Silky Soft Musk

I was absolutely elated to discover that this is identical to Avon's Vanilla Soft Musk that was one of three signature scents as a teenager in the late 90s/early 00s (the other two being Avon's Peach Soft Musk and Night Magic Evening Musk). Silky Soft Musk is a very basic frag that costs just over a fiver, but it's such a sweet, creamy, warm powdery scent that makes me want to be cozy on a fall or winter afternoon. I find it's not sickeningly sweet, but I can see that it might become that way in hot weather. It lasts about 5-6 hours on me, becoming a gentle skin scent after about the 3rd hour. I haven't tried layering it yet but once fall comes I'll be layering it over my autumn Bath & Body Works lotions and sprays. I love it enough that even though it definitely smells like the 90s, I'll be using the heck out of this and will probably need to replace it soon. But with how cheap it is, I can afford to stockpile several bottles if I so wish!

This is exactly Soft Musk Vanilla as I wore in the mid-1990s. I'm overjoyed I've found this once staple of my fragrance wardrobe again after so long. Its absolutely delightful. It has a cosy and almost spicy vanilla heart which isn't too chemical smelling or sweet. I'm a woman in her early 40s now and I don't feel it's too young for me at all. Granted, there aren't a huge range of notes in this fragrance but when it smells so good, who the hell cares?! For a fiver you get 50mls. That is some value for money! For any Avon Vanilla Soft Musk fans still left out there, save your cash and stop scouring fleabay for outrageously priced bottles of the original - this is the good sh*t right here. For those not initiated already - try it, you never know, you might like it!

I truly like '' Silky Soft Musk Avon for women'' in bottle with yellow flowers and only this particular perfume, it is sweet and comforting .However, after spraying need to wait for sometime up to 30 minutes to get a real sweet smell. Furthermore, i hated ''soft musk'' the discontinued and the new one and in the bottle with pink flowers, these two smells like baby powder (considering i juts had a baby ) is a big no for me:)) I will continue Silky soft musk(yellow flowery bottle) only.

Wow, this is amazing! I expected it to be quite generic, boring and watery. Instead I got a gentle cashmere feeling. The opening is musky, but within 30 seconds the scent becomes really sweet and comforting. Usually lily is too sharp to my nose, but here is pure heaven! Sillage is heavy on me, hope the longevity won't disappoint me, but for such incredible price I would grab at least three bottles of this beauty.

... wow! I love it! Buyed online as usually after reading your rewiews, I found at a very low cost, now I have it and it was love at first spray! Creamy, delicate vanilla, with the musk just the right smell, not overpowering vanilla, and lily on base to give a little freshness so vanilla is not too sweet. Very well made perfume, try it if you love vanilla like me!

At first I was dissapointed, because it reminded me of some average, dated cheap perfume from my childhood. After a few hours -yes, it is lasting- I got whiffs of slightly spicy, nice, kind vanilla. Still very generic, but affordable and amiable. Simple, but not as bad as I thought. I am getting to love it, because I like to wear it.

I interpreted the slightly husky note in this as cedar, and was surprised it wasn't one of the listed notes. It is a vanilla-forward cushy musk that glories in cold weather, floating off coat sleeves and scarves huddled against the wind. It makes me think of woolly jumpers, warm custard, and freshly cut wood.

How awesome is this? I mean, really. It's quite simple and poor of notes, but rich at the same time. It's musky-vanilla and so comforting for the cold seasons, so warming and calming. Lasts 2-3 hours, which is close to moderate, but for the low price it's acceptable. I would repurchase.

In Slovakia the notes listed are raspberry, lily of the valley and madagascan vanilla. I definitely can ́t detect any raspberry here. It smells wonderful! It ́s soft, warm and creamy in a pleasant, not synthetic way.

I've swapped my bottle of Soft Musk for a bottle of this, and it smells so much better to me. I can't say it resembles anything in particular, it just has a very comforting scent, and it lasts for hours

Creamy, delicious, comforting, lasts so long when sprayed on a scarf or a coat,feminine warm. Soft and silky goodness, perfect autumny scent. For a scent of Avon I am so impressed :)))

I really like this one actually. It's a bit sweet for me in a way that I wouldn't personally wear this in weather warmer than 24°C but I think it can be a good affordable everyday scent. It's sweet it's vanillary it's powdery and lightly floral. Lasts quite long for an EDT. Doesn't have that same-Avon type smell either. This is my first ever scent I've ever tried from this line and I'm impressed how good this smells despite being an Avon fragrance (which I tried a lot from and they're usually not my cup of tea) I think I'll reach for this every now and then when I feel lazy but I still want to have a feminine vibe while being cosy at the same time. I agree with Noelanii as well, it also reminds me of vanilla custard and wooly jumpers, like it kinda smells like how a cloud looks in a summer sunset when it's painted in warm colours, in a way.

