Sahleb

My review is solely based on the fragrance as I have never tried the beverage. Sahleb is a soft, smokey, alcoholic, plastic-y coconut scent with a sprinkling of dry rose petals and a dollop of medicinal note, which gets more prominent as time goes by. The notes are just a tad discordant. The rose is very faint, the coconut is more present and there is a plastic note in there that I love but some of you may not so just a heads up. It stays close to the skin in silage and has decent longevity. It has some warm and cuddly qualities to it but the contrasting smoke and medicinal notes keep it from being a "lounging in your comfy sweater" kind of scent. I like the idea of Sahleb but it does not quite venture into the "wooow, amazing" territory so I am in search for the perfect rose/coconut combo... although it is lovely enough that I might just buy a bottle.

I love the idea of this scent. An exotic beverage with so many notes I love, but it doesn't stick to me. I have a difficult chemistry that tames many strong, natural scents. It smells like everything listed and is balanced towards warm and resiny. Not very sweet. I think a man who liked subtle scents could try this as well. I'm sorry it's not for me.

Along the lines of Traversee du Bosphore - someone mentioned plastic-y below, and this is something I just can't look over, in either scent
