Perceive

Bu parfüm hakkında o kadar çok şey yazabilirim ki. Öncelikle eskiden parfüm alırken notalara bakmazdım. Katalogdaki tanıtımına bakarak alırdım. Bu parfüm benim lise yıllarımda imza parfümümdü. En sevdiğim Avon parfümü. Ve hayatım boyunca seveceğimden emin olduğum tek parfüm. Bu parfüm hakkında yorum yazmadan önce diğer yorumları okumadım. Ama yazdıktan sonra okuyacağım çünkü bu kokuyu onlar nasıl hissediyor merak ediyorum. Bende hissettirdiği şey hüzünlü, melankolik ama aynı zamanda huzurlu ve sakinleştirici. Bir yağmur sonrası gibi. Bu bir başyapıt. Denediğim hiçbir parfüm bana bu duyguları hissettiremiyor. Bu parfümü her kokladığımda onu kullanmam için beni ikna etmeye çalışıyor. Oldukça ısrarcı ve aceleci. "Beni sık. Beni bekletme. Kendini benimle kokuya bula. Bol bol sık. Buram buram. Cimri olma. Beni kullan!" diyor. Bu kokunun benimle konuştuğunu iddia edebilirim :D Ve bu konuda neden bu kadar ısrarcı olduğunu sanırım anlıyorum. Notaları oldukça hızlı bozuluyor ve 10 sene sonra sadece bir alkol kokusu ve kötü bir kokuya dönüştü. Şu an bir yenisini aldım ve artık onu anlıyorum. Avon'un tüm fresh parfümleri gibi çabuk bozuluyor. Geçmişte stokladıklarım kutusunda muhafaza ettiğim halde bozuldu. Umarım hayatım boyunca bu parfüme ulaşabilirim çünkü stoklamaya uygun değil. Parfüm oldukça fresh ve bana kalırsa sucul, bana denizi ve bir deniz kenarını andırıyor. Notalara baktığımda bunun bir çiçek kokusu olduğunu görüp şaşırıyorum. Bana kesinlikle serin bir deniz kenarı havası veriyor. Bu parfüm benim için en özel parfüm ve beni gençlik yıllarıma götürse de, şu anda bile çok değerli ve eşsiz. Şişesi ve ismi kesinlikle parfümle uyumlu. Her mevsim kullanılabilir. Daha bir sürü şey yazabilirim fakat bu parfüm bana göre anlatılmaz, yaşanır. Onu bekletmeyin, onu sıkın, bitirin ve yıllar sonra taze duyguları ve umutları hatırlayın...

I just noticed that one reviewer on here said that she finds Perceive to be an "ugly, ugly" perfume and that she thinks it's suitable for old ladies. How incredibly rude!! As for the "B.O. stench following me around .." that another reviewer mentioned she smelled when she wore this perfume - well, presumably it's her own chemistry that affected the perfume that way, or perhaps it actually was stale body odor!! I find it curious that some people have such strange views. Why should anyone think that old ladies should be the ones who should wear what may be seen (in some people's views) as being unpleasant perfumes?? That's a very peculiar, and nasty, attitude. Everyone can choose to wear the perfumes that they like and that they feel happy wearing. That might mean that a more mature lady may prefer light, fruity, fresh perfumes (and smell good in them!) and a younger woman might prefer deeper, more intense perfumes (and, to other people's noses, might smell unpleasant!). Either way, everyone is an individual with individual tastes, regardless of their age, and has a right to wear what makes them happy without other people being nasty and sneering about them. Anyone who has such narrow minded views as the reviewer I mentioned above who made the nasty comment about old ladies should take a good hard look at themselves and try to be nicer. Maybe that would make them more pleasant people. For the record, Perceive is actually a very likeable, fresh, light, feminine, AGELESS, perfume and is one of Avon's better ones - and it DEFINITELY doesn't smell of either old ladies (if there is actually a definitive old lady smell - which there isn't!), pigs, stale socks or body odor (which some other people have likened it to)!

But recently, after more than 20 years, I finally found it again, and incredibly, it smells exactly as it used to. The moment I sprayed it, all those memories came rushing back. It felt like being transported in time. The bottle itself is just as special-designed like a crystal or diamond, with a soft light purple lavender hue liquid inside, it looks elegant and nostalgic at the same time. I feel so lucky to have rediscovered this fragrance. Perceive isn’t just a perfume—it’s a piece of my past, a reminder of love, and a scent that will always stay with me.

