Skip A Beat

I. Love. This. Perfume!This is very Bergamont heavy however it has this feminine and meadow touch to it. I feel like on a bad day it might give me a little bit a headache but it’s still very light and fresh. This is perfect and is the perfect size to throw in your purse for touchups. It’s very date friendly.

As soon as I saw these "Stories" scents from Avon, I decided to splurge and buy all four of them. I'm so glad I did! I enjoy each one of them. This beauty opens up with a blast of lemon, followed almost instantly by luscious waterlily. The musk appears pretty soon, and the trio mingle through the dry down. Beautiful and very comforting! My only complaint, however, with this frag and will all of the "Stories" scents is their horrible longevity and non-existant sillage. In my opinion these seem to me to be fragrances worn for the wearer's enjoyment. At least on my skin, these are not strong enough to be worn for the purpose of having others notice your fragrance. To me, these are not "worse" because they are quiet, but merely different. Since this becomes a skin scent on my skin within an hour or so, I plan to wear it to bed. Surely sweet dreams will be delivered by such a lovely, comforting scent enveloping me.

Skip A Beat is a nice choice for exercise or cleaning house: I always feel a bit more energetic when I wear it. Even that is not enough to put it into my love category but definitely my favorite of the Avon Stories collection, and the only one I enjoy wearing. It's the freshest of all of them with lemon blossom, water lily and musk, quite linear, doesn't last beyond a couple of hours on skin and one that I'd consider a skin scent, so at the rate I spray this on and around myself it won't last long with the tiny bottle it comes in. It kind of reminds me of a discontinued Avon scent called Shine, although that one had a stronger jasmine floral component than this one. Spirited and uncomplicated.

Unfortunately, this was an immediate no for me. I get harsh lemon blast (reminiscent of lemon wood polishing products). After 15 or so minutes, water lily begins to appear, but it does nothing to soften that harsh lemon. Not the soft lemon blossom scent I was hoping for, this is more like straight lemon cleaner.