I have this one for quite some time. At first, I could smell mostly the vanilla, but now, after trying it again since a long time ago it sits more floral than vanilla on me. It's overall sweet, delicate fragrance - indeed a bit powdery I feel like, I don't smell much musk, mainly floral with hint of vanilla. For it's price is not a bad one, the bottle is also practical if you wear it in your purse. I can't exactly put my finger on what it smells like. It stays close to the skin, longevity is moderate. At first spray there is bit of alcoholic smell to it but then turn into well blended scent. It's not my scent I feel like. I feel a bit neutral about it honestly. Not bad, not great :)

Simple, comforting, warm and less cloying than the original Soft Musk. I love this, it'll be a great comfort scent during Autumn. Here in UK the Avon brochure states that this scent includes honeysuckle and raspberry: I couldn't see how they'd work but they really do. This is unpretentious. It is what it is. Great for those rainy evenings when you want to snuggle up with a throw watching a favourite DVD whilst drinking tea or hot chocolate. Mmmmmm . . .

Starts off dated, scratchy and cheap due to the lily note, but after 5 minutes, I can only detect lovely, sweet vanilla powder on my skin. For this price, I really don't think you can get any lovelier than this - because, indeed, it is very lovely. Big like.

I found the airy, powdery and clean vanilla I was looking for : not a pudding, not a cake, nothing eatable, but a lovely parfume, cuddly and comforting. Simple, complete.

I like it. Its sweet, but soft. Will continue buying it.

Now I ́am definitely sure I just CAN ́T depend on fragrantica (or any other) reviews, not even a smell from AVON catalogues, where it smelled really interesting for me so, even though I said to myself before that I am done with AVON - don ́t get me wrong I really liked some of their fragrances, for example Today, Perceive, Far away, ... - but I just want to "move forward" if you know what I mean :). But as I said, I just can ́t get bad reviews about Perceive, which i liked quite a lot same as I can ́t get good reviews on this Silky soft musk. It ́s not totally bad at all (as for example another perfume from Avon - Premiere Luxe Gold Blush - EWW) but it ́s quite synthetic to my nose and also for me it has very poor staying power same as a projection. So, I ́m sorry but for me no :( But I kinda believe that there is problem with my skin becouse I like it from the bottle, It ́s just not so yummy on my skin , unfortunatelly

Vanilla becomes overwhelming soapy, yucky musk. Can't stand this one

All these good reviews here have lured me into buying this, I absolutely hated it, had a very sharp bizarre scent to it on my skin, I felt so unpleasant wearing it. Nothing soft about this on my skin.

No problem with blind-buying, as long as I get honest juices at sensible prices. The unknown is exciting indeed, although I don't take inconsiderate risks either. Actually, trading for real-life experiment in physical stores whenever possible is still preferable by me lol. Following that reasoning, I'd choose anytime a humble drugstore body mist that makes me feel good, over glorified mediocre EDT hiding behind flamboyant ads emulating shallow, purpose-void, lavish lifestyle, bagging a glamorous GF/BF or promoting trendy luxuries and superficiality in general (but who am I to crush anybody's dreams?!) I'm grateful the vast majority of my blind buys is successful. This one was not, 8 months ago. Lily and vanilla don't go along and should never be left in a room alone: discordant, scratchy, attention-seeking brats. Such a miserable fail it immediately joined the discard bag. While tidying up my stuff this winter, I sniffed it cos hey, we never know. I remarked it behaved so much better and mellowed down considerably. Therefore, I've decided to spritz my arm and forgot about it while resuming my house chores. 2h later, I noticed a lovely, comforting scent; but couldn't identify where it emanated from. I couldn't believe I was swooning over previously-loathed Silky Soft Musk - which resisted remarkably well all those endless hand washings that usually occur while exercising ancillary activities. Still, not so musky, not so vanillary. Powdery floral with gentle touch I would associate with motherly affection. The bottle reintegrated the perfume shelf.

This is a nice scent that reminds me a little of the 90s! I used to wear something in school called Cherry Vanilla (drugstore perfume?) that I think this reminds me of, minus the cherry! I think this perfume is too heavy when sprayed on clothing,but if I spray once before dressing it is a nice musk scent. A bit similar to Cashmere Mist at times too, but changes from that after applied. I think this is a very wearable and nice musk scent for all seasons.

One of my favorite perfumes from Avon!I discovered it recently and I love it.Although it's just eau de toilette,it's really persistent on me.And the smell si sublime.I stopped using Avon perfumes for a long time and a month ago decided to try this perfume and I don't regret it.Now I have other perfumes,such as Imari Elixir,which I love.Avon really evolved on perfumes

This is what perfume name say - vanilla, musk with soft, bit refreshing silk feel. Mainly vanilla. Gourmand and sweet. There is something intimate. I can sense little bit scratchy chemicals. Quite soft, but because so gourmand can get other people nauseous. After about hour it became softer and reminded me Si Giorgio Armani.

I have had this for three years now but, no matter the interval of time I give it between the attempts to like it, the scent has not a thing to do with vanilla or musk or silk. It's sharp even though I cannot detect what note is it I am catching.

This is very vanilla heavy, and not in a good way, unless that's what you were looking for. I much prefer Soft Musk and didn't find this very musky at all! It's very sweet, but frankly, bang on trend.

A gentle, silky , creamy vanilla and musc scent. Smells like an expensive body lotion :)

Too much vanilla. It drowns the musk and smells synthetic.
