Dark Temptation

🤎🌟🪷🌟🤎 Spoiler: "And seriously now: Isn't life hard enough to pass on something beautiful just because it's cheap?" Let's make it simple. Everyone loves it. They're just ashamed to admit it. It will work for you alone, or layered before using a perfume. The most practical sexy clean déodorant, for those who don't like aquatics, citrus, or smelling like a deodorant or soap. The other day I stepped into the TRX class and all the posh women were, "Oh wow, smells good, smells amazing! You wearing men's Mugler?! Wow, wow, lovely!" Every single person you'll encounter will compliment it enthusiastically and enjoy it if they won't recognize it. The ONLY thing the crowd won't like is when you tell them it's a $5 shrewd trickery they derive joy from. And... that's a psychological social issue. Not a theme of the olfactory realm. What does it smell like? Base alone feels like aromatic unisex ambroxide yellow frag, sparkles and fizzling like Armani Emporio DNA. Very pleasant. That's the element giving the stardust vibe. The strong notes are cocoa inclined tonka and milkshake but without being sugary sweet or lactonic, which I LOVE, because one, so rare to find that chocolate beans tone without the cloying sugar. Two, not being a creamy scent, I can layer it with perfumes on a night out. I don't like being deodorant free. Something anyone in the Mediterranean can understand. I guess that's why they claim it's the smell of dark chocolate when it really isn't anything bitter; their purpose was to signal to the consumer; no sugary scent. A great base for pre perfume. This is my winter deodorant, and I'm a girl, so I guess I don't care about other girls knowing my magic halo didn't cost $350. If you're a guy who cares what other girls think, then just answer "Tonka Cola Mancera," "Boy Toy Moschino," or "Mugler A*Man" when the girls dogpile all over you giving you compliments and asking what smells so good. It's very much cousins of those three, with those frags being much better naturally, and me suspecting A*men was the inspiration, but this deodorant is very neutral without being citrusy and that's why it's a must. It's like a simplified gourmand niche in a people pleasing young format. I don't really get why guys who use things that smell beautiful but are cheap are considered douchebags. I think it's kinda sad. I wouldn't want to stop using it just because people are embarrassed when I reveal it's a cheapie, nonetheless a men's cheapie. As for me, I don't care what others think. I'm not a total dingbat... I DO understand that people are enthusiastic, and then you tell them, "Oh, it's a $5 product that you're excited about." That can cause embarrassment in some cultures. A complete infringement of some rules of etiquette, But does that justify the hate? or the fallacy myth of this not smelling good? By far, no. It only shows lack of character or self confidence. Don't listen to the haters. This wouldn't be a worldwide best seller on almost every single continent under two names (Lynx in Australia/Europe, Axe in the USA) if it were anything short of lovely pleasantness. I just love it because it lifts my mood. And seriously now: Isn't life hard enough to pass on something beautiful just because it's cheap? Having said all that, let's admit it: a young zetsy elegant non citrus deodorant isn't at all easy to come by; Which makes this super useful, versatile, practical and handy for those who don't like going out without a deodorant yet don't want the citrus to mess with their perfume of choice. 🤎🌟🪷🌟🤎

This is a GREAT layering tool for D&G The One, specifically the EDT (though I suspect it will work with a few of the other ones also). I would recommend actually getting the body wash if you can find it as well as the spray deodorant. You probably don't need to use the body wash more than just using it to lather and rinse off before you exit the shower...so you can actually use something else as your primary cleaner. Just go easy on the spray (of course hit the arm pits) and then spray on The One EDT in the places you normally would (for me either side of the neck and occasionally the wrist to add projection when in movement). This also works well with Lataffa's Asad Bourbon & Khamrah (though that's already pretty strong) and Azzaro's Wanted EDP. During the time this appeared, I was in my prime of realizing that D&G The One EDT would be one of my signature scents. I grew up in England (in the 90s) so have been WELL aware of the ability that Lynx (the original company Axe came from) has on the opposite sex. This is one of the examples that proves the "haters" of Axe/Lynx wrong. The main issue of course is the marketing it had as well as the popularity that forced it to be every where and tiring women out from smelling it. There are a few other Lynx/Axe body wash scents that are amazing for layering. Some are worth keeping a spare bottle of, this is definitely one of them.

