Imari Seduction 2015

I have Imari (both new and in the 80's solid red bottle), Imari Seduction (2007 and 2019), and Imagine Elixir (2017). Imari was a signature scent in high School, when I wasn't wearing Giorgio Red. Elixir slaps me in the face with alcohol then tries to suffocate me with bergamot. Bergamot is not always my friend. My Imari Seduction from 2007 was really too much for me - I'm guessing being pregnant was the issue. I steered clear of Imari and tried a lot of different scents. I went from a rural town in HS to more urban locations to end up in NYC. I'm back in Podunk, again, but actually came back to Avon when I found out a neighbor was an Avon Lady while I was in NYC. The Seduction of 2007 is not the one that was released in 2015. There has been a bit of a reformulation, my 2007 bottle has aged well, so I know it's not 'off'. 2007 has much more of the Imari original DNA all up in your face under a heavy, heavy plum and earthy patchouli. It's still a bit much for me, but I'm glad I have it! The current Seduction formula is amazing. This is no Amber floral! She is very much a Chypre Floral with patchouli and the very faintest trace of the original powdery chypre hiding but not overpowering. The fruits are not edible but somehow both juicy and resinous. This is a wonderful flanker that could also stand alone. If you never had the 80's original, you probably won't recognize it in this. My chemistry makes this smell similar to Goldea Roman Nights or Tocca's Maya. This is a rich, earthy plum/dark fruits, rose and patchouli masterpiece that won't break the bank. Most perfumes are pretty linear on me, the opening scent of the pyramid is either nonexistent or lasts 15 minutes on me, with few exceptions. This fragrance can last 12 hours or more for me, and stays polite. You can smell Seduction within arms' length, it lingers as I do, and can remain in the air but not taking over. The fragrance stays on my fabrics for a few days (I wear scarves). To my nose, Goldea Roman Nights, Tocca's Maya, and Nest's Indigo are all in the same family as Imari Seduction. It even reminds me of Love and Sofia from Sofia Vergara. Take out the syrup from Love, and add some more patchouli and a darker plum to Sofia and the similarity is more obvious. I can wear this all year, except for hot summer days. Cool summer evenings, early and late summer when the air is warm but not too hot. So 85°F/29°C with any kind of humidity would make it a bit difficult for me to wear. It's 67°F/19°C in my house and this is delightful. When I'm dehydrated even slightly or if the air is very dry, it becomes subdued and I need to use lotion to help make it last. Usually, I use Skin So Soft Radiant Moisture which really complements and prolongs the scent on my skin. Hope this is helpful!

I had the original (purple plastic capped bottle) Imari Seduction and now the latest reformulation (seen above). I prefer the latest because it doesn"t have the overwhelming (to me) sticky-sweet plum and vanilla notes the original did.... What I smell now is a slightly sweet top note of dark berries that quickly merge with middle notes of dark orchid and a dark rose. Throughout this a refreshing minty 'dry' patchouli note rises and lasts for several hours as the drydown....Imari Seduction p is a beautiful, womanly and affordable (around $10.00) when on sale or from Avon reps on Ebay.

Very beautiful, simply addictive! I can't stop smelling my wrist. It lasts quite a decent time and will fill you with a cozy feeling even if you happen to be somewhere you'd rather not be. I sometimes wear it to bed and it makes everything wonderful! Perfect for day or night, but it can be pretty seductive.

It is a fruity floral scent for mature audience. It is a deep and heavy perfume. I love how the orchid and vanilla give depth to the fragrance. I like it a lot even if some would say that it smells old. It is a classic for me.

i love this so much!! reminds me of the time that my mother gave me one. the scents somehow lingers especially in cold temperatures and the musk and vanilla mostly stands out.

This was my signature scent before Avon left Australia....shakes fist ha ha. I miss it so much its just stunning

