I don't know what the heck AllisonNW is reviewing because it certainly isn't this fragrance. Ginger lover is a very inoffensive fragrance. A great casual scent to wear at work or just lounging around. This fragrance is a lightly spicy ginger, it's more like one of those ginger candies that are balanced with sugar (several people below have mentioned this, they are spot on). The vetiver pairs really nicely with the ginger. It gives it a great backbone. Over time to my nose I get a powdery smell, or perhaps it might be better described as a clean soap smell. The vetiver is clean smelling in other words, it's not a dirty vetiver. There is citrus in this but it's really well blended together with the notes of ginger/vetiver. This fragrance doesn't project very far. I put 3 sprays around my chest. You could spray more than that to be honest. This fragrance to me will shine in spring/summer. Warmer weather is where it will do its best. It's just a very clean smelling fragrance. I wouldn't mind smelling like this coming out of a shower. Really comforting and clean smell. I specifically asked forum members for a good ginger-based fragrance and they recommended this among other fragrances. The best ginger fragrance I've ever smelled (to this day) is Cartier's Declaration Cologne (it has to be the "cologne" version, the EDT is a completely different fragrance). The juiciest lime/ginger combination ever. The problem though is that it becomes a skin scent within 15 minutes, and the scent is practically gone within an hour... oh and it's discontinued.

Wow!!! Azzaro never fails to impress me, this is a gorgeous spicy sweet ginger scent with a blast of citrusy freshness in the opening from the lime. Upon applying, I'm getting a very fresh and soapy clean vibe that seems more suited for the warmer months. The veviter here is quite muted, since I don't detect any earthiness in this at all, except for a low key soapy herbaceouness playing in the background. After the inital citrus blast settles down, you're left with a fresh, spicy and slightly sweet ginger for the remainder of the fragrance. Longevity is quite good at about 5-7 hours on my skin in my initial wearings, and I will give an update very soon as far as projection/compliments/etc when I officially wear this lovely gem out in public. Yet I already feel this is going to be a super versatile, easy to wear crowd pleaser mostly suited for daytime use either in the office or even in casual settings. Completely blind buy worthy imo and my personal favorite so far in this new sensual line with Amber Fever coming in at a close second.

Tart, spicy and Citrusy Ginger. A little Cloying but it works for the fragrance. Lasts at least 6 hours on me. I have yet to wear it and not get compliments. Note breakdown: warm spicy: Yes Is more the Zing of the Ginger than an actual spice. Layer this with Lalique's Encre Noir Al Extreme. They work very well with each other. citrus: Yes the Lime is Juicy and works well with the Ginger here. I may also be getting a bit of fresh Mango too. aromatic: Yes I think I may be getting some Tea leaves but that might just be me. woody: Only just and far into the dry down. earthy: Being that Ginger is a root and comes from the earth that would make sense. fresh: Yes. A masculine freshness especially from the Vetiver. green: Yes the Vetiver is there but like the woody notes its further along in the dry down before you get there. conifer: No... If its there, then I am nose blind to it. And I like the scent of conifer too but I don't detect it. Edit... Upon further wears I do detect the Conifer scent.

Azzaro Pour Homme Ginger Lover is a bleu but it isn't a bleu. What I mean by that is Ginger Lover is a far more mature than most bleus. Ginger is the main note dominating the bergamot. The scent fades into vetiver. I think the vetiver is largely the note that turns Ginger Lover into a more mature bleu. Well besides the flankers of Bleu de Chanel and Dior Sauvage... Azzaro Pour Homme Ginger Lover does not perform that great. It projects pretty good for about two three hours but it becomes a skin scent after that. Ginger Lover last on skin for about six hours. Azzaro Pour Homme Ginger Lover is nearly a skeleton key scent but I would not say besides clubbing. It don't project long enough to be a club scent. Sauvage and Sauvage EDP are the club bleus. Ginger Lover works better for day times than night. I feel this works great in every season. Overall Azzaro Pour Homme Ginger Lover is a love for me. 8.0 out of 10. I wish it had a little more to it.

