Killer Vavoom

Under the sheets with your one, whispering promises of love and longing. A bite of chocolate, rose red lipstick and a soft kiss. The moment of sensuality, of desire and dark night. Her skin, smelling like flower, entrancing, enchanting, bewitching. His skin, carrying scent of his leather jacket, warming, alluring, teasing. If objective of Azman Perfumes was to capture a moment then believe you me, Killer Vavoom has done just that. Looking at notes card, one may assume it is inspired by Dior's Magnum Opus, Dior Homme Intense. But Vavoom is a different beast altogether. Yes, it does start off with waxy, melted, dark chocolate and yes, it does have that dusty iris akin to that of a makeup box. But it is the mid, where the magic of our killer lies. Juicy yet sweet Plum in combination with Jasmine creates an exotic aura while the suede like leather wrapping everything in its embrace. Overall tonality of the fragrance is creamy, dusty and somewhat animalic. Now Azman, does not list Oud as one of the notes which is strange considering that all other fragrances have it listed. But i can't help but associate that animalic tone to Oud from Combodi region. I found its performance to be THE best among all 7 releases with a 12+ hours of longevity and an arm length projection in first few hours. Even when it recedes to a skin scent, it never fails to entice you with its whiffs. So the question is, is Killer Vavoom by Azman Perfumes worth a full bottle? For me, yes. It is less challenging than Majnoon but it is extremely vibrant and mass pleasing.

What can I say about Killer Vavoom? Which is probably the best chocolate perfume I've ever tasted? Coming from the hand of the master Miguel Matos, one of the best and most daring and innovative perfumers of the moment, and Azman, a brand that apparently does not place great limits on its collaborators, it could not be otherwise. And it is that Killer vavoom is a perfect chocolate perfume for those who do not like chocolate since it is not a gourmand perfume at all. KV is animalic, dark, smoky, leathery, oily... With musks, leather and osmanthus flowers mixing with chocolate and taking the perfume in a very different way than usual. Come on, if you are a lover of gourmand chocolate perfumes, I would recommend that you do not buy this blindly since it can choke you if what you expect is a cocoa cream ice cream... But if you like intense and challenging perfumes. .. Then this one will suit you like a glove. Despite this, the aroma it gives off is very pleasant and I earn a couple of compliments when I wear it. I think I would use it at night and mainly in cold weather. The 10/10 of chocolate perfumes! scent: 10 Longevity: 9 Sillage: 6 Versatility: 6 Originality: 10 Overall: 10

This brand proves with every fragrance how artistic they are with creations that are nothing short from extraordinary This is a gourmand made right Chocolate or to be precise cacao so smooth so powdery it is a must try for sure As much as I loved this art piece sadly I have what I consider the greatest Cacao fragrance ever which is “cacao porcelana” I urge any gourmand lover to try this one if you are on the hunt for a new gourmand you shouldn’t ignore this beauty Performance is very good

On me this is a delicious dark chocolate, like an unsweetened bakers chocolate before drying down into a musky leather with a bit of the chocolate fruity forward. The leather of a couch by the fire, certainly "masculine" leaning but not in a rugged way. A work of art any way you slice it

