Rose Du Soleil

I received two sample bottles of this fragrance in a Christmas stocking, and now I want a full bottle! This is a simple scent with only three notes, but they mix well. The raspberry top note is present throughout, and is quite realistic, not too sweet, the rose is of the pleasantly old-fashioned powdery variety, and the patchouli dry down is not overpowering (which can be a problem with patchouli). Sillage and longevity are good. I was worried that Rose Du Soleil would be a boring perfume, but it is warm and womanly.

This just screams spring. This is fresh, slightly fruity, and very easy to wear. Even though there is no citrus in this, this fragrance almost has a lemon aspect to it. Something in this is very bright, like how lemon is. The rose in this is not heady, thick or cloying in anyway. It's also not a powdery rose. This scent profile is relatively soft, but definitely bright. The rose used here is a fruity sweet style of rose, but not jammy sweet rose. The patchouli is pretty minimal. It just give this fragrance a small pinch of earthiness. The green aspect is there, but this isn't a green dominant fragrance. Again, that part is minimal. All in all, this is a easy to wear fragrance. Not much going on, but perfect for spring and summer. Wear time is average. Nothing past 5 to 6 hours. You may get longer if you over spray, especially on clothing. To me, this is one of the most tolerable/easy to wear, floral fragrances ever.

I can smell both raspberry and rose quite strongly, but patchouli – not really. I actually can’t detect patchouli in this. This scent is a very sweet, warm rose. It’s not baking cookies sort of sweet, but more of a fruity, juicy sweet. I find it rather strong, so a light spray will do for me. I am on the fence about how I feel about this one. I believe this line of perfumes is meant to be layered (hence the name LYRD). This one is not quite a soliflore but is rather simple, so I think it would work well being layered. It is rather linear, so it can be worn on its own when you are in the mood for a rose scent with a bit of something extra.

Rose and patchouli scent with maybe a hint of raspberry. I get something green, like herbal or minty- probably the patchouli. I can't get raspberry or any sweetness like others mentioned below. It has an alcoholic opening but it fades quickly. Performace is pretty good, about 4 hours on skin. It's an ok scent for me, good for layering with fruity fragrances.

This gives me bitter rose. Like a sweaty rose. Not a fan.
