Passionate Purple

I've had it, this has been the fragrance of my-18 year old- self:) By that point I was into heavy sweet perfumes so this was an exception, it surprised me how much I liked it. It wasn't Avon's regular offer, it must have been released around the summer and that is when I got it. For me it was the fragrance of summer nights, clubs and parties - I am sure I wore it at my friend's 18th birthday party. I liked to wear white denim jacket and spray this fragrance generously. I remember how it made me feel: so adult, so grown up and independent. Dominant note? Freesia! The fresh, cooling freesia, this is why it suited hot summer nights so well. I tried to pretend I am put together and such a fresh and cooling scent served this purpose so well. Today we could say: it is a clean girl aesthetic, but this term did not exist back then in 2004. From that time I started to trust perfumes in violet bottles:)

This is probably the first and the last typically musky scent on this planet that I don't mind wearing - probably because of the abundance of floral notes - but not overwhelming floral notes, only very delicate ones, such as freesia and lily-of-the-valley. Sandalwood complements the whole combination with a woody (not animalic) drydown, which is just great! I'm happy that I still have it although I use it scarcely and sparingly. A really interesting perfume!

I had this listed on ebay with lots of other unsold avon inventory and decided to go back to it because when I listed it, I smelled it and rather enjoyed the scent. Yeah, I still enjoyed the scent.. inside the bottle. I sprayed it on my skin and I got a huge whiff of what I can only describe as urine. The drydown wasn't bad but still not my cup of tea. I don't care how much bad rep they get for being for teens, but the floral, fruity, sweet fragrances always play best with my chemistry. Even when I find one that is not of these specific notes and I like the smell (say Gucci Premiere) they never smell good on me (or as my ex said when I tried to pass off Gucci Premiere "The pheromones are off")
