Mesmerize Black for Him

Well this fragrance it’s a lovely surprise for me, all i can smell is pepper and the sweet notes mixed with some woody notes in a really nice pleasant way. For the price nothing can’t beat it, I bought mine for around USD$13 for 3.4 fl.oz and i have already ordered a new bottle to my Avon Lady. It has become in my new everyday fragrance, perfect for fall/winter, a night date chilling out with ur friends or ur girl. The girls seems to like the smell and i do love it from start to the end, u can smell the pepper coming out right away after the first spray. Nice sillage and medium longevity on my skin, on clothes last more than 24 hours. Good Job Avon!

Yep it's another one of the dupes. A pretty good one. Has zero in common with the original Mesmerize, which is to this day a pretty classy fragrance. I can see commercially why they made this, after all they're all at it, copying 1m that is. It's a slightly watered down version of it, that may be easier to wear for some as 1m is a bomb. No depth really it is what it is, as themattsky said if you like 1m you will love it. Personally I'd say go for M&S Autograph Homme if you want a dupe, that is similar but nicer. Elegant,classy and very cheap. Simple fragrance,but very nicely blended.Yeah,I do get why some might think that this a close relative to One Million - the nutmeg,creating that bubble gum effect. But Mesmerize is not the chemical bomb that you'd expect.It's much more simplistic and yet sophisticated. This does not smell cheap and you will def get some compliments. A fall/winter frag perfect for a night out. Scent - 7.5/10 Presentation-8.5/10 Longetivity- 6-8 hours Projection - soft to moderate Price - 10/10

First off, I love it! Just tested some on the back of my hand. It's spicy woody and the dry down is sort of musky and sweet. It smells way better as time passes. Like a masculine sweet scent. My husband is going to smell so good. His signature is the original Mesmerize but I think he may love this even more. I know I do!

It is really worth it because it has good quality being an edt.This has lasted me more than 8 hours with moderate sillage. I agree with the resemblance to Paco Rabanne's 1 Million.Don't even think it's a clone because Mesmerize Black is less intense and a little powdery.

Wonderful perfume! Talk about bang for your buck. Creamy, nutty, leather, tonka, deep, long lasting. Great smelling cheapy that doesn't smell cheap!

My husband smells so yummy when he wears this cologne! A real winner from Avon! It's affordable too! Hope they keep making it.

Price is amazing, fragrance is great (moreso in the opening), all aspects of performance are however sadly lacking!

For under 10 euros you get a nice bottle and amazing scent for the price. Longetivity is only 2-4 hours.

You might not be blown away by this one but you might be pleasantly surprised if you haven't smelled it before. Let me say that It's VERY NICE! I've heard the comment "Whatever you're wearing is SEXY". This fragrance is well-blended. The notes that are prevalent for me are definitely tonka, sandalwood, leather and cedar. Said to be spicy, but not in a big way. More refined. Not sure where people are getting that this smells like Dr Pepper or Coca-Cola. It doesn't. Not at all. Unless you have an overactive imagination. I find this to be suitable for most any occasion. Casual, formal, maybe clubbing. It does have a certain sort sweetness, yet it's not an overly sweet, nor a boyish frag. If you're looking for one of those, I suggest you move on. This definitely smells much more expensive. Put it in a designer bottle and quadruple the price tag. For the low price paid, this one should be a welcome addition to your collection and it doesn't smell dated or smell like every other fragrance out there. Yes, It does pull some compliments too! A good, all around bang-for-the-buck. It's very affordable and you wouldn't be out much if by chance you don't like it. It's different than anything I have in my collection. I'm glad to have it. Give this one a try!

My review might be a little biased, because I use it all the time since it’s release as my signature scent. Not that similar to 1 Million, it’s less sweet, and a bit more leathery. It has been reformulated, still it’s almost the same, but smells even a bit more synthetic than before. In the opening, it has a very strong alcohol smell, and you can get a little bit of all the top notes, but pepper is the most dominant one. About 30 minutes later, the initial spiciness starts to fade away, and the leather/woody notes comes in place. Not listed in the notes breakdown, but there is definitely vanilla in there. Good for winter/fall, but works at any “night-type” occasion, except for when it’s very warm. Performance is about average on skin, about 4 hours with moderate projection. On clothes however, you can smell it for days. Overall for the price, it’s a solid fragrance, and if you’re not satisfied with the performance you can re-apply anytime, it’s cheap. All things considered, I’d say 7/10.

