Windjammer

All my life I've been at least passing familiar with nearly every classic Avon for men, naturally including this one. Recently I found a sealed boxed swordfish bottle for a steal of a price. It was light-proof and (I assume) reasonably temp controlled, because I just splashed some on and it is fresher, crisper, and brighter than my previous bottles were. This exact stuff, if it lasted longer, could be sold today under a pretentious name and a lot of guys would pay well for it.

Wind Jammer is pretty much exactly as described here - mossy, earthy, green and fresh spicy. I am a woman and I love to wear scents like this. My horse-shaped bottle dates back to sometime in the 1970s, and it contains a very heavy handed dose of real oak moss, the kind I love and miss so much in current fragrance offerings. I am always seeking out that authentic banned oak moss, and I found it here. This one is a gem in my opinion.

If you crave a large dose of raspy, peppery, and evidently authentic oakmoss, hunt down a vintage bottle of Avon's Windjammer cologne. Great stuff, and well worth the low price, you will not be disappointed. I love it for layering. Breathes a new life into the modern formulations of Cabochard & JL Scherrer.

I first smelled this at my friends house in 1972. WOW, I was blown away. I thought it was gorgeous.

Obtained a 2oz splash bottle (IOB, "Gentleman's Collection", a rectangular molded oriental glass design) of this somewhat impulsively. It is immensely crisp - prominent green spicy citrus - and definitely brings to mind sunny days and outdoor activities, particularly involving water. As intended: sailing would absolutely be a vibe this emits. This fragrance pairs well with the single "Fishman" by The Beginning of The End. Neroli, Petitgrain, Oak Moss, Aldehydes, and maybe black pepper.
