Perfect Nonsense Peppery Peaches

I really rate this new offering from Avon. I have all 3 of the collection, and this is by far my favourite. It is fruity - obviously - and the scent of peaches is very well supported by vanilla and pepper in this perfume.

The opening for Peppery Peaches lives up to the name of the fragrance, the name of the line, and the advertisements; the spicy heat from the pepper crossed with the gentle juiciness of a soft peach - I can't describe the scent of the velvet accord in any real detail, it's just a hint of fuzziness and gentle warmth. Sometimes I can separate the brief squeeze of bergamot, but other times I can't. The rose is the strongest floral note for sure, although the osmanthus is also pretty clear - the combination is amazing with the peach. The other florals aren't clear enough to be easy to seperate, but I feel confident with saying that some jasmine & orange blossom is in the background. Sometimes I think that I get lily blended with remaining traces of pepper too? The sense of warmth and brightness in the heart does bring something solar to mind - I can't name a scent or anything, it's more of a feeling that the blend brings to mind. As the fragrance softens/becomes closer to the skin the sweetness and creaminess dials up; a sugared vanilla, with tonka bean, sandalwood and a soft musk. Sweet, warm and creamy - goes wonderfully with the remaining peach and white floral traces. The longevity and projection are really good, but not as amazing as Avon's best selling Far Away line - around six hours wear on skin, with a soft [but not skin-scent] projection. For the price I have no complaints, but I do recommend spritzing some on clothing too, as the fragrance clings to fabric for over twelve hours. This perfume is a like, but admittedly not a love; I really wish that the pepper was longer wearing throughout the fragrance, for a more clashing, energetic blend. I would still consider a repurchase in the future because it has similarities with a few other fragrances I really enjoy, but this is a much more affordable choice.

At first, the peach is vivid and sugary, more like peach jam than fresh fruit, very dominant, with just a faint pepper note in the background. At this stage, it’s a sweet-and-bitter fruit accord. Over time, the peach softens into a subtle nuance, while rose, benzoin, and osmanthus become much more prominent. This phase reminds me of Zara’s Stellar Amber, which is a dupe of Amouage Guidance. I also pick up what feels like a cashmeran note (though it’s not listed), paired with a distinct summery, salty undertone. In the drydown, tonka bean takes the lead, adding a warm, soft sweetness that very lightly recalls the drydown of Olympea. Overall, if you can get past the overly fruity sweetness of the opening, this is a fantastic fragrance. The projection is strong and the longevity is excellent, so much so that in summer, more than one or two sprays could feel overwhelming.

Something for fans of peach, which is the queen of this scent, as in many women's perfumes by Avon. You can barely feel the other notes. At the very beginning we have an explosion of pepper, which for a moment stings in the nose, but the pepper quickly disappears and the peach remains. You can still feel the rose, which makes the scent drier. And that's probably it, until the end it is a monotonous peach with a rose accent in the background and maybe some shade of white flowers. It's balsamic at the end. The scent is warm, sunny, delicate, feminine, but boring. 5/10

This was a weird one. Pepper Peaches opens saccharine, giving candy vibes from the outset and an oddly furry note that I just couldn’t jive with, guys, sorry. Sort of like a fluff-covered wad of pink bubblegum pinned to the underside of a bus seat. Could it be those weird “velvet” and “solar” notes to blame? Who knows. Either way, Peppery Peaches was simply too fruity and oversweet for my tastes (albeit far from an offensive scent, so please don’t be put off by my decidedly fussy nasal cavity)!

I've spend the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK testing these three Perfect Nonsense fragrances and my thoughts so far- Peppery Peaches is very strong peach fragrance, tempered by a slight bitterness. Lasts forever. Avon have always been into peach notes - (I loved Pretty Peach from the 1970s with its bath products and very cute packaging). Great value for c.£10 a bottle and I would use it a lot for freshening up during the day in the summer.

too sweet! regifted to my sister. smells exactly like a mango scented body lotion from bath and body works that I had as a preteed. the pepperiness and florals add minimal interest, but its still a pretty straightforward scent. great gift for younger girls and teens!

I get a Gucci Rush vibe from this! They are not the same and Peppery Peaches is not a dupe, but it is just my very own private impression. It has that vibe, like if Gucci Rush would have been released today, it would have smelled like this.
