Surrender

Confession from an unfaithful lover: Surrender, my love. I know I've been trying to find another scent for a very long time. I'm trying to prove myself I can love many others, just like I love you. I've been buying many different scents and to be honest, I'm having fun with them, I sleep with them, I go out with them, in the morning, in the evening, in the office or at home; I have a love affair with each and every of them. I don't even sniff you for weeks but whenever I get back to you, I'm under your spell. You are the only one I never get bored with; you are the only perfume I bought more than ten (yes, 10) times. So, on my knees, I'm asking you to be my signature scent ;) Anyway, Enough nonsense :D What I'm trying to say; it's hard for mo to accept this affordable Avon perfume is the best one I've ever smelled and believe me I've smelled thousands! I do like many different perfumes and when I buy them I enjoy using them but none but very few of them made me buy it again. But surrender; I've been using it for more than 10 years and I'm never fed up with it. Yes it's cheap, yes it's linear and yes it's avon (not hermes, thierry mugler, bvlgari etc.) and I admit it's my number one....

I bought this perfume many years ago, sometime in 2005 - I actually caught it the last time it was in the Avon monthly catalogue. It was my first real perfume. I am not a huge fan of Avon perfumes, because in my humble opinion they all smell the same, flowery and sweet, which is fine and pleasant but a bit boring. However, every once in a while, they make something that stands out - and my my, Surrender was it. And my my, the compliments I was getting for this one! Every other day someone would stop me in the street to ask what perfume it was, and I even had a few of people confuse it with Hugo Boss for women (it had great sillage, obviously). It's been quite a while so I cannot recall every note, but I remember the distinct spicy quality of the fragrance, something like pink pepper. Imagine my surprise when I saw it here and realized it's not listed in the notes. This spicyness gave balance to the sweetness coming from amber, which can be hit or miss for me. Anyway, once I went through that bottle, it was discontinued, and there ends this sad story. All I can say is, Avon, bring it back.

The best perfume avon has ever made. This one was my favourite for years. Whenever I would change a place of living this beauty would accompany me. I loved it so much it travelled all around the world with me from EU to China to Indonesia, to the UK.. when COVID started Surrender got stuck in China and I waited for two years to be able to send it back. When a friend of mine was sending my belongings back to Europe I just said - just send me that perfume,for the rest I don't care. That's how much I loved it. It's not just a scent, it's memories of wonderful years that are behind me.. with each sniff I go back 20 years ago. I still have half of this treasure scent and I am rarely using as it's pure gold.. and let me tell you something it hasn't changed a bit. Dear Avon if you are reading this, instead of making 3000 similar perfumes with the same ingredients, just bring back this one and keep making unique scents like you used to. Like far away, far away royale, sensuelle, glow nightfall, celebre.. Bring those back and I won't ever buy designer perfumes 😆

Ahhh....love at first sight (sniff):) remember wearing this in high school, wanted to order this again during studies but it already was discontinued....now I found it again on ebay and omg....smells exactly same, perfect blend of amber citrus patchouli and musk....i get Goosebumps when I smell this, the sexiest thing I have ever smelled, for sure has unisex vibe. I hope this is not my last bottle. I tried to replace this with YSL elle and perked de lalique but both just don't have the vibe surrender has. I have many designer parfumes and I just can't believe avon is my favorite one after all.

Nice, powerful orange peel, a little bit of sugar; strong but not overwhelming, long lasting, fresh and hot at the sime time; had been my signature scent for a very long time till Avon stopped to market it! I'm very happy to hear it's coming back :) There were some perfume names here alleged to remind this scent, some nina ricci and escada perfumes as far as I remember, I tried them hopefully but nope! Nothing compares to surrender; it's simple, genuine and affordable; it was a mistake to withdraw it from market; it is one of the most quality scents of avon (in my opinion, the only one :))