I had this in university 8 years ago, I would have reordered it but it was discontinued. I loved it as an everyday everywhere scent. It was there but it wasn't there. It was hard to use too much of it to a point of it being overdone(on me). I am still learning about perfumes so please try to visualize my review :) It smelled like very icy cold water on the top of a mountain. and like paper. It was clean smelling. Later on I would smell powdery and gentle. My boyfriend at the time loved it. If I ever get it again I'll do another review, since I will probably have a different experience due to body chemistry. I didn't know people hated this scent! lol i thought it was good.

how that could be, how that perfume is an Oriental perfume,??!!! personally i used it over 9 years ago and still it used to be my signature perfume for years i was 17 or 18 years old and i fall in luve with it at once, i bought it over 5 or 6 times now i have it and i luve it but it became not my cup of tea any more .. but i never thought it can be just sick ORIENTAL perfume , it can be oriental floral , or floral but not oriental, its so sweet for being an oriental perfume i adore the base not of vanilla, musk and sandalwood , and um sure about the floral note i cant define it exactly but it has a clear floral note, in short that perfume is GOOD i like it very much

I remember when this perfume was first launched, it was marketed as a "mood altering fragrance"- I remember thinking that all fragrances have the potential to be "mood altering". I was pregnant at the time and was given a sample by a friend who was an Avon rep, it smelt wonderful and cheered me up all through my pregnancy. I agree with others about the body chemistry thing though- as soon as my son was born it started to smell horrible on me and I haven't worn it since!

I smelled Perceive for the first time today on a scented strip in an Avon brochure and loved it. It's fresh, light, clean, floral but slightly fruity too. I immediately placed an order for a 50ml bottle and two roll-ons which were all on special offer at an incredibly reasonable price. I tend to think that on the whole most Avon perfumes are quite pleasant, if nothing special, but Perceive stands out from the rest by a long shot.

This is my go to winter perfume. It is interesting how subjective reviews are, as I would not describe it as soft and aquatic at all, but a peppery floral scent that is quite bold. I love to wear it during wintertime, I would find it too heavy for summer. All in all, a perfume that I always have, and as soon as the weather gets colder, around November time, it comes out of the closet. I hope that it never gets discontinued.

This was one of my favorite perfumes in my later teens. I remember getting asked if i was wearing Babydoll at the time, and having looked now, it has a few notes in common which maybe were stronger on me at the time...Freesia, Sandalwood, Cedar, and vanilla. Iv yet to actually try Babydoll yet. I think the Freesia,Musk,Sandlewood,Vanilla combo could have been a part of the like for me.

This is one of the first perfumes I ever had and I LOVED IT. I used it every day in middle school and high school until 11 grade. It's soft, sweet, definitely an everyday perfume for teenagers. I don't ususaly like avon fragrances but this one marked my childhood. give it a try if you're under 20!

I have many perfumes for spring/summer season but my hand keeps reaching for this beautiful, enchanting cheapie. So long lasting, fresh, clean yet powerful. Aquatic, flowery, not in-your-face but definitely not a skin scent. Love this perfume! Will definitely get more while it's still available.

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance! It makes me think calm, clean, and collected. The smell is so light yet radiates around you so much. It lasts for hours and even outdoors people can still catch the drift of this wonderful smell! It is hands down my all time favorite perfume from AVON.

I bought this perfume more than 10 years ago and loved it immediately . For me this will be my forever perfume . Really love thw pear amd plump note . Great deal for the price and for me it can last more than 8 hours . I would say you can wear it any time , anyseason .

one of my fav perfumes from avon :) awesome blend of freesia, pear and musk that I find it addictive ! I just can't consider it to be "just an ordinary clean scent". noooo,it is just...heavenly!!!!

I always had a bottle of this parfume since high school. This is floral-fresh, good for any occasion, night or day, cold or hot wheater. This is the best parfume I tried.

I just loved its spicy feeling, yet very feminine for such a strong independant working woman. It has a personality other that all Avon perfumes. I liked it a lot!

My religion school teacher said she was tired of this, and she gave it to me, this is adorable to be an avon perfume.

