Rare Onyx

I wish this perfume would be rich, mysterious, dark, to truly captivate the essence of the black onyx. I only bought 2 samples and it was a good choice because this perfume didn't convince me to buy the full bottle. The beginning is simple, generic, but towards the middle notes (after few minutes) i get the richness of the neroli and amber. The plum smells very good, almost gourmand, but unfortunately this perfume just doesn't scream "sophistication" for me. Is in the same lines as Midnight Pearl from Oriflame. And the musk just makes it smell like soap (as a base note). It is not very sweet, and it leans toward a masculine scent.

This perfume is lovely... It's starts of with a blast of cherry.... Then fades down slightly. It's an EDP don't forget so id definitely is a long lasting perfume... If you love dark perfumes with a strong hint of plum then you should go for this one. A good perfume by Avon ❤️

It's so nicely sweet, embracing you gently. It's a gourmand, fruity sweetness with a touch of vanilla. Closer to the skin, more delicate and intimate than Rare Gold. A nice touch to make your day more pleasant. A nice scent for a lady for any occasions.

This is the biggest disappointment with Avon :))) I had Little Black Dress back in my teenage years and it was decent, I recently bought TTA Today which is by far the best low-budget perfume I ever had, but this... Smells sweety, and airy, and that's it. No darkness, no "sophistication", no nothing. Plain, sweet, common female perfume, towards the cheap-smelling side. With 10euro you can buy any Zara perfume and smell better and have better performance. Performance? :)) haha, it does not even smell in the lid! Inexistent sillage. First bad blind-buy... also overpriced! This should be around 5 euros at most.

Similar to Maxima but more masculine leaning. The combination of neroli and amber adds a sharpness and cologne-like edge that surprises me in a woman's perfume. Once it has settled from it's travels I will try it again, hoping to get some womanly plummy rose warmth out of it...Yes, it is warming up a teensy bit. It reminds me of a mix of Maxima and Far Away Royale, with a hint more masculinity. I prefer Maxima, but if you like a brighter crisper edge, try this! Plus, skin chemistry and climate can make this a rounder scent. Edit: I just realised that this scent reminds me much more of Victoria's Secret Amber than Maxima. Avon does some very sharp edgy ambers which aren't to my taste but if you like them, try this.

Neroli and plum allow the musk to do too much. After a while that's all you get and it gets boring.

I agree with Noelanii about the fragrance leaning towards a masculine scent. I've tried the fragrance in a warm setting and also in a cold setting. When first sprayed I get a blast of what smells like antiseptic, probably the cologne smell. In warm settings and cold, the fragrance doesn't "warm up" and is a cold feeling fragrance. The other "Rare" fragrances all have a warm fragrance and my favourite Rare Pearl's is the complete opposite of Onyx. I don't smell any floral notes in Onyx, which remains like a man's cologne on me.

It’s so cute. Not too sweet, inoffensive, perfect for everyday wear, very girly, reminds me of Irresistible Givenchy.
