Lilac

I have a box of “kwickettes” in the fragrance Lilac by Avon. They’re individually packaged moist towelettes with Lilac fragrance for easy on-the-go refreshing. I think they’re from the late 1960’s or early 70’s. I tried one packet and rubbed it on my arms. The towelette was much larger than expected and still very moist. There was the expected smell of old stale perfume, but also some light and fresh flowers. I didn’t smell what I’d call lilacs but it’s something I would have been interested in using during my younger years when I was quite physically active and traveling more. A neat idea!

I own an ancient Avon sample box with a vial of the long discontinued scent "Lilac" - a soliflore. I cannot date it, but it utilizes the IFRA restricted nitro musks. It smells absolutely fantastic. I began hunting for a large bottle... and this is the only lilac soliflore from Avon listed on the database. I bought an unopened, vintage bottle of this perfume oil. ...It smells like one of those horrible plastic diffusers that people used to plug into wall outlets. No. Wrong. Bad. This is the incorrect lilac soliflore from Avon.

I found my bottle of this recently 22 years after I purchased it.I opened it and the beautiful scent of lilac appeared. It has not spoiled. It was slightly darker than I expected it to be but the scent is still there. It is a pure oil rather than an EDP or EDT. It's just a big lilac scent, no other notes just lilac. It smells exactly like the lilac tree in my mothers garden.
