Rare Platinum

I'm not usually into AVON fragrances but this is very nice. I definitely get the grapefruit and what I think is tuberose. It's a white floral that is kept fresh with the lovely grapefruit. White flowers and you think there is a possibility of headache inducing screechiness. It's not here. Its a very linear fragrance so it does not change. If you want something delicious and feminine then do try this. Sadly it doesn't last long on me but I think it would have more umph in a warm atmosphere.

I was so excited to get tbis from Avon as the tester was lovely. A lot of Avon perfumes have similarities between them but this was different. It's almost an exact replica of Estee Lauder's Tuberouse Gardenia which I've always coveted. I just wish it lasted longer on me.

This is a beautiful, warm, lovely fragrance which is priced most excellently. I can't believe that I get it through Avon. They are excellent perfumers.

This review is for "Rare Platinum Intense" by Avon - I just ordered a sample of this - and this is a beautiful vetiver that wears so lightly that it is perfect for women to wear. This has a nice sweetness about it which allows this to become more feminine than other vetivers. This is nice, definitely worth sampling. This is a much different fragrance than Rare Pearls, Rare, Gold, or Rare Amethyst. Great perfume, definitely worth exploring further.

White flowers with a slight coconut base. Smells so much like a sweet sun lotion which i adore:) white flowers side of it reminds me of britney spears curious and sun lotiony coconut smell reminds of estee lauder sensuous nude. Great dupe for both! Very well done Avon.. might be a lil overehelming in summer if you live at a place with tropical climate but definitely a fine choice for spring.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this at first, but it was a grower. After 10 Minutes I began to appreciate the subtle creamy fragrance, and I could detect the woodiness too. It didn't last long on me and I kept topping up. But I liked this very much and I will definitely re-purchase. It has, in my opinion, the added bonus of being suitable for day or night.

Gorgeous heady tuberose. The second I smelled this I thought "HAWAII". It took me straight to the lushness of a tropical getaway under glowing sun and warm sand. I save it for tropical vacations because it fits so perfectly with that floral lushness, but oh, it's lovely to transport yourself away with a spray of this on your coat on a cold winter's day.

Quite a sharp, citrus, white floral with a sneaky hint of moth balls but not in a bad way. Fresh, clean, bracing. More of a mature lady scent.

On me its similar to Armani Code, but less cypre more synthetic white flowers:) Still its a beautiful scent

I am an Avon Rep. I’ve been wanting to try this for some time as it has been reviewed/led a nod to Madonna’s Truth or Dare, & Estée Lauder Tuberose Gardenia, both of which I own. HUH?!?!? I received my order today. It is like some people’s smell/nose perception: <——————————— And apparently, here is mine:———————————-> I don’t remotely smell one white flower. No woods. This blasted me with cut grapefruit reminiscent of the kind my mom served us in the ‘80’s for breakfast...kindly cut in half w/scored segments & granulated sugar generously sprinkled on top. (Risk vs.Reward, which is what is most certainly happening here as well). You decide. Next comes in a blast of musk. Like an inexpensive splash of men’s “tonic”/ -$ drugstore aftershave. And well, for my skin, that’s about it. If you enjoy an abrasive musk & holy vibrant citrus Batman juice at a $30 on sale price point, consider this. Our scent journeys are unique & sadly this one can’t be included in mine. I’ll bet it smells amazing on some people, because it is not this popular for no reason. I wish I could make it work. When I sniffed bottle I through is that car refresher? Maybe on skin it's different so I tried it, but still for me there was something about car refresher. I can sense there jasmine and citrus. Feminine, strong white floral, fresh, sweet and soapy. After about 15 minutes it was not so much car refresher anymore, but became even more soapy and had little bit vintage vibe. If you are looking for very soapy floral perfume this could be it.

Well, this is finally something different. I am not saying I like it, but from the gazillion of the new launches from Avon I have sampled this week, this is finally something intriguing. And I don't think this one will be available from Avon for a long time, because it's a difficult one and a bit evil. It says white grapefruit, narcissus and sandalwood in my catalogue. If grapefruit with narcissus together invoke the sense of coconut, and narcissus with sandalwood invoke the sense of tuberose, hm, I don't know, but I do smell them here. In the beginning it's quite pungent and sour, reminded me of celery actually, and a little of the Harajuku Lovers G with its sour and cottony coconut. After 15 mins it calms down into creamy tuberose with a touch of sour undertone to give it a metallic shine. I think Rare Platinum is indeed a suitable name for it.

As a fan of Avon, I was excited to see this released, but bummed that it didn't come to the US. HOWEVER, I believe it's still fairly easy to get on eBay. I tested it from one of the little 1ml wand samples given by a Fragrantican sister. This is quite lovely. It is cool and metallic . . . Definitely the name fits it. It's absolutely a tuberose scent, and I'm confused why that note isn't listed. I also get some other warmer florals in there, and the grapefruit, besides giving the metallic edge, certainly keeps it bright and cool. The woods center the scent, and the soapiness that comes out shortly after application, adds to the clean, fresh, cool feeling. Definitely a nice one for hot weather. If it lasted better I'd rate it higher, but as is, I have to give a 3/5 and say I wouldn't mind having a bottle for those sweltering Caribbean days!

Perfumes are worn in certain seasons for a reason-- each fragrance blossoms different in each season. Certain notes come out and some hide and they change with the weather. I have yet to find a perfume that smells the exact same all year round and I live in an all 4 seasons state. It would be a lot easier to have a signature if they all smelled the same in every kind of climate and temperature but they just don't. Certain fragrances just work better in cold weather, others like warmer weather, and then there are those that only like to play in the rain! They're all way too unique to wear whenever you feel like wearing them because you won't get what you're looking for if you're not wearing her in her preferred season.

I'm actually leaving a review for Rare Platinum Intense here because it is not currently listed. I have never tried the original Rare Platinum, so I'm not sure if Intense is very different or if this fragrance just works differently on me. As far as Rare Platinum Intense goes, I get basically no prominent floral notes. The fragrance is cold and metallic, a perfect representation of platinum. Seriously, I feel like I'm sniffing coins, but clean coins, not ones that have been in circulation. I hope that Intense gets its own listing soon so we can see if it does provide most people with a different experience from the original fragrance.

Fresh and flowery, non-invasive, light and with good persistence. Pleasant to wear like most perfumes of this Maison. Yes the pack is very cheap but don't be fooled .... I don't perceive the spicy-woody notes but the flowers absolutely do. This is why it is a fragrance that can fit perfectly into a spring period. For those who wear perfumes according to the seasons. For me, who do not observe any criteria, I wear this perfume when I want ...

I absolutely love this rich, deep tuberose. My bottle was only seven pounds from the avon brochure and smells like it was much more expensive. It's all about the tuberose, which is creamy with that vegetal note that good tuberose scents have. This is a bargain and I will be stocking up!

I’m reviewing rare platinum intense as well. It was listed as being an iris and Ambrette fragrance. I only get patchouli. No iris, no Ambrette. It’s a very strong patchouli. My son loves it. It last for days and days. If you love patchouli and want to save a buck.. you’ll love this.