"Vavoom" a 1950s American English slang meant to resemble the revving of a car engine “Va-va-voom” and is known colloquially as a term to describe something that has striking sex appeal in regards to a woman’s curvaceous body shape. So Killer Vavoom being a made-up exclamation of a 'deadly swoon' of sorts. I saw the notes and thought this would be right up my alley as I love chocolate notes in perfumery! Starts out as a sweet chocolate syrup fountain and dries down quite smoothly but to stale Tootsie Rolls and halitosis. An overdose of poopy, nutty, ambrette seeds and waxy synthetic musk and iris, toxifying a very sweet chocolate accord. It is a factorial smelling chocolate reminding me of large drums of rolled confections and food coloring spray paint. It really does smell of tootsie rolls, the waxy smell of a bag of old tootsie rolls you’d get for Halloween from the “nice old ladies” in your neighborhood. I still love tootsie rolls but I cannot justify at all smelling like one that's been fermenting in a toddler's mouth. Just a single spray and it makes me slightly nauseous. Upon drying down an hour later it is reminiscent of sour and milky halitosis. Also something Animalic. Body odor from Inside the nether regions of the body. Like a neglected empty shaker bottle that had chocolate flavor protein shake, if you've ever had the displeasure of smelling one. I don’t know but Killer Vavoom is not quite "Vavoom". Not sexy or womanly to me in the least, as the name would suggest, but rather youthful, ruffian and unkempt. It feels like there wasn't a clear understanding of the materials here, so something quite "chop-shop", naïve and rough has been made. Very distinctly "indie". I truly think less density, more nuance and a defter hand with the florals and animalics needed to be had when this was blended. I would honestly not want to smell like this. For better versions of scents like this try Francesca Bianchi. Her "Sticky Fingers" champions this and I personally think she is better at blending by comparison. If you live for the sweet, waxy, synthetic, chocolate top and can handle the slightly dry saliva-like and rotten undercurrent this will be fine for you. Try it! You may not find it as repulsive as I did and that would be completely fair. Knowing something of Miguel's connections he tends to be the harbinger of a collaboration with Christian Carbonnel... I really do not enjoy Carbonnel's work, and I sincerely hope he does not make an appearance at Azman. He did make Zoologist Camel. Though, admittedly I enjoy it the least out of the Zoologists I've loved. Nevertheless, I will withhold anymore judgment. Here’s a hygiene fact: If you want to prevent Halitosis and haven't the time or ability to brush your teeth you can keep halitosis at bay by staying hydrated with water. Drinking water washes bacteria out of the mouth and stimulates production of saliva that can continue to kill food bacteria and keep your mouth smelling fresh and healthy. Drinking water can also help in cleansing the dermis preventing it from expelling the harsh aroma-chemicals from fatty, fishy, garlicky or highly seasoned foods. Drinking water and stopping halitosis is both a good healthy habit for yourself and a consideration to others. Test first... 5/10 edit: My estimations have served me well. "And where the Matos goes the Carbonnel will follow... - or vice versa." I don't know how to feel. I am very hurt right now.

I'm trying to venture out of my warm, powdery, fruity, green and clean perfume comfort zones. Chocolate notes in perfumery have never been a favorite; and I approach Patchouli with extreme caution. The other notes sounded intriguing. Imagine you're on a roadtrip in a brand new, two row passenger seated mini-van made of straight up CHO-CO-LATE! Its scent is so very big upon entry. It calms down, but never dissipates. The upholstry is citrusy sweetness. Light fruitiness (plum?) Big Jasmine, Dusty Iris, and Quiet Musk hop in. Are the tires made of Licorice? Why do I smell Licorice? Brazen Patchouli joins the ride and takes up waaay too much space. We all go speeding down the highway together toward Villa Vanilla in Amber town for the drydown. 🤪 Leather was a no-show, for me. Maybe that was the Licorice note I detected? I'm glad I took this ride, but KV is just not my style. Taxi 🚕!

I get a very intense, musky leather. Something about this is super screechy and vintage in a mothbally way on my skin. The first hour is pretty off putting- like the smell of an old cabinet and hot peppers. Strange that the skin scent after that is sweeter and more pleasant but the sillage maintains that wood and chili pepper smell on me. Disappointed as I was hoping for a bit of a softer profile. Not having an atomizer might be to blame but for right now- it’s a no from me dawg. Good longevity.

On me it quickly turns into a sweet chocolate with an overdose of juicy red fruits. Definitely feminine, oily, greasy with a body cream appeal that contrasts with a dark smoking leather. The vanilla is strong here too. The direction is quite gourmand but somehow everything remains very dense, tiring and sticky so I wouldn't call it edible at all. More provocative than a sleepover scent. meh

Dusty, chocolatey leather accented with a sour rose and juicy plum. The rough and bitter veneer belies a sweet core, patchouli kinda playing both sides a bit here, but it's too pungent for my tastes. Moderately strong projection for 2-3hr, longevity 8-10hr.

