Lahana

My first perfume as a 13 year old girl in 1992. I received it for Christmas - and being in the cold and snow of northern New England when I first wore this, I will always think of this as a winter scent. I have no idea where my original bottle went, but my husband purchased me a vintage bottle of this for Christmas of 2022. It’s a bit more powdery than I remember (but to be honest, after trying Chanel No. 5 as an adult, I can sniff out powder easily now... and I don’t care for it in general). But the florals are sweet and soft. Lovely scent.

Oh man, I just loved this one. So sweet and a banger in longevity and projection! Wish I could smell it again. It was so sunny and fruity and I felt so pretty with it radiating off of me!!💐

I tried it when it first started in Egypt in the 1900's but sadly ,I never owned it ..Wish it would make a come back

'90s tropical fruity floral along the lines of CK Escape, Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, etc. A ton of calone. Sweet rose and tropical white flowers like tuberose and jasmine. Something herbal like marigold or chamomile. Peach, osmanthus, watery notes. Basically tropical fruit punch. It has a sweet '90s amber note, along with that cosmetic, powdery, soapy Avon DNA in the base, their blend of vanilla, sandalwood, and musks. I agree with the comparisons, it has a lot in common with Women of Earth. Lahana is fruitier and sweeter, Women of Earth places more emphasis on the green & floral aspects. The bottle is pretty, but I don't ever reach for floral fruities. I decluttered both of them shortly after receiving them from an old family friend. Going by the comments, it seems to have been a mistake on my part.

@mattmhewitt93 - I just procured a .5 oz bottle of Lahana, and I agree with your review below. It smells like nothing else I have in my collection, and I haven't encountered it in the wild, either. Fruity and sweet definitely describe it, but this is not an "edible" scent, in my opinion. I'll add more to this review after I play with it a bit. Update: Nasty cat piss cassis and maybe tuberose. I hate this SO MUCH, one of the few perfumes I've wanted to actually wash off. And of course, the more you hate a perfume, the more tenacious the nastiness is. AVOID unless you love cassis and tuberose and don't mind the overinflated prices for this old Avon scent.

Ahh Lahana. Now I'm quite the fanatic for vintage Avon perfumes, no matter the gender, although for me, as a 27 year old guy, this has to be one of the most unusual fruity floral scents I've ever smelled. It has a fluffy jasmine and rose throughout then theres this tropical aspect to it behind the florals which intrigues me. It has a "beachy" vibe to it, although I would never associate a summer scent with this while Lahana still holds this typical cosmetic-like aroma in which Avon always seemed to produce in their scents throughout the 80s and 90s. To me; Lahana is actually a nice smell, though it's really unusual at the same time, quite distinct. Now in terms of the notes, because I see Fragrantica doesnt have notes listed, I'd say theres certainly a Lemon up there, though its toned down, to a floral blast of this sweet Jasmine and Rose, with some candied tropical watery notes behind it, along with sweetness from Amber. Lasting power is amazing, my bottle is an EDT and it lasts for a good eight hours, with a decent cloud around me for a good 30 minutes. It isn't like anything else to me, unless some honest reviewer could compare it? Some people would call this old-lady like, in which I hate that term, but to me it's a potion from 1991 that I love. To me, it's a 7/10. Thanks for reading and keep smelling good.

i got a bottle of it during the short time that wonder was produced in my country (Brazil). I am 57 and I fell in love with perfumes during my childhood. That one has set on my skin like few others in my already long story, Today I have been an Avon representative for almost 22 years, and I feel so sorry that I have never had the chance to offer my clients it. By far the one I would like Avon to bring back the most. It was studied by an indian creator perfumist whose name I don't remember who used the method living flowers - something modern than - to create the scent.

Avons Lahana was my favorite scent. when I was in high school. I loved the topical, fruity floral notes. There was also a gentle cinnamon/clover note that I detected back then. I have been wanting to purchase a bottle and I finally did. I received it today. I was so excited to try it after so many years. This time it wasn’t the same. I was really looking forward to it. It was strong and powdery. Maybe one day I’ll try to repurchase to hopefully find the scent I used to enjoy. But it’s understandable that sometimes over the years, perfume will lose its actual scent.

Lembro ser um living flower na época. Era uma febre em 1992. Comprei e amei ... Usei muito o ARTS, GLASS, SAFIRE e lógico, o LOHANA. Como deveria voltar em sua embalagem original. Simplesmente era perfeito.