Oh God, Dark Temptation <3 Honestly, is one of the best scents i've ever smelled. Is dark (duh), sweet, masculine and sexy (Sexy like a tall, mysterious guy). Is not sweet like A*Men, which reminds me of when you try to put melted candy in a freezer to get hard again. This one, in my opinion, is ONLY for the night (is a body spray, but is HEAVY at when applied). And is totally a crowd-pleaser. It has that "Body odor" thing, but i think that every body spray has it, must be something chemical used in the making of this kind of product, not a note (and maybe our brains link that smell to body odor since we all know someone who sweats a lot and spray Axe after it). Ans honestly, that "body odor" is not a sweaty mess-gyn locker thing. Is that kind of warm, hot body odor (not that stale thing after you run for an hour) The thing that keeps it from being generally used, i guess, is that since is a body spray, is not gonna stay on your skin for a really long time. Projects well while it lasts, but doesn't last that much. This is one thing that fragrance snobs are missing out. If you find it anywhere, PLEASE, give it a try and forget is a drugstore body spray. Forget the price (here in Brazil you can get the whole line - body spray, antiperspirant and shower gel for less then 10 dollars) and try it.

Greetings everyone, I must review this fragrance/scent. It is absolutely perfect example that cheapie scents can bear some quality. While I was living in Netherlands, I noticed many different types of AXE cosmetics in local stores due to the fact that AXE is produced there. In the Netherlands it is possible to purchase both deodorants and EDT versions of AXE scents. Axe Dark Temptation is actually not that dark. It is sweet, fresh, light and delicious frankly speaking. Vanilla and Chocolate and Sugary Caramel are the main notes. It does have that LE MALE feeling to it, somewhere in the background, however this is one of the best AXE scents. Another I could recommend is AXE Africa. Axe products are synthetic, simple, but it does not make them bad. I have smelled plenty of 30USD frags that project much much inferior quality. If you have a chance grab AXE Dark temptation and AXE anarchy EDT versions. They are amasing for their price range. Longevity is good and projection also. It lasts hours but is not a beast. All in all 9 in cheapie category. PS. It is a good time to war it since it is less popular than a few years ago. Would suit someone in the 18-30 years group, or anyone who wants to feel happy and refreshed! good luck anyone!

Let me start out by saying I do not like chocolate. As a woman, I only enjoy it when it’s that time of the month. Otherwise I’m a white chocolate girl. Anyways, the only chocolate perfume I can think of loving right now is Dame Perfumery’s Chocolate Man EDT (which performs so much more than what we think when we hear EDT). AND THIS AXE MIST!!! 😱 I don’t care if Dark Temptation is made into a body wash, shampoo, conditioner, anti-sweat powder, lotion, hand cream, deodorant, body mist—my life will *not* be complete until an awesome-performing Dark Temptation EDP is in my life!!! I feel like Alexandria Fragrances, Montagne, or even Genre could “dupe” this body mist into an extrait or eau de parfum... Just not sure if there would be enough interest. People be snobby, even if it’s about a scent they’ve never even smelled. ☹️

Even though it last 15 minutes and is very weak. Purely off of scent this is one of the best things I’ve ever smelled. If axe ever made an edt of this i would be the first person to buy it. This is fragrance has help me break the axe stereotype for a few people. I remember I had to go somewhere quick and so I just spray some on myself and a lady told me I smell really good. But when I told her it was axe she refused to believe me. I remember one time when I went to work with this on, the mixture of DT and the kitchen made me smell so Gourmand. I was told I smelled like a giant Cinnamon Roll. I personally smelled more French Toast but still it was amazing. Edit: Apparently theres an edt, reviews I’ve seen don’t make me confident enough to want to buy it though.

wife beater, heavy coat, well cared for leather boots crushing dead leaves ,,, i thought it would be chilly enough to keep a square of chocolate in my back pocket ,, this is a true homosexual's deodorant , a cushioned sweetness with a teeth-sharp whif of citrus & what could only be called "lockeroom clean"— this is not your average boys deodorant ,,, it leans into its soapiness ( a perfect compliment to my menthol shampoo ) and lasts long enough that , by the end of a long day (or two— i have the 48 hr deodorant version (desperate times = desperate measures) ) it melds seductively with the smells of a "real man" ,, pair with : body odor dark spirits weed smoke harsh black coffee blackened fingertips day old underwear ( from an unplanned "sleepover" )

Weird how they managed to make a scent that is relatively fresh and invigorating but smells of wet chocolate-patchouli and is no typical blue freshie bullshit. To be exact this has a wet in texture chocolate with fresh fruitiness and some backbone of patchouli paired with aromatic sage. It's a really good mix of gourmand X aromatic fougere. In my country Greece some supermarkets still have the old EdT version of this back from 2013. They don't last long but for 13 euro per 100 ml I went ahead and bought some 3-4 bottles as backup. Axe typically sucks, but they really outdid themselves with this one.

