Pavi Elle

I'm stunned that this scent is not more widely appreciated. Perhaps it just doesn't have the exposure (based on the number of votes it has). It is truly a unique gem of a scent! It is part of this month's tray, so I put it on after showering post-gardening and pre-teaching. It is so incredibly special! Many aldehyde scents are just that, but this is so much more. I get the vetiver, Iris, and cinnamon, and they combine in a gorgeous and unique way. It's fresh without being anemic. It's classic but extremely daring and timeless. I can imagine this being packaged in an Amouage bottle and sold for $400. And you'd all buy it and swear it was the best thing ever. But as is, it's nearly forgotten. A shame considering it can be had for a song. - - - - - - - - - - August 2016 My my, isn't this the moody lady? Last time I sprayed it, gorgeous fresh aldehydes greeted me. This time, I would have almost thought I had accidentally grabbed my bottle of Opium... Except that I don't own a bottle of Opium! Thanks to my Jil Sander ventures, I now know what heliotrope smells like, and this is it. But somehow, that cinnamon has taken over the wheel and is driving this joyride. NOT what I had been expecting. Or maybe it's that my recent increased exposure to aldehydes has made less sensitive to them, so I'm noticing a wider range of notes. Either way, this was a great bargain at $2.50 for a mostly full bottle at the vintage store. I imagine this positivity opening up in a bit of heat. As is, it has served as my bedtime fragrance.

Pavi Elle was one of the many perfume loves of my mother. I remember when Avon stopped making it and she was upset because she really liked it. I think we can all relate to that feeling about our favorite perfumes. There is a sort of magical cloud that happens around our mothers' bedroom dressing tables and Sunday before church was often scented with the heavenly (pun intended) aroma of Woodhue, Emeraude, Imari, Foxfire, Pavi Elle and so many over the years. If you love a good soapy aldehyde fragrance you can get a bottle of Pavi Elle for very little money. YOU MUST LOVE SOAP! IMO. Some days Pavi Elle is too much for my nose, but it is beautiful. My mom could make certain perfumes smell gorgeous like I never could. She was a beautiful woman. A "looker." I keep this little bottle to remember her and to wear if I am wanting a stroll down memory lane. Edit: After wearing Pavi Elle all day I fell totally in love with it! It really smoothed out and sweetened and the sharper soapy edge rounded out. I kept getting whiffs of it all day and it really wowed me. I think I will be wearing it more often now! Beautiful!

Ooh, the nostalgic memories of 1983 and 1984 this fragrance holds dear memories for me. Pavi Elle happened to be one of my favorite perfumes of the Avon phase of my teen years. There was nothing more exciting than to discover someone who sold avon, and I remembered how I was so excited to browse through those catalogs ,and to be able to have my mom order some of my favorite perfumes. Pavi Elle, will always have a special place in my heart, even though Avon stopped selling it many years ago, its still nice to see that it can still be purchased through sites such as ebay. Everyone nowadays gravitate towards buying these new fragrances, and are putting these old gems on the back burner. Im.going to buy a bottle of the pavi Elle to keep as a treasure. Hopefully the scent hasn't changed, but I will always treasure that scent fit the rest of my days.

I love this fragrance and wish Avon hadn't discontinued it. It was my first gift of perfume as an adult, given to me by my brother and sister-in-law. So there's a bit of nostalgia in it as well. But of all the Avon fragrances I've had, this is my favorite. I wore it as a signature fragrance for many years. Its floral sweetness is balanced by the woodsy notes, with a somewhat sultry result. Long lasting and gets better the longer I wear it. Thankfully able to buy it on eBay!

What a memory,Totoally for got about this. Way back when I started my love of perfumes....now where did this bottle go??? I may have to find a vintage.

As soon as I went through puberty in the late 80s, this more mature fragrance replaced Baby Soft as my favorite scent. I wore it for about 4 years before discovering Victoria in 1993. Pavi Elle was a wonderful introduction to perfumes for a young lady, light, sweet and powdery, with very little silage. I imagine the body chemistry of an older woman would do some weird things to this perfume, so I’m glad this is just a memory from the 90s.

Very soft, pretty and easy to wear, yet long lasting. An aldehydic woody floral in which I especially enjoy the heliotrope, cedar and cinnamon. I never had this when it was being produced and am pleasantly surprised with the small bottle I found before Christmas. It reminds me a bit of some of the other Avons that were popular at the time, maybe Foxfire, but more feminine and less sharp than some of those.

this opens with aldehydes, bitter geranium, iris and woods. it's woody/aldehydic but gets more powdery as time goes on. later i get hints of lily and heliotrope but the strongest floral note besides iris is rose-a powdery one. i get some subtle vanilla/cinnamon as well. cozy, powdery, vintage.

A sweet, powdery beauty from Avon's golden years... and what a fantastic bottle! Smelling this brings me back to my '70's childhood, and this soft, romantic fragrance wafting in the summer air.

A floral aldehyde with rose, heliotrope and iris, sandalwood and cedar. Very sharp and pretty.

Oh a beauty added to database. I was surprised by a fragrantican who added some amount this perfume as an extra due to my love for vintages. Oh and where do I start with the pleasant journey. The opening is beautiful geranium and aldehyde. Such a sparkling combination. It evolves into lily of valley and vetiver with hints of rose and base is musk on me. Ofcourse there are other notes which I have yet to learn to discern in such a complex perfume. But these ones are most evident to my nose. Silage is minimal (but then it's my skin which fades even powerhouses to skin scent) and longevity is 4 hours. Gorgeous concoction

I wore this scent all the years it was sold. I used up several bottles which is unusual for me. It had that wonderful combination of balsamic and powder, but managed to have a freshness as well. I think Heliotrope was a key player in this perfume but it was rather complex as well. It was a true beauty and I loved it! I wish Avon would bring it back, but I would be very doubtful it would be as the original. It sure would be nice though if it could be....

This is very, very nice. The combination of notes is gorgeous! I agree with the last reviewer that it truly is a pleasant journey. I have noticed that most of the older, discontinued Avon fragrances are so much better than any of the newer current scents. How I wish they would bring them back. Even the vintage bottles hold up and are fantastic. The silage with this one is good on me so I will be looking for more of this as soon as possible!!
