Oud Rose

The same jammy, raspberry rose as Goutal's Rose Pompon but heaped over with black oud (Rose Pompon does not contain oud but the rose essence is quite similar). Also structurally similar to ODLR's Midnight Amber (if I remember that one correctly). Oud Rose unfortunately has disparaging reviews on Avon's official site. I'd like to believe these reviewers are just unfamiliar with the relatively new use of heavy, "medicinal" oud in American perfumery. But of course, perhaps it's just not for everyone. Nicely composed, very expensive/"niche" smelling, but must love oud.

This perfume layers nicely with Lattafa’s Oud for Glory. It has many of the same fragrance notes but adds the rose for a more feminine fragrance. Together they smell similar to Lattafa’s Amethyst but more oudy and exotic

I got this today, and I do like the spicey rose scent. It smells like a spicey rose tea. It's warm. A good night fragrance for dinner or meeting up with friends. I'm not mad at it!

This is a beautiful and unisex (imo) scent. It's similar to Delina, another rose -oud fragrance but this is heavier on the oud and less sweet. Overall, lovely grown rose scent

Bought a travel size because I’m a sucker for rose scents. I was hesitant as I do not care for oud. The oud is here, pretty intensively to my nose - medicinal, fairly clean - especially initially. It twines together with the rose, which is also quite prominent. After several minutes the oud fades but the rose remains, wafting up from where I sprayed in gentle waves. This is a fruity, jammy, sweet rose (not a crisp, lemony rose as in Tea Rose), as that tends to be the current popular way a “rose” note is expressed. As the oud takes a back seat, I can imagine I smell coffee and pepper, dark fragrances that smooth over the medicinal oud and bring a faint earthiness. Patch used to bug me, but I learned to love it in Comme une Evidence le parfume, with the rose-patchouli-lily combo there; but Lyrds rose-patch is a jammier rose but it’s got a similar rose-patch vibe to me. Darker, trying to be moody (and almost succeeding - not sure Avon can really do “moody.”) I have a decant of Calligraphy Rose and this is similar, lighter oud and lighter fragrance overall. Maybe would work as a much cheaper stand in. I also find this quite similar to Avon’s Velvet, another rose scent with much more fruitiness and no oud. So far, still pretty noticeable after 3 hours (2 light spritzes, cool weather).

I love the first 3 hours, because it smells nothing like the other Avon scents. Its a beautiful rosy jammy smell...then it dryes down into a normal Avon bubble shampoo scent 🫧. ( note I sayed shampoo, not soap..if it ended in a soap smell I'd throw it against the wall) ...I don't want to smell like fresh clean shampoo I want to smell like the heavenly rose scent that I bought it for... Oh well. I like it though. I wear it ar home mostly.