Nostalgia. Dark Temptation 3 set (shampoo, deodorant, body spray) was a stocking stuffer present one Christmas in high school from my mother. Absolutely loved it more than any other Axe. Walking around with chocolate body spray & mixing with lavender deodorant was legendary. Tons of compliments especially when no one else was wearing gourmands. Most of the masculine stuff was too big and invasive. Another great and light Axe favorite back then would have been Excite. Only 2 ones I trusted. Memories. At least now I don’t have the friends begging to use up all of my spray. Miss those days though.

Got a "good" bottle of the aftershave and it smells wonderfully layered and even subtle. Better than the EDT version which I also own, and better than the body spray. With the aftershave in good condition, you can douse yourself in it, both on skin and clothes, and get the strength just right. The EDT isn't conducive to this. Whatever the concentration, this is miles ahead of Playboy and Adidas releases, because those two each have a very specific, plasticky kind of alcohol? smell that ruins all their releases for me.

VARSITY VALENTINES' CHOCOLATE & Cologne. A high-school romance; Valentine's chocolates seen through a wash of locker-room aromatics; headshop patchouli; a Varsity jacket; butterflies; knees buckling. I imagine this is what the teenager David wore in the novel Endless Love, right before he burnt down his ex-girlfriend's house in a desperate attempt to win her back with a fake rescue. It may not be sophisticated, but this has all the right stuff to make you feel like you're walking 20 feet above the ground. Enjoy!

I'm a girly girl and I love wearing it. It smells niche on me - I'm talking about the EDT/aftershave version - I think sexy girls can pull this off.. very nice fruity spicy chocolate 🍫 on my skin I get the fruit and the teď pepper and a lot of dark chocolate with some amber/vanilla with a hint of patchouli and fresh herbs. EDIT: the current reformulation is pretty good - better than ever! Anyway it's very weak - I wish they would come up with an EDP version 💋🤩

Better than I remembver, much better. Everyone has locker room or axe bomb high school memories with this one but this is actually very good. I recently wanted a chocolate fragrance and I have bought this bottle for about 7 dollars, 100ml EDT. NO REGRETS! Smells like fruity, spiced chocolate. It is very good and it satisfied my hunger for gourmands. I am wearing a layer of this and Scent Elixir today and it is surprisingly really good.

When you think about the smell of middle school locker rooms, this is what comes to mind. While it had been sprayed excessively in said locker rooms, you can't help but love the smell of that creamy chocolate and vanilla in this. I think for a body spray worth $2, you shouldn't expect designer quality and blend with this one, right? Nevertheless, this would make for a good fragrance for quick errands and casual use.

A seductive, sweet chocolate smell. The best chocolate smell I've tried along with Givenchy's now discontinued "Very Irresistible". And it's long lasting as well. I wear my shirt then pull the neck to the front & spray vertically from above for 1 second only. Then I do the same from the back. My body smells beautifully sweet yet manly for the next 10 hours or so. Axe's best selling deodorant!

Also, for those of you who would like to experience this fragrance in your skin for more time, i recommend ~Malbec Absoluto~, from O Boticario (Brazilian Brand), which unfortunately is not on the database yet. They're not alike, but Malbec has a great, lush, dark chocolate mixed with leather, and i think that you guys who appreciate this Axe body spray will also like that Malbec edition.

Daamn. As my first AXE deodorant fragrance, this slaps hard! I thought Fa was the best, but nah.. this is so good that it kinda reminds me of something like Azzaro TMW Parfum or JPG Le Male something.. And the best part about it is that it's so affordable. I have a feeling this will last as I just got it and, smelling this from my arm, bruh I just want to rip my skin to the bones. 🫦 🦴

wow I'm so excited this is in the encyclopedia. this is the one that has a spell on me. my bf, with whom I recently reunited, wears this. memories just flood when I smell this. this is his smell. when he's around he has this on. I love it's quirky chocolatey masculine sweetness. Im hesitant to buy him anything else because I want him to smell like himself. love

Thank you Fragrantica for adding this to the database at last. I LOVE this body spray, especially on my boyfriend, but I can rock this too. It's a masculine, sexy chocolate and doesn't smell cheap at all. It's not overwhelming and strong, but very yummy. Okay, I'm a bit biased by the funny commercial, but the scent really delivers. Impressive and memorable.

I adore this scent , it’s does smell like chocolate but there’s some freshness underneath that give this cleanliness, feels like eating a bar of dark chocolate while you sip any kind of pop really fizzy , there’s something cold underneath....