I had a feeling I would really like this based on a few reviews. I agree Dr. Pepper for sure comes to mind. I also liked the dusty spice cupboard reference albeit intended to be negative. I do find this synthetic but in the nicest possible way. In the opening it's a very warm and sweet almost amber vanilla spice. As it dries down I smell mostly tonka and sandalwood. It does have a One Million vibe but is not nearly as intense, much softer with less sweetness in the drydown. Also it was $10.99 for 100ml so I'm very pleased. I have been on an Avon kick latley this has been my first masculine purchase and now I'm tempted to pick up black suede and wild country.

I cant believe this fragrance doesnt have pineapple and/or coconut cream listed as integrient. It reminds me exactly of pina colada and shares some similiarity (as in sweetness) with Police's Tattooart. So, yes, it is a very sweet scent - and in my opinion it would go well at any time, any season - if you like sweet scents. Longevity is unexpectedly good for such a cheap fragrance. It lasts on my skin for over 8 hours, and beats most of the much more expensive fragrances. Sillage is a bit below average, so it is not a projection monster. Scent 8/10 (opening is too sweet, but I love the drydown). Longevity 9/10 Projection 7/10 Value 10/10 (<10€ for 100ml)

IMO Mesmerize Black is more versatile than Paco $1Million. The latter is just a sickly sillage monster worn by hoards of young pups as some sort of courtship sledgehammer where as AMB is more relaxed so you can really appreciate all the layers of the scent as it goes through it's life cycle. No it doesn't last very long on your skin (about 2 hours max) but if you use the EDT with the matching after shave soother and spray the EDT a little on your clothes you get pleasant wafts for most of the day. It's a great every day'er and occasional night-timer for me..............unless of course my next blind buy (Encre Noir) tempts me away.. :o)

I tried Armani Code Profumo on one hand and Mesmerize Black on the other. They smell almost the same, the only difference is that Mesmerize Black has a more "sour" note added. It's not better than Code Profumo but for this price, it's a no brainer. Even the longevity is great... Truth is, there is no point in getting AcP with this existing, save your money and get this. Some people might even prefer this over AcP. I paid 8€ for 100ml of this on Notino... Just get it honestly.

My sister bought this for me, and the first time I smelled it I thought of Dr. Pepper. The nutmeg is really strong, and it is definitely on the sweet side. When I let my sister smell it she thought it smelled like cinnamon rolls, and then just sweetness. However any scent with a moderate amount of tonka bean she thinks smells like cinnamon rolls. She settled on not liking the scent because it was too sweet. I think it is an okay scent, but just not for me.

Been trying this today and I am really impressed... Ya it might not last but for a few hours... but for what it is a clone of 1 million it does its job! For a night out or just going to the store this Mesmerize Black for Him Avon hits the mark. If your wanting a fragrance of this type to last all day you may need to chuck up the cash and get the real thing. I am just impressed on how well this fragrance smells!

I bought this blind after reading a really helpful post (254) by KJS88 in the 'Cheapies & Beast Mode scents' thread in the Club. Yes it does smell like PR 1 Million. Yes it lasts hours. It's similar to Kalimat Latansa by Ard Al Zaafaran. I think it's close enough for it to be worth buying as a cheapie alternative but differently good enough compared to 1 Million to have merit in its own right.

Hello, To put it simple it is a decent PR One million clone. Quality is quite ok similar to Cuba Royal. I do not justify paying a lot of money for PR One million but do see a certain charm in good clones. Not my cup of tea, but a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. Great purchase. Solid fragrance for colder weather in my opinion, winter, fall and early spring. Most women love it.

I'm waited more different, deeper and oriental scent, on the catalog paper smells like another 1 million, but the intense edition...whywhy? The female Mesmerize black is so unremarkable smell, I tried too in the catalog and I forget right off I don't understand Avon...

it's ok on me. it's GODLY on my partner oh my god it's so fucking amazing on him im reluctant to buying him any other perfumes because this works way too damn well with his chemistry. gold.

10 hours on the skin best of avon clone the 1 million.

#72 in my "Tour de Fragrance" of 250 scents in 250 days, and another of the "30 under $30" that I've selected. I can't say I loved the powdery component in the opening, which smells like fresh linen in a high-end hotel. Almost a hint of bleach. Certainly not bad in any way, still wearable, but just not intimate and sexy. Post dry down longevity is better than the original blue version, but still lacks staying power. Both versions have zero projection in a matter of minutes and become skin scents thereafter. But the Black as a skin scent works due its greater complexity, whereas the Blue is just vanilla ice cream.