Three notes? The opening is ginger with some lime, the vetiver I think is an earthy type and in the dry down it blends to create a spicy sweet almost tobacco vibe with the ginger and lime. This reminds me a bit of Wanted By Night, minus the full Wanted sweetness you would get from the line. I had hoped for a summer fragrance in this, but I think it suits Spring and Fall more, potentially cool Summer nights. I figure this is suitable for any age, and should be an easy reach for most occasions. Good longevity, moderate projection, and available at a fair price. Of my Azzaro collection, I pick this over any of them thus far, this one makes me feel like a winner in the blind buy roulette game, and most of us know how great that feels! Thanks

I usually don't like falling for the Fragcomm hype but this one and it's notes & comparisons had me too intrigued to pass up. Surprisingly it lived up to hype and more! Ginger Lover opens up with a warm spicy ginger and then you get some background notes of lime and a non obtrusive vetiver. It stays pretty linear throughout but that is a great thing because those 3 notes are superb together. I would wear this for medium hot summer days and Spring time but you could easily get away with in colder times of the year as well. I would say it's a combination of YSL Ultime and L'Homme. For about $30 you cannot go wrong with this as a blind buy. Overall: 8.75/10

In alternative universe there is a version of me, with the same face, same clumsy manner, same loud baritone voice, same obtuse durty sense of humour but richer, not so obnoxious when nervous, less self-jeopardising with work, women and friends. That version of me is right now is dancing Sherman Hemsley-style to Parliament, on a fat mountain of money and success instead of leaning on his kitchen counter. But both that version and I are both living and wearing Ginger Lover! I don’t think I have loved a series of flankers to an original scent (with Terre d’Hermés a very close second) more than Azzaro Pour Homme. 8.9/10 - I’m off to have a kitchen disco...

It smells good, the opening - mid - base. It is pretty linear but the vetiver kicks in a little later. it is not as strong and loud as i would like it to be, pretty soft - i am yet to wear it in the high heat, at the moment wearing it in the monsoon, high humidity. i would give ie 9/10 if it projected better. in terms of value i give it 9/10 ( because where i live we dont get it below 43USD) smell 8/10 ( a little boring) i feel it is very similar to TM Pure Havane ( which would e 9.5/10 for me ) projection 5/10 overall 7.5/10

I've had this scent for a year. I liked it, it didn't blow my mind, the ginger is very prominent. I left it alone for a good while as it did remind me too much of Azzaro Wanted (which I find very cloying no matter how little I spray). I tried it out today and I'm thinking it's the maceration that has created a more powerful longer lasting scent that gives me ginger, citrus, and vetiver with a high potency. I love it, need to wear this before the summer goes out. Get it let it macerate, your welcome.

This is pretty much the definition of “dumb reach” IMHO. Sold smell and will definitely not offend anyone; It smells of a high quality shaving cream or body wash. I think this would make the perfect gift for someone who doesn’t usually wear a lot of fragrance, of any age since it’s not “in your face” loud and doesn’t out stay it’s welcome. And to get 100ml of this for under $50 Canadian from discounters makes this the best value to dollar fragrance I’ve smelt this year. Easily.

Fizzy ginger ale and lime with a nice savory drydown. Moderate longevity and sillage, quite fresh and not too sweet. Easily the better value buy over the discontinued Ultime and NO ROSE! I'm loving these frags with only 3 or 4 notes that are executed well. Sometimes simple is best! Could also argue that this is a year-round scent, the warm ginger actually cuts through mild winter weather for the first hour or two.

I just bought this today, so I haven't given it a full proper wearing. I did a single test spray. Preliminary verdict? Fantastic! This is a warm and spicy ginger, not a bright and refreshing ginger. I'm saving this for the fall. Smells amazing, performance is great and I paid $30 bucks for it.