The Imari Avon line has fragrances that seem a bit deeper, more mysterious and sensual than some of the other Avon fragrances that I have tried. This line is in the incense family of smells. (After discovering Seduction, I found Elixir... I love BOTH! They are both unique and individual, they each stand on their own, but are sharing a similar mood, tone... like sisters from the same family). Seduction is the first Imari fragrance that I fell in love with. I tried this in one of Avon's sample collections. This wears incredibly well on the skin! The name "Seduction" may be a bit misleading, that word typically speaks of desires and passion. However, this fragrance shouldn't be limited to "date night". If worn with a business suit, this could send a different message than worn with a more alluring, curve hugging style. This fragrance is mysterious -- it is a subtle, sophisticated, sensual type of sexy...but (as some of the other reviews have stated) this could probably just as easily be worn by a younger girl. This is in a similar fragrance note family as that of the original Poison and Alien... it is "purple" -- a berry type fragrance with deeper notes. It has a nice blend of ingredients which ripens on the skin throughout the day. It may have a position in your wardrobe and with your moods. This is a bit softer and less obvious than Poison...there are definitely times when you need to tone it down - and "blend in". After the first 30-45 minutes of wear, this particular fragrance wears closer to the skin than some more overtly obvious fragrances... it leaves a gorgeous hypnotic essence on the skin detectably leaving a trail as you walk. People comment on this... it is often an instant compliment magnet. An hour and a half into wearing this, it is much closer to the skin...introverted. It beckons you to come closer... this is not a fragrance that whaps you over the head. It is gentle, alluring. I'm impressed with the fragrance, and best yet -- this is a smart buy -- reasonably priced. It wears like a high-end designer fragrance I appreciate Avon's values and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their perfumes. I wish that I had found them a lot sooner. People really like and comment on them. They have some of the most commented on fragrances that I have worn. (THANK YOU AVON!)!!!! I love the rich fruity notes in Seduction. The plum, dark rose and warm vanilla emerge first. This reminds me of Trish McEvoy's Sexy 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk for women...it is so similar that this could have been the original that inspired Trish's fragrance, or visa versa. They are close enough to be a fairly close dupe. (Blackberry - is the note that I remember in that fragrance. This is extremely similar, in the same family). -------- I am much more drawn to Seduction and Elixir than to the original Imari...however, if you like this type of darker, more mystic incense type perfume... you should try all three of them. They each have a unique smell. You may like the one that I like the least, it all depends on your own chemistry. They are each worth trying, for sure! -------- Calvin Klein's Euphoria is very similar to this, although Imari Seduction goes on slightly more hushed and muffled than Euphoria - with about an hour of wear, they are so similar that they could be mistaken for the same scent. It would take a discerning nose to tell the two apart. Imari Seduction is slightly more woody, like berries found in the forest. Euphoria reads with a more metal, bright, clear tone to it. If you like one, you'll most probably like the other one also. They are definitely sisters, not exact twins. Some have compared Avon's Seduction to Poison. No, they are much different in expression - even though they may have similar notes and ingredients. Poison is much stronger. Poison and Avon's Seduction may be a distant cousin, but not in the exact same family. I do agree that if you have found Poison to be too strong and heavy - that Seduction may be a good option for a softer, more hushed effect. But they are really two separate expressions. There is a stuffy-ness in the way that Seduction interacts with the air -- almost like an aerosol type quality, similar to hairspray. This is one of the qualities that leads me to put Seduction in the "like" category - rather than in the "love" category. Poison is more of a pure ingredient, and is definitely not "stuffy". Imari Elixir is more of the pure ingredient variety and does not have the "stuffy" quality to it, at all. That is one of the reasons why it is on my "love" list - and not merely a "like".

I didn't buy this with any preconceived notion what it smelled like and I can't say whether or not it "fits" in with the Imari line but I love Velvet Imari so I took a chance on buying Imari Seduction (2015). On first use, I was not impressed. What the scent bought to mind was the 70s, beaded curtains, smoky rooms, heavy patchouli, although I'm not sure why, so I stuck it on the shelf and ignored it, annoyed I spent the money. I pulled it out again a couple weeks later, resprayed and got a totally different impression- berries, a little sweet but not heavy, a little musky but in a nice way. It's not a regret now, but I need to wear it a little more before I decide how much I like it. I only own a couple other Avons but I could smell the Imari Seduction on me longer than the others.

2nd wear. Much nicer than I originally thought. This is deep, dark fruits and resinous. Top notes fade in less than an hour and I'm left with powdery, vanilla incense. I don't get any seductive vibes but it's still very nice for the price. Recommend for ages 35+. Arms length sillage, longevity is 2-3 hours before it becomes a skin scent. For those reasons, I wouldn't repurchase but I don't regret buying it either.

I recently received a small bottle of Imari Seduction in a set from a friend during Christmas. The last time I experienced this was in 2012. For me this has always been my favorite in the Imari family but I do notice their is a decrease in the intensity of this scent. I still like that my nose can clearly detect,plum,vanilla,and berries. Still a lovely fragrance but at a reduction of intensity.

I have had this before, and it does smell a bit different now. The seduction of 2014 seemed a bit sweeter, more fruity on the opening notes. Tried last night from my new bottle, there is a spicier, herbal layer that I quite like. Spillage is average on me, longevity about 6 hours. This is a far more sophisticated scent than it would appear by looking at the notes.