I bought some samples of this having read the reviews on here. I was hoping for something strongly woody and spicy (even musty) but unfortunately it is overwhelmed by a very strong fruity and sickly bubblegum note just like many high street fragrances have been in the last few years. I can totally understand the Dr Pepper description. I'm sure this is popular with a lot of people but for me it's just far too cloying and totally lacking in sophistication or subtlety. I imagine it's the kind of scent worn by men who don't really care about fragrance but wear what they're given at Christmas time.

This thing is utterly cheap and disgusting. My nose can't handle it and it seeps into my mouth too. There is a strong nutmeg/pepper combo that is very unfortunate and together with the tonka bean, it gives a stale and moldy spice cupboard or drawer vibe. I can never classify this scent as elegant, exotic or sophisticated. It's the antithesis of that. Just imagine opening a stale and damp drawer in which cheap pepper and plain sugar have been spilled and forgotten for at least a year.

We have different noses. I bought this after reading so much great things about it. My family likes it....but i. Sorry but i smell some oldish cheap sinthetic thing in it and i really don't like it. Gave it to my son... But there is another Avon frag wich i really like and its the "Today Tomorrow Always Celebrate Avon for men" It has similarity with Dior Home Intense. There's iris in it what is lovely! Peace

Dislike. Not a safe blind buy after just rubbing the page at the Avon catalog. Awfully peppery scent. To my nose the pepper is more like sharp black pepper than aromatic pink pepper. Some JPG le Male kind of warmth and sweetness at it's best but with terrible dry down to ruin it all. Altough they say this is a copy of One Million that is also a dislike for me. I like more Boss Bottled kind of safetyness

I had high hopes for mesmerize black as I'd heard it was a clone of one million prive. I was very pleased with the opening, a nicely balanced sweet scent that very much compares to prive, however I sprayed it on my normal 7 sprays and drove a short drive to the store, and by the time I had arrived about 20 minutes later the fragrance had progressed to a synthetic nightmare that had no resemblance to the opening, along with the smell of cheap perfumers alcohol in the background. I'm not very picky with my fragrance but this was definitely a blind buy fail to me. 4/10 and that's only because the opening is enjoyable.

10h+ longevity for an Avon product?! With the Avon Man ,i thought there is something wrong with the assembly line on Avon, because i could smell that around me even after 6-8h(4 sprays), but this one is even better. The smell, yes,it does have that '1 million' vibe ,yet it is more civilised, still generic, it a cheapie, but great compliment getter. The projection, 4-5h, makes a nice bubble scent around you. It is better not to be smelled directly from the skin on the first couple of hours. The price beat me real hard, 9 euro/100ml. If this is the direction that Avon is going from now on, they have won a fan, because they have a lot of great fragrances that doesn't perform, at all, yet. Good job Avon. Re-edit: Paco Rabanne Black XS Potions clone all the way, identical mid and drydown notes.

I’m a woman and I enjoy several men’s fragrance options, as I find them somewhat more subdued and less “frilly” than some women’s options. This is a lovely fresh vanilla, not cloying or syrupy and not foody. It does start with an herbal blast of mint, lemon and pepper - although not well defined, they give freshness to the opening. The scent quickly settles down to a mellow, subtle, fresh vanilla - the woods may be there but not overpowering. I don’t get a nutmeg note nor does the overall sense feel like a heavy gourmand. It is a good daily, all purpose scent that I enjoy wearing.

Quite a nice sweet, spicy frangrance from Avon. Not similar to the original Mesmerize at all, but it is quite similar to One Million, just less heavy. Longevity and projection are quite good on my skin, getting from 6 to 8 hours out of it in cold weather. One of the best budget scents you can get.

Hhhhmmmnnn I wonder if We'll(USA) get this one....The Original Mesmerize for men is Still a Good seller here but we dicontinued the womens Not once but TWICE!! So as of yet I haven't heard anything about these from my rep. material yet!

I'm not a fan of Avon perfumes and bought a tester. Very nice surprise...yummy unisex almond musk. Smells much more expensive than the price would suggest. Does not disappoint, would consider buying a full bottle of this.

1 million copy...thats all. I regret this purchase but after all i tried to help an avon lady. 60/100 RIYL: 1 Milllion.

Mesmerize for men is one of the best from Avon along with Black Suede. I hope this is available to tiff U.S. market.
