Memorable

This was the last surviving bottle from my mid 2000s stint as an Avon lady. I sold (and bought!) mostly from the Mark line, but many of the Avon fragrances from that time, even the main catalogue, were moving away from powdery and sharp to lush and experimental. I had high hopes for Memorable. The promo said notes included walnut, ginger, grapes, and ebony. I was intrigued, so I grabbed a big batch and tried my best to promote it. Unfortunately, the bottle and packaging were exceedingly bland. So was the bonus gift item. Each bottle came with a beige porcelain picture frame in the same nondescript design as the bottles...anything but memorable! The scent was a pleasant buttery vanilla, but not as dramatic as hoped. Today, I almost got rid of the awkward round flat bottle and its darkening contents. I thought sure the juice would be noxious and rancid. I was curious to see what was brewing in the dust covered bottle with the missing spray cap. After borrowing the sprayer from another bottle and giving it a cautious spritz, I discovered that, omg....it had mellowed to something fine and luxuriant. Something in its spicy earthy heart reminded me enough of Tabu to Iayer them. They compliment one another beautifully. The sultriness of Tabu makes the sweetness more expressive and positively ignites the sandalwood and walnut. I will savor this last bottle as long as memory lingers.