It’s a clean, fresh and zesty fragrance. A fizzy pop burst of citrusy ginger. Definitely a masculine fragrance which will be lovely for hot summer days by the beach or warm evenings. A nice relatively inexpensive fragrance to add to your collection. 💛

What can I say, this is probably one of the best cheapies I’ve ever purchased, it smells amazing, first time I wore it my wife asked me “what is that delicious smell” it’s now her new favorite. You won’t be sorry picking this up. Way to go Azzaro

I guess I am not a ginger lover after all, I got bored of this one after the 3rd wearing. It is not bad but if u have a nice collection it doesn’t really hold its place anywhere. 5/10

Like wearing a glass of ginger ale. A pleasing cheapie for those who like ginger. It opens with a refreshing, peppery fizziness and a hint of sweetness. The pepper and fizz fade after an hour and are not as dominant. The dry down is a bright hint of lime. A very pleasant dumb reach for spring, summer and early autumn. It's versatility also extends into it's age range but it leans more youthful. I wouldn't call it a unisex frag but both can wear it, but it does lean a little more masculine. Decent longevity and is still present on clothing the day after without that stale smell that some frags can suffer from. Might be discontinued (though I can still find some of the other Homme flankers) as it's sold out at all my discounters and the Azzaro site in my region gives a page 404 when searching for it. I chose like, but if I had to choose between like and love, its closer to love. That may sound contradictory, but when I think of fragrances I love, there's something distinguishable, emotion-inducing. This is so simple, so nicely balanced, so smooth, my only issue is performance on my skin. But its winter now, and I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue in warmer weather. Is it the most amazing fragrance I've ever come across? No. Is it a top notch cheapie that I'm glad I own? Absolutely!! This stuff is sneakily good. I can see it pulling lots of compliments. I love complex fragrances with a lot of depth but this is just, so solid. It doesn't need to be complex and it isn't trying to be. Also, because its so simple, its great to experiment with layering. If you have no fragrances with ginger, and you like ginger in general, I would definitely check this one out. 8.5/10 for me, without hesitation.

Notice this fragrance isn’t called “For Ginger Lovers”. See, I thought that’s what it meant. But, you know, just like you might refer to yourself as “My Wife’s Lover” without actually being your wife.... man, this the worst intro to a review I have ever written. If you are thinking this fragrance would NOT feature a realistic, zesty ginger note, you’d be right. But you wouldn’t think that from the name, would you? Well, what we have here is a pleasant, warm weather, sweet scent with a candied ginger opening followed by a common, fresh woody drydown. Pretty simple. Does it smell nice? Yes. Does it live up to its name? No. If you’re a true ginger lover, you’d be better off dating a redhead.

While I do like ginger, I have to admit that I don't love ginger, so I was a bit apprehensive at first, but this one is working quite well for me. Ginger is definitely there, and it is the dominant note, but it is happy to share the stage with the lime and vetiver. This makes GL a much more interesting scent to my nose. I get moderate protection and longevity on my skin. While this is marketed to men, I find this to be a very unisex fragrance that leans a bit feminine. It is a very inoffensive and safe scent that can be worn pretty much anywhere. If you like ginger, you should try this one.

This stuff is great from all the flankers also the price tag is amazing and for about $25-$30 you can find this fragrance. The smell to me goes towards both the DNA of D&G the one EDT/EDP and YSL Ultime. This one however is missing Amber, basil, and tobacco notes that D&G The One has and no florals aspect from YSL Ultime. Either way, all 3 great fragrances, however, budget-wise this one is more bang for your buck and this stuff truly lasts a quite a few hours I get a max 5-8 hours on clothes.

I smelled the opening and it smelled familiar. It was something I smelled quite recently. Then it hit me. The opening is very similar to Valentino Uomo Born in Roma, which also has a strong ginger note. It's not as sweet as Born in Roma but it has very obvious similarities.

The opening is fantastic. The dry-down, much less so. The opening is delicious (like some ginger ale drink) and lasts about 30min to 1 hour (max). I'm happy I bought Ginger Lover but probably won't be buying a second bottle.

