. If you are someone who likes bright floral fragrances -- this is probably NOT going to be something that you will like. --------- However, if you wear berry toned fragrances well, (or love this type of scent for the holiday season) -- you will possibly fall in love with this perfume. A fragrance is not meant to be all things to all people. If it is, then it is probably so commercially crafted that it becomes "blah" to those people who are seeking more of a niche' scented perfume to begin with. Imari Elixir is a masterpiece perfume on so many different levels. I can't begin to tell you how many compliments that I have received while wearing this one. Yes, it will not be everyone's best or perfect perfume. Like a fine bottle of wine, this may be an acquired taste. Avon has really DONE SOMETHING with this perfume. I love that they were able to create something this niche' - and have kept the retail price to a reasonable minimum. There are still some SMART people out there who are looking to add more value for their dollar. This is truly a treasure - and is a perfume that started me on a journey seeking other perfumes that are in this same genre. So far, I have found a few that resonate in this same general tone, but truthfully - I still prefer Imari Elixir. However, because it is getting harder and harder to find -- I have found some other perfumes that you may like in this same general orbit. ---------- Here are some others that I have found that are similar in tone/mood -- Calvin Klein - Euphoria (the original, not the flankers) Ricci Ricci - A little more candle shop, but in the same general orbit as Imari Elixir Avon's Imari Seduction - would be a sister fragrance; similar - but still different enough to justify each one. Avon's Imari Mystique - a little softer, more introverted - but still very sensuous. ---------- Congratulations to Avon for this creation. A job well done! Bravo!

(After wearing this a few days) This fragrance has some very intriguing reviews. At first spray - this goes on extremely STRONG! But after about 45 minutes into this - it caramelizes into the skin and turns into a really nice hazelnut latte type - lemony blend. It is warm - like a cozy blanket and fire for the winter. This is sophisticated, alluring... (could even be sexy - with the right chemistry). I LOVE THIS! It is truly a GREAT women's fragrance! --------- This resonates in the same frequency as the original CoCo by Chanel. It matches the strength and confidence that CoCo has. For this reason, I think that this would be too much on a younger girl (this is probably where the "Jolene" comments were coming from in the Fragrantica.com reviews)- but may really be best for someone with more maturity. ----------- One of the reviews stated that it was like "dirty sex" - and "poetically speaking - it is the mood of doing something forbidden, dark or even illegal, so wear this when you go bank robbing and want to leave the men scared, impressed and strangely desiring after you." Based on this review - at first, I paired this fragrance with the image of Faye Dunaway in the movie "Bonnie and Clyde". But after wearing this for a few days, I really feel that this fragrance deserves new attention - and is not getting the respect that it deserves. ------------ After reflecting more on this - Perhaps this is the type of fragrance that could be worn by the woman who finally makes such a case against the Federal Reserve that the public decides to close it. This is not the perfume for someone who is robbing the bank, so much as for a woman clever enough to end the type of banking structure that has enslaved the American public -- thus ENDING THE FEDERAL RESERVE. (After all the FED is really a private bank that poses as a "Federal Banking System")! ---------- Here's the quote I was looking for - "Bank robbery is an initiative of amateurs. True professionals establish a bank." Bertolt Brecht -------- Reflecting more on this - forced me to see Bonnie and Clyde in a new light. Perhaps they were not just randomly robbing banks - but were doing this as more of a political statement. Could they have even been a more modern "Robinhood"? ---Who knows. Perhaps they were seeing injustices that allowed them to justify their actions. -------- Back to the fragrance - Imari Elixir is decidedly SMART and extremely CLEVER fragrance. It shows leadership, strength, and maturity. It shows a balance of passion and sensuality with a blend of highly skilled business acumen. If this were an animal - it would be a LION. She goes for what she wants - and takes it. No excuses -- No apologies. RAWR!!!!! --------- Men compliment this fragrance as something to buy for their wife or girlfriend. It really is a GREAT Fragrance, like that!

Wow! This is a hidden jewel - particularly if you are someone that enjoys fragrances that have depth to them. This is like discovering a rare new jewel. I had no idea what I was ordering - but just realized that the reviews of this were so good, that I had to try this for myself. Amazing! Love this! --------- At first blast - this goes on VERY STRONG! Give this about 30 minutes to an hour, and the skin draws this in - allowing this to have a much more alluring and sexy quality to it. With my chemistry - about 30 minutes into the wear, this heavy syrup smell transforms into a caramelization of the fragrance. This is GORGEOUS - and MESMERIZING! I'm not being a snob here - but I'm really surprised that this is an Avon scent -- because this wears like it is an extremely expensive brand! --------- If you like deeper Rose Oude, Vanilla, Berry fragrances -- then this one you will definitely want to try! I'm normally not good with blind buys - but this is one that I truly adore! So glad that I trusted my intuition and followed up on ordering this. If the reviews had not been so positive, perhaps I would never have known-- This is AMAZING! Love this! I only wish that Avon had a full line of this - with the shower gel, body lotion, deodorant. This would be a great one to layer. --------- This is very similar to Black Rose Oud by Trish McEvoy (for women and men)... as well as one of the Rose Our fragrances that I've tried from the Tom Ford collection. Yes - this could possibly be worn by a man - or seen as androgynous. The notes are definitely deep enough for a man or woman to enjoy. ------------------ If you really like this fragrance, I would also try Avon's Imari Seduction - which has a similar fruity quality to it. This is far better than the original Imari perfume that I recently tried (in my opinion). I much prefer Imari Elixir and Imari Seduction - to the original Imari by Avon. --------------- I would also buy a purse size bottle - because this starts to lose potency about 4-5 hours into wearing. If you like a heavier fragrance - you'll want to spritz the purse size cologne throughout the day or evening.

Ok..I got this two days ago. You know that song by Dolly Parton that goes Jolene Jolene please don't take my man just because you can? Well imagine the original Imari, Imari Seduction and Imari Elixir are sisters. Ok? Good. Original Imari is like the matriarch, strong sturdy, wise and level-headed. Imari seduction is the sweet middle sister, full of wholesome goodness. And the last sister is Imari Elixir. Elixir is a slut. She doesn't pretend to be anything but. A dark lipstick wearing, fishnet stocking with no underwear under a barely there leather miniskirt, boobs on glorious display, who goes out on the town just looking for somebody's man to steal..for the night anyway, kinda girl. This perfume smells like making out in a hot car until the windows start fogging up and you start sweating, and have to start removing pieces of clothing before you burn a hole into the back seat.... I don't know how they managed to come up with a set of notes and blend them together so that when you smell the end product it invokes a time, a place, a person, a feeling... This is the only perfume I have been terrified to wear outside my home, it smells like sex. And I like it. Oh and sillage and longevity are awesome by the way. Even after doing the dishes it was still stubbornly on my wrist when it was applied about 6 hours earlier.
