Azzaro Pour Homme Summer Edition 2013

Just wow. Found in a local flea market and tried without expectation but i was thrilled and bought immediately! I love Azzaro PH original and totally understand when people say it smells a bit dated or old-manish. Well apparently Azzaro already had a solution for this with this flanker which i had no idea it existed. The backbone of the original is still there but very bright and fresh with a cool mandarine smell. Very, very good indeed. Buy it when you find it!

Great stuff, just like Azzaro Pour Homme, but a bit fresher. Not a lot fresher, just a tid bit, enough for me to able to wear the OG Azzaro during the hot summer days. It's a bit redundant to Azzaro PH, and that's probably why it was a limited edition that will not come back. Had luck to find a new 2012 bottle for a good price - this has been macerating 13 years before I started ruining it with fresh oxygen. Cheers!

One of the best "summer" fragrances ever. Totally agree with 1welshdevil,the opening notes are amazing.The dry down is soft,clean & fresh.Everything you would want from a summery fragrance. Sillage is good but nothing exciting. Longevity,as are all Azzaro fragrances,is very impressive without being too overpowering.

I seriously love this, the sun is out, and this fragrance bursts with a citrus opening, lemons and mandarin. The dry down is really lovely, light and soapy. I prefer this to the original.

As the original marketing materials mentioned: "For the summer of 2013, the original fragrance is enriched with..." the vote-able scent notes listed above on this page. The scent itself still contains the usual stew of Azzaro-style spicy aromatic fougère notes below the newcomers... they just aren't listed. This 2013 summer flanker really is just a slight variation on the pillar fragrance and certainly not some sort of summer freshie despite the charming breezy artwork on the bottle. If you know Azzaro pour Homme you will have a pretty good idea what to expect here. The short-lived opening leans a bit more citrus-colonia / less zippy-barbershop and the drydown is moderately smoother, creamier, and less spicy; beyond that it has much of the same core character as the original. Projection and sillage are more discreet than the powerhouse original. Personally I find the original 1978 fragrance wonderful to sniff in passing but too potent to actually wear. Summer Edition 2013 solves that problem for me: it retains much of the original vibe but with the sharp edges smoothed over, making it just mellow enough to be wearable without being too-far removed like the L'Eau flanker is. My favorite of the "still mostly smells like the original" ApH flankers I've tried.

Well, it is very similar to the original one, maybe a bit weaker and lighter. It opens with a blast of citrus and minty, which last few minutes, then it turns close to the original. Though, I can smell the additional notes added to this flanker. It is fine for working and leisure time, day is better, and spring-summer is the right time for wearing it. I happen to like it

Starts very freshly, but in minutes turns into a light, powdery version of the original. The cumin is very noticeable in the drydown. Good, but less a summer fragrance than L ́eau.

How this can be summer fragrance.....oh very poor staying power...not even 30 minutes. Strange from Azzaro.....oldy type and can't detect citrus!!!

Lovely bottle. The reviews so far seem rather mixed :/ ...I'll give it a mix in the lab, I think... ... ... ... Okay, I mixed it. It's okay. Nothing special. Based on the reviews, I swapped out cumin with coriander. I would say it reminds me of the illustration on the bottle: a nice, easy day at the coast. There's a fresh, happy green hint to it which nicely covers and encapsulates the rest of the fragrance. The wormwood at the base blends well providing a subtle depth, concordant with the gentle coastal day theme. I like it. As I mixed this sample myself, I'm at liberty to increase the longevity somewhat, in deference to the reviews. I think it's one of those fragrances which grows on you the more you wear it. Overall: surprisingly pleasant. Definitely one for the summer!

You should really try this in your lifetime.I agree with the pictures tuscany has given about Cyprus seafront and the Med sea.I'd like to add that it has an air of a bourgoise life with it which makes you love the tennis game even more.However the perfume is also rich from the uniqueness point of view.Strange but real is that you never get bored with its aroma.The best summer perfume you can get with such a price!!!

I proudly own this bottle. Opening is aromatic, harsh, and cumin heavy. This fragrance defines masculinity in the drydown. The artemisia blends with the cumin and there is a relaxing herbal summer vibe. For some reason this fragrance helps me think clearheaded and gives me a nice misogynistic vibe. Next time I meet Jeremy Fragrance, I'll let him smell and ask him to say POWER and STRENGTH while smelling this.

Mmm- this zesty Summer frag is refreshing. Its dry, tangy-woodsy reminds me of an older vetiver-heavy frag from the 70's. It actually reminds me of the smell of an Origin's shaving product for men called 'Save the Males.' It's new to me so I'm still learning about it, but it does capture that golden woodsy time of before summer sunset. Love the bottle. I would recommend this frag!

Lovely, unique bottle and box that promises the world. Pleasant enough, but not really my thing and I'm not entirely sure that longevity is any better than mediocre. I will give this a few more chances, but at the moment, sad to say, a disappointment for me.