Starts off nicely with lime and spicy ginger. 30 minutes later you are left with just woody vetiver, spicy ginger, and a very faint hint of citric sweetness. It's not terrible, but it's quite boring to me. I don't understand why this was hyped so much. It does last quite a while. It's probably best for fall. This is an ever so slightly fresher take on YSL L'homme Ultime without the rose. If you don't like rose or it is an offputting note to you, try Ginger Lover. This is very similar in the opening and even more so in the drydown. Plus, this is cheaper and not discontinued so give it a shot!

This smells like chemical warfare. I’m honestly surprised it didn’t burn a hole straight through my wrist. I love ginger but it’s everything else in this that is just not right. It smells like an obnoxiously overconfident man who possesses zero traits to justify his self-assurance.

Opens with a fizzy bright candy like ginger-lime which quickly calms to promote the ginger. It quickly dries down and lime and vetiver (?) becomes noticeable. I am honestly not sure what good vetiver smells like (I only have Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver as referrence) but the dry down is not very appealing to me. Perhaps it is the trailing lime which lends to an unpleasant aroma that reminds me of feminine hygiene products. That said, it's not a disgusting smell...just not a pleasant one for me. It's somewhat of a soapy smell hiding in the background. I would not consider this fragrance 'masculine'. It's unisex, almost leaning feminine. Nothing horrid, just not what I was expecting. I don't suggest this as a blind buy, even though it is fairly inexpensive.

Gonna pile onto the praise this is getting. I really enjoy the effervescent ginger opening and am finding that as it mellows down after a couple of hours it dries down to a suede-like accord that pairs with the light vetiver quite nicely into a soft, warm-weather friendly drydown. Overall performance is pretty middle-of-the-road for me, but what is quite impressive on my skin is that opening. It actually sticks around over 2 hours, which not many do - at least on me. The discounters are selling this at a bargain for a good, solid warm-weather scent. And admittedly I have a soft spot for Azzaro thanks to my enduring love for PH - and the bottle style is also growing on me rapidly as I assemble the Azzaro rainbow.

1st impressions; Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice scent, however I'm quite surprised at how, to my nose at least the ginger is so tame or restrained. It's not a sharp, tangy or spicy ginger - which I had been hoping for- but a sweeter and smoother ginger. I actually pick up a slight vibe of the Amber Fever flanker (this is surprisingly amber-like), this could be a day time version of that one, as such I think the name Ginger Amber would've been more apt! I'll give it some more time but so far I think it's good, just not sure if it's for me. PS: I hope these three or four note shenanigans will soon be over and brands revert back to publishing the more extensive note-listings.

It's exactly what it says it is: ginger, lime, and vetiver. The combination is very pleasant -- not too sweet, fresh, and handsome. Performance is mediocre on me. My wife couldn't smell it on me from one foot away approximately an hour after a moderate application of several sprays. However, it's worth a buy if you only wear fragrance for yourself or don't need it to project for more than a little while.

I also see certain similarity with YSL Ultime, but it changes in the drydown and the resemblance happens to be with Mancera -Lemon Line. I get the same citrus "dustiness". In summary: Generic, shower gel vibe, pleasant but not bottle worthy. There are way better mass appealing fragances and I would choose YSL Ultime before this one.

Smells really nice, on my skin its lasted an hour and then went to a soft skin scent which I had trouble smelling. Certainly not the performance some of the well known reviews state so they must have some special skin or its just a matter of getting what you pay for. The end.

If anyone knows where to get this in Europe please (pretty please!) let me know! A store here in France usually has exclusivity on Azzaro limited editions (that's where I bought the fantastic Amber Fever in 2018) but they haven't even heard of this or Wild Mint!?

I like the ginger. Pronounced. Fresh and pleasant. I do appreciate the drydown more. I wish I had the fragrance vocabulary but I don't since I'm no expert. Just like things that smell good. Wish it projected more and for longer

It does smell like ultime YSL , below average projection in my skin unless I spray my clothes .. is good none the less , i can combine YSL and this and is more intense .
