Work Your Magic

This is my favourite of the stories collection! I love sweet scents and this definitely sweet, like a sticky sweet like honey. I smell like a beautiful vanilla and honey dessert. Its sillage is not strong and it does fade to a skin scent on me quite quickly, which I actually like. I put it on in the morning before I start my makeup, and by the time I get to work or wherever I need to be, I can still smell it, but only those who are physically close (like a hug distance) can smell it too. I don’t like leaving a trail of scent behind me. To balance the sweeteness, I have sometimes been layering this with Avon’s Soft Musk and the two of these together are just lovely! My second favourite of this line is Skip a Beat, which I also find to be a sweet scent, but lighter. I like Cloud Nine but don’t love it, which is surprising because it’s also supposed to be sweet and have a ‘whipped cream’ accord. I don’t dislike Something Amazing but I don’t reach for it. In a nutshell, I like all four, but love this one!

I have three out of the four Avon Stories scents - Something Amazing, Cloud Nine, and Work Your Magic. Work Your Magic is my favorite of the group. Honey heavy with a bit of apple and then the lotus blossom comes in later. It's different and unique than other perfumes I have since I don't have many honey-based fragrances. The biggest problem with this (and the other Stories I bought) is it has no longevity and its sillage is so weak. If I wanted a skin scent, it would be fine but I usually like my fragrances a little stronger. I still love the smell of this though, so I'm going to keep it to use for my pleasure only. I do think this is versatile and could be worn year-round in any weather.

Work Your Magic does smell like a modern take on Night Magic! I had completely forgotten about Susan Louise's review when I first tried WYM, but upon first spritz, I immediately thought, "This must be the one someone compared to Night Magic!" WYM is softer and sweeter than NM. It is less musky, and in keeping with the rest of the Avon Stories line, it is sadly rather weak. But its pedigree is unmistakable. The name and the colors on the bottle are not coincidence. I still have one Story left to try, but so far, Work Your Magic is my favorite one.

A pretty honey/apple/lotus scent that is very soft, but preferable for a body spray for me as I can hardly smell it at all after about half an hour. Completely expected when I look at the pyramid. Not a bad-smelling fragrance, but not much worth the effort, if I want to wear perfume this is not one I'd choose. I would have liked this quite a bit as a young girl maybe around 12 years old. That said, it is a pretty smell and I'm glad I got to try it, I got it for a birthday gift but would not purchase myself.

Work Your Magic reminds me of another Avon scent - the classic Night Magic Evening Musk. But I don't read any similar notes. Work Your Magic is especially wearable for those who don't want a sweet scent. And the blue/black bottle is attractive.....Price is great when on sale at the Avon website or on eBay.

This is basically a very watered down version of eau so sexy by Victoria's secret. This is very, very, very weak. It has no projection, no lasting power, no nothing. Especially after only 1 hour. The scent is nice for what it is,but the quality is horrendous. I've had body mist project more than this, and last longer. You can DEFINITELY over spray,and over spray some more, to your hearts absolute content.

This scent is intense but not strong if that makes sense. I use this as an after shower spray as my first step in layering my scent. The only real note detectable is the honey but it's more of a fake honey smell. I get zero green apple and just a whiff of saffron to add some dimension. I paid $6 for mine so again I don't want to be demanding but let's just say you get what you pay for.

EXTREMELY linear. Nothing but lotus blossom. Like literally nothing but lotus with no hint of honey OR apple notes. Very fleeting as well, with barely any projection. As Randy would say "That's going to be a no from me dawg."

I am so confused by this one...I do not detect any of the listed notes. All I can smell is powder :(

I splurged and bought all four of the new Avon Stories perfumes. Overall, I like all four of them. If I would use only one word to describe the collection, it would be comfort. This one is definitely sweet, but not cloying. The first thing I detect after spritzing is a mix of the apple and honey, and then the lotus appears, very, very gently. I like it how it Is, but I would love more or a stronger presence of the lotus. For me the dominate note would have to be the apple, although I detect a bit of soft musk, which isn't listed in the notes. This is a feel good, enjoy your perfume on yourself type of scent. On my skin the longevity is poor...it is a skin scent within an hour or so. The sillage is non-existant. I enjoy quiet scents like these, however, so no sillage is not always a bad thing. Like a special little treat all to myself. I'll probably wear this to bed because it is very relaxing and soothing to me. In addition, it is so mild I doubt my perfume-hating husband will ever detect it. Alternately, I find this scent extremely relaxing. I may bathe in it on bill day to keep me calm!

This is so unique. I had to look up the notes to determine what made it so. I think the predominant note is apple; it's sharp without being cloying.The apple is smoothed out with a tad of honey, then there's little musk in the background. It's Avon, so the sillage is not strong nor is it complex. That's not a bad thing!! This fragrance is such a departure from the usual smell-alike Avon scents. Well done!