First I get very sharp alcohol note in Imari Seduction. I did not expect that from a plum and orchide perfume! After a while it gets more balanced and vanilla steps in. This is a very pleasant scent but in this heat, 30°C, it disappears in a minute from my skin. I hope this has better longevity in cooler seasons. I like the bottle design in this line.

Not very long lasting or strong. More of a work perfume.

This wasn't what I was expecting but it's pleasant enough. Something upon first spray reminds me of perfumes my great grandma had. It's like a strong soapy smell and then it dries down to a warm, sweet and soapy vanilla. I don't smell berries at all. It's strong for about an hour for me and then the sillage dies down. Lasts on clothes til the next day. Not sure if I would repurchase again, because I'm into sugar bomb perfumes like Pink Sugar and Meow. I don't usually go for soapy fragrances but there is something slightly addicting about this one. Edit: Okay my opinion has definitely changed. Now it's just too much. I can't do it. It's out of my collection. I just don't want to smell like this. It's too heavy and soapy. Spraying on a teeny tiny amount might make it okay but at that rate it's just gonna sit in my closet and go to waste.

Oh no. Oh no oh no. Imari Seduction, the original from 2007, is my favorite perfume. It is perfect, and it does not have any rose in it. Why does Avon change their most popular fragrances????? Update 03/16/16- I tried the new Imari Seduction and I hate it. They have ruined a perfect fragrance. Avon, please fix this horrendous mistake. Update 2023- I have not forgiven Avon for this tragedy. I continue to trawl eBay looking for the 2007 formulation and stowing it away in my drawers, knowing one day I will run out and only be left with this abysmal imitation. Avon could have my money instead if they brought back the original formula.

From the notes I should really like this, but sadly no. The dry-down is not so pleasant for me, something a bit wrong with the musk notes I think and the vanilla just isn't nice. Disappointing.

Didn't think this would actually get my stamp of approval, but I love it. There's longevity and no irritating notes. Usually I prefer to say nothing, since there's nothing nice to say, but here I 'm happy with the abundant floral smell that is deep and purple like the bottle. I have a little original Imari which I pair this with and they contrast nicely. I prefer this one, but original Imari is nice too. If you are a fan of luscious plum and purple smells, I don't think you can go wrong here. Now, where is that Avon lady?

To my nose, in the bottle at least, this is very similar to Christian Dior's Poison. Most of the fragrance notes found here are also in Poison, but Poison is stronger, spicier, more balsamic, more complex, and much more expensive! People who like the plummy sweetness of Poison, but find it to be too big in an 80s sort of way, might really enjoy this. I find it to be softer, more wearable, and a really enjoyable fragrance available online for about $12. I also picked up the shower gel and powder for about $25 on Ebay.

This is my favorite of all the Imari series. Original Imari just makes me think of the 80s and members only jackets. Not something I care for. This flanker is so pretty and contemporary. I could see this as a good work perfume. Plum isn’t overwhelming. Sillage is moderate. Trying to think of what frag this reminds me of, will update when I figure it out. If you’re looking for an inexpensive daytime fragrance that smells much more expensive than it is, try this. You might really really like it.

Imari is a sweet but earthy, slightly powdery and musky in a good way but there's a BIG DIFFERENCE in Imari Seduction where I smell no musk and it's more floral and slightly fruity but also a slightly mature scent (great from 24-34 age range). I like Imari Seduction much better. Imari Seduction you could wear anytime of day vs Imari which smells like a strictly evening perfume. Actually Imari seduction is probably more similar to Imari Elixir than Imari.

Floral, sweet but not overpowering, this is a nice daytime scent, perfect for spring. The bottle looks cheap though, what were they thinking? The old bottle was beautiful, the dare I say iconic Imari shape. I'm hoping to finish my bottle this spring but I will not repurchase.

sweet clean and so soft, safe for an oversprayer. any age can wear this one, it would make a nice gift, pity about the name though which limits who you can give it to, if its for a young girl then peal off the lable.

I loved this scent. I wore it a few times but there was something in the composition that I was mildly allergic to. I had to give it away to a family member. I really loved this scent. It was very sensual to me.

Mellow and smoky, foresty. Reminds me of Play It Lovely and Sexual Femme (new version). This is a purple fragrance, but not as sweet and robust as most purples.

This is very classy. A sophisticated orchid mixed with soft violets, making it a little powdery in a very nice way.