I have the lotion. Just started using it. I can't say I love this but definitely like it. It really reminds me of something I have already smelled before. Before coming on to this site to make a review I was trying to think what the scents were in this fragrance. I thought it smelled like sunflower or jasmine which was wrong but I was on the right track anyways. By my own opinion and conclusion from reviews the most noticeable thing in this fragrance is the floral. Then the pepper, then the sandalwood and musk. I didn't know there was pepper in this just by smelling it at first. I thought it was gonna be sandalwood and/or amber and/or some musk... and it was but with pepper! which is funny because I just read the new article posted; "Blackpepper, piper nigrum, ブラックペッパー 11/30/16 10:15:55 by: Matvey Yudov." I left a comment saying I should experience some pepper scents. This fragrance uses the white not black pepper but I now knowing this fragrance has pepper in it at all I can tootallyy smell the pepperyness. I smell the floral stronger than the pepper though. After I got done sniffing the hell out of my hand my nose definitely feels like it inhaled a couple pepper grounds, like that fresh sensitive feeling and feels just a little bit almost like I could sneeze. If the pepperyness was stronger I think I would, glad the floral is dominant or this scent may be unbearable for me. I think the floral notes are the most reason I like this scent. I am enjoying the peppryness but not as much as I thought i would. My nose literally feels weird from intensely sniffing pepper. I think I am on the fence with this one. I can understand why other are saying this smells chemically. Since I recognize this smell from somewhere I have been trying to think of where and my mind keeps thinking about paint. Like a spray paint or artsy oil paint.. or maybe not paint at all I am not totally sure why its making me think paint. I am a weird person and enjoy some chemical smells I don't happen to get grossed out by the way paint, crayons or markers smell. I like those weird smells. I cant't pinpoint where I have smelled this before and it could be a few things I guess. I suppose I would not say this is a unique scent then. If you are a not a picky perfume snob and you think you would enjoy this even a little you should know I bought this (150ml) body lotion off notino.com (beautyspin) for less than $2! lol which is why I bought it. I bought it blind, I did not sample it at all. But it's Avon & I don't feel like I can go wrong with Avon. They generally have decent quality stuff. I am not a super picky person about fragrances, I will wear some perfumes that I more or less dislike. I recognize not everything is all about me. Not everyone smelling my perfume will enjoy it obviously, so when I wear one I dislike I still know someone else who smells me might like it and that's good! plus I like variety and I don't dislike a lot of perfumes anyways since I am not extremely picky. It's not usually a problem for me. I am glad though that this fragrance does not smell like soap (my opinion. I see some think that) or candy. Candy smelling fragrances are the ones most often that I dislike and get those weird headaches from. Avon Perceive is very floraly significantly and immediately followed by pepperyness... I guess it reminds me a little bit of being up close and personal with a real rose. Roses often have a weird pepperyness to them..the floral doesn't smell rosy though. Many would label this one as "grandma" I think. I love "grandma" scents. My bff always teasing me about how I smell like her grandmother lol. oh and I think this is a good fall/winter smell for day or night. I don't think this is a good fragrance to wear on a warm or hot spring/summer day, perhaps night. It's 100% a night time fragrance in my opinion but i really think anytime is okay. (Update ~2-3 hours later) I feel like longevity is the lesser end of moderate.. or moderately moderate. def not lasting 6 hours. Silliage lessening as well...obv since the smell is getting weak. I applied this fragrance just a few hours ago after my shower, again, its the lotion version so its really supposed to be on my skin. Keep in mind I don't use huge globs of lotion. I use like a couple tiny little pea sized drops and apply it to my body while I'm still damp from the shower. It's turned into a very very light fair fragrance, not strong at all, doesn't seem powdery or soapy to me. According to my nose, still smells floraly, peppery smell flattened out a lot, somewhat easier to detect the musk and sandalwood. Do not think it smells chemically. I like it. Dabbing some more on my hand right now..... k.. I like it better fresh out of the bottle when the scent is stronger and more prominent. Seems the floral smell will remain the same from start to final finish but the strength it dies down after ~90 minutes-ish. I have not picked up any fruity notes at all. Pears not exactly a super strong scent though I'm sure its there but really super faint/unnoticeable.
