Azzaro Chrome Limited Edition 2015

A lost flanker in the Chrome line, in terms of smell, it's only a distant cousin. LE 2015 version is markedly less soapy/synthetic and more citrusy to start, then more green/aromatic, and in a very good way. For a summer fragrance, one of the best openings I've smelled, especially if you like citrus-tart-juicy-sweet blasts, then settling into a tea/fern/mate dd that really set's this scent apart. Longevity is average, sillage is quite strong, almost piercing at first, quickly softening (or could be a bit of a smell fatigue issue). Of course subjective, this is better/more unique than many of the beloved Aromatic Aquatics out there (ie L'Eau d'Issey or the classic Chrome. Scent grade- 4.5/5.

My dumb reach on hot Texas summers. It's Azzaro Chrome with a blast of Grapefruit instead of Lemon. I prefer regular Chrome but this is a good way to mix it up.

Unlike the 2015 Summer Edition of Azzaro Pour Homme which i really Liked, this Version of Chrome behaves quite in the Opposite way. it Begins with a rather Larger than Life, and a Very Promising Opening. it literally starts with a Big Bang of Citric Chemical Warfare as like assaulting the senses. i have to admit, the opening may be dangerously addictive, specially for those who used to sniff glue in their youth... the Problem with this though is that after that opening blast, which evaporates as surprisingly fast as it appears, what remains is more or less but noticeably watered down scent of the original Chrome. i would say the experience is rather Passive Aggressive with the latter being first. compared to other Chrome flankers, taking out the Grandiose opening, it's sillage and Longevity are on the softer and rather shorter side. i would conclude that it is a Nice and Interesting Summer Experiment. with very nice looking chemical blue fluid in the familiar shape Chrome Bottle with monochromatic Blue Printing on the Back. but to sum it up in it's proper propotions, Minus the opening i feel that i am getting close to twice the longevity and Sillage from my Bottle of Chrome United which is yet another Chrome flanker.

I mostly agree with @House Adams below, it's a brighter and more citrusy (not so much sweeter) opening to me. And it really does dry down to the OG. The OG was the first "metallic" fragrance I owned, and still really like it a lot even though I don't reach for it a lot. It's a bit nostalgic. And it's a good metallic, unlike a million out there that are not such a nose pleasing metallic like this one is in my opinion. This one is a great flanker as far as adding a well blended few notes that balance it differently and still have the original DNA. The only bad thing is the performance. It's pretty darn bad. The OG performs WAY better than this one. Good one to layer if you have both, so the DNA lasts longer. If you own neither though, I would still go with the OG due to performance. If you do get this one though, it is just as nice and inexpensive, so throw it in your gym/work bag and spray a couple more times during the day.

There is always a risk with those flankers because it's either a love or hate but mostly hate, I guess...However the 2015 issue of Azzaro Chrome Limited Edition is not bad at all. Actually, I quite enjoy this. The reason for this that they kept the original chrome DNA well and they added a little twist to it with extra citrus, little more white flower and a touch of watery note. These components work very well but always give enough space to the original DNA. Well, the longevity and the sillage is terrible but I was not impressed of these characters of the original's neither so I kinda got used to it. Azzaro Chrome - after 25 years later - is still one of the most original and well recognised scent in the market!

At first blast, my first reaction was "this is a rebottled Nautica blue" (a cheap $10 cologne). Smells identical to it. A synthetic, generic, cheap, clean basic scent. The dry down has a bit of a Nautica voyage vibe, so it cleans up nicely after 2 hours. The dry down I get a bit of warmth and spicy. The dry down to me almost doesn't feel like a summer scent, but something that can be wore for spring/fall as well. Overall, this scent is just way too familiar, and doesn't offer anything new. It's just too generic smelling. It Does seem to have great longevity though. A good general office scent, that's about it.

Good stuff. Personally, I pick up a note of mandarin which isn't listed here. The best way I can describe it is smooth with a little bit of grit to it. I have 2 bottles of this. One of them is a dumb reach for when I need something that won't last forever, the other bottle I'm keeping for years down the road in case this collects value in the next few decades. Unfortunately, the performance is weak and the longevity is extremely short (a skin scent within 2-3 hours). I would recommend the original Chrome since it has very good projection and longevity.

Very similar to Armaf Sillage, but less musky and brighter, more citrusy. Has a L'eau Par Kenzo vibe too on its citrus facet. Chrome Extreme to me is the best of the Chrome flankers followed by Chrome Pure, but this one does smell very nice and it's a solid option for the high heat. It's a more "mainstream" version of SMW/Sillage so if you like those, you'll probably like this one too. Decent longevity and performance, if you're looking for a summer scent with no sweetness and a laidback vibe, this is a nice option.