An artistic Patchouli fragrance - in love with dusty chocolate Killer Vavoom is a fragrance that has fascinated me immensely ever since its release. I deeply appreciate its artistry and the way its notes are constructed. It feels unusual, stunning, and perhaps not immediately understandable on first sniff. The bottle has remained on my wish list all this time, and I’ve now nearly finished a 10ml decant while trying to decide whether I truly need a full bottle. I think I definitely do - but I can’t help worrying whether the fragrance is still the same as it was at launch. Four years have passed, the bottle design has changed, and the fear of reformulation lingers in the back of my mind. Killer Vavoom opens with an incredibly skillful dark chocolate accord, partly created through patchouli. A subtle dark plum note blends into the even darker chocolate, creating something far removed from the kind of chocolate note we’re used to. This is not a sweet, melted mass of confectionery chocolate - it feels more like powdery dark cocoa: slightly dusty, even faintly stale, but in an incredibly beautiful way. The florals remain mostly hidden to my nose, aside from the airy, powdery texture created by Iris and the dry leather nuance from Osmanthus. The leather feels old, patinated, and thick - worn, cracked, and weathered, yet never dirty. Oakmoss is equally masterful, and its earthy texture is noticeable almost immediately after the opening. At times, it feels like it’s trying to overtake the powdery chocolate, without ever fully succeeding. The result is a moss-covered dark chocolate accord that occasionally feels damp and muddy - which I know sounds strange. This fragrance is strange in the best possible way: distinctive, artistic, and clearly not created to please the masses. What makes Killer Vavoom even more intriguing is its structure. It feels as though it belongs to the chypre family, yet it lacks Labdanum and the sensual resinous warmth typically associated with it. Labdanum often contributes a leathery quality as well, and while leather is certainly present here, it appears more clearly in the base. The osmanthus leather feels entirely different from the richer, more resinous leather nuance of labdanum. There is amber in the base too, but to my nose it never create the same sensual blend of leathery, balsamic, ambery, slightly sweet, honeyed facets that labdanum can produce on its own or with Amber. Even the bergamot in the opening lacks the bright sparkle typically associated with chypres. The fragrance feels unmistakably dry from start to finish. There’s also a wonderfully restrained touch of vanilla - I love vanilla, but in larger amounts it would strip Killer Vavoom of its elegant uniqueness. Killer Vavoom feels like an almost forgotten fragrance now - you rarely see anyone talking about it on social media anymore. I highly recommend trying it if you enjoy artistic fragrances, especially if you love chocolate-tinged patchouli. It leans masculine-unisex, and there’s nothing particularly feminine about it. I do occasionally wear very masculine fragrances in public but this one, however, I’ve mostly reserved for wearing at home. It feels perfectly suited to autumn. Its earthy tones evoke cool, damp air after rainfall - the kind of weather that makes you want to light a fire in the fireplace and curl up beneath a blanket, enjoying the warmth. There is nothing like Killer Vavoom - not even close to it. Un mauvais odeur sur ma peau. Je pense que c'est l'association Osmanthus / Cacao qui ne fonctionne pas chez moi . Ambiance poussiéreuse, étouffante, ca sent le vieux .Le top du parfum chocolaté n'est certainement pas Killer Vavoom, ceux qui affirment cela n'ont pas senti MeltMyHeart de StrangeLove.

This reminds me of the horse stables I used to walk by. A little leathery, a little animalic (fecal, but specific to horses), with a hint of sweetness. Don't get me wrong, I think it's beautiful but it's probably not for everyone.

I have mixed emotions on this one. I kinda liked the first spray, but as time went on i didn't care much for it. I'm in total agreement from the review from Olympe - the second paragarph.

Chocolatey iris but with a very strong and everpresent musk, I don't like musk so its a NO for me. Great performance like almost all perfumes from this brand Try before you buy

To me it smells of blue cheese. Expensive french one. I appreciate the originality but I can't pull it off , definitely test before buying full size
