Instinct For Him

I am addicted to AVON fragrances admittedly...I always get compliments when I wear them. This particular cologne has everything I love... masculine scent, slow sillage that mellows out nicely and first wearing got a comment. Cool bottle and graphics too.

[November 23rd, 2013] Time ago I used to be one of those who tend to think Avon fragrances are more than just cheap: they are bad. But after having tried several ones along the last few years (and after having become a representative) I decided to look at those fragrances with more indulgent eyes. To my surprise, they have revealed themselves not as just cheap fragrances, but as fairly good affordable fragrances. Very good for the price we pay for, with some exceptions. Instinct was a very pleasant surprise. I tried the sample which came under plastic on the Avon products catalogue and decided to give the liquid sample a try on skin next time I would be at the Avon shop. It came to be more pleasant and finer than what I was expecting. My skin is warm and oily and tend to fixe fragrances for a long time - which is an asset - and to be more friendly to woody notes. Instinct smells good. Simple, but good. Even common, but good. First, let us consider Instinct is a very simple fragrance, built with only a few notes, known as very common ones. Right? The initial moments deliver the mandarin orange notes very intensively. They are beautiful, fresh, revigorating; but they are incredibly brief. They last a few seconds before the sage notes come up, mixing themselves with the mandarin ones. And you can also notice the ebony notes down deep inside. After some minutes, I would say, Instinct reveals what it really is and came for. Sage gives us that kind of sweat like spiced note, darkened buy ebony which smells very nice and modern here. And Instinct goes like that until its end around eight hours later, or more, with decent projection. Privately, I would have added some animal, leather or labdanum note to the composition, but Instinct is good the way it is. I believe it is a common fragrance, but it smells more expensive than it actually costs. It is a nice choice for every day use and goes very appropriate for a night out too. Projection is quite decent. Also: fits to a modern, elegant, wild personality and/or attitude. Yes, I agree: the bottle is not entirely good looking. I would have made it more masculine, more rectangular keeping the colours (nice ones) and the curved ripples on the back.

i had this long time ago despite the notes of mandarin,sage & ebony this for me is somewhat animalic & woody although for the bottle its kind of simple for both a boy & a girl would appreciate anyways i dont care about the bottle itself but to think it leans quite a unisex scent is pretty much decent & elegant and smells quite expensive than you think it is for the low price itself i cant really underestimate this. even if its a fragrance of common things it really shows its own thing it will get compliments from peoples out there that is if they wont knew what it is. its simply smells luxurious in a good way without knowing if its niche or a designers fragrance. but unfotunately fragrance addicts might not appreciate it because for them its common and they are not into cheaps but i can tell for the peoples that is not a fanatic about perfume will appreciate this especially elders and childrens. it smells wild and expensive performance is good enough.

This is a really good fragrance, it is very green, very fresh. Will be a nice one for the Summer (hopefully) months. The initial spritz definitely hits out with a strong burst of orange, which is incredibly good, but tragically too brief, a note for just the wearer to enjoy. The notes listed are definitely true to what you get, sage mellowing into a dark wood. This is actually nicely blended, stayed around for about 4 hours, which, for the price is great. As for the bottle, I quite like it, it's definitely different, there's a niceness to it, the way the lid shuts etc. Overall, thumbs up.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned a pepper note talking about this! When I first sprayed it and gave it a smell it was a total blast of pepper. It faded into a more predictable masculine scent, but I thought that was really cool, and it does linger a little it just doesn't dominate the whole scent after a few minutes. I can really smell the mandarin orange and ebony, not so much the sage but maybe I'm just not letting it sit long enough. It's more memorable than a lot of masculine scents I've tried before, so I would reccomend it