This fragrance is reminiscent of Creed;Silver Mountain Water it's not as expansive or well-made though and does miss the strong, clean muskiness of the Creed fragrance. Opening is sweet, fresh and with a metallic note. Gets more floral and green as it heats up. More of a spring/summer scent, good for both men and women of all ages. Performance is ok. Do not spray directly onto clothes as the liquid inside the bottle is blue and may cause marks/stains.

First impression is that it seems like a weaker version of Chrome with the florals and a touch of citrus. It was really interesting for a few minutes, but then it settled down to just a mid flanker. I may update this with a more thorough analysis after more usage, but I think this is a pass for anyone but Chrome collectors. Update: this is a good Chrome option for the summer. Increased my rating from "ok to "like".

I've had this for a while now and just never really used it. Today I gave it a try and found it to be a nice fragrance. The tea note is pronounced and will give the fragrance that sharp aspect to its fresh scent. I really like this, seems to have slipped under the radar. Lasts several hours on skin and more than a full work day on clothes. Reasonably priced, I think this is a safe blind buy.

It's a like for me. It smells very clean and fresh. I mostly wear it in the late spring and summer. Very citrusy and metallic. Easy to wear and unoffending. After playing around with it I would recommend spraying it on your clothes and go heavy with the sprays. Good blind buy. I wouldn't pay over $20, $25 for it. 7/10

It's been a long time since I have smelled the original CK1. But as soon as I sprayed this the rush of nostalgia hit me like a Mac truck.

This is not a re-bottle of the OG. Much more rounded citrus, not so sharp and metallic. Great choice for summer!!

Original Chrome with a dose of Silver Mountain Water.

Decent frag, not great but not awful. Definitely doesn’t improve upon the original. It’s similar to the OG but with a little more citrus in the opening and a little less of the sharp metallic feel. Little bit of a SMW vibe to it as well. The real killer with this one is just how blue the juice is. It will stain light clothes if you happen to get any of it on them which is pretty disappointing. Longevity is worse too so if you like the chrome dna just get the original. 5/10

I actually enjoy this a decent amount... For the longest time I didn’t give it a second glance, assuming it was the original Chrome just repackaged in a different bottle. A local rack store had a bottle that someone decided to turn into a tester bottle on the shelf.. So I gave it a spray on my hand / in the air. While you definitely get the OG DNA.. The opening is brighter, slightly sweeter and a touch more modern smelling. Overall, I find the 2015 special edition slightly greener and fresher... As opposed to the OG which is more metallic and fresh spicy. As it dries down, it does get much closer to the original.. But still keeps the changes mentioned above, setting it slightly a part. In a nutshell... A bit of the original Chrome, a bit of the Intense and a bit of the United flanker (tea), mixed together with the twist of the brighter/sweeter more modern opening.. You get the 2015 special edition. If you are a fan of the original I would assume you would like this. I personally, was never a huge fan of Chrome. It’s ok... But I do enjoy this. Nothing amazing... But for the right price, could be a nice freshie to add to a collection.

My girlfriend loves this stuff. It is a nice bright citrusy fragrance with that chrome metallic factor. It’s a very solid dumb reach cheapie for a hot day. I see SMW comparisons. Have both, given SMW many wearings, summer 2015 I’ve worn maybe 7 or 8 times now, while they are similar in a few ways they are also very different. I never thought of SMW when I wore this until I saw it pointed out on here. Summer 2015 is bright citrusy airy metallic, while SMW is much more thick, inky, and musky metallic. If that makes sense. They are quite different to my nose. That being said I think this is very very solid for the price (like $30-35 on discounters) lasts about as long as you’d expect. Pretty good for a couple hours then it’s a pretty tight bubble. Which is fine for this scent. If you want a bright citrusy metallic cheapie this is a no brainer. Not sure how long it will be at discounters as a “limited edition” but it seems to be dried up at most outside of PerfumeOnline. Maybe it will get restocked maybe it won’t who knows.

This smells so good. Had a patron go ape shit and said the sillage smelt incredible. Basically this is the OG chrome with Creed Silver Mountain Water / Xerjoff Mefisto mixed in. I enjoy both so this one will serve me real well. Only bad thing is the damn hectic blue juice. I wear a white shirt at work so I’ll pump it and see if it leaves any stains. Performance is great. I did initially think I was getting the OG but I’m really pleasantly surprised and personally love this scent. It’s just so pleasant and uplifting with beautiful sillage. Edit: dumbest idea making this juice so blue. Left blue spots all over my white shirt. Smells so good though so I’ll make it work.
