Forever Wanted Absolu

Notes Top: incense Mid: whiskey Bottom: vanilla Bought this in store at Dillards, it wasn’t listed on their website but is now. The employee sprayed it on a tester strip first and then on my hand. I bought it immediately. This is hands down my favorite Azzaro. Before it was Forever Wanted Elixir. I personally do not enjoy either TMW Parfum or TMW Intense as I believe they are generic, weak, and not worth the price, however, I know I’m in the minority so take my opinion with a grain of salt. This is a slightly boozy, slightly smokey, chocolatey amber vanilla, which has been seen before however this is probably the best designer iteration of this DNA in my opinion. I would recommend this for F/W evenings and maybe rainy spring nights. I’ll go through each of the notes. The incense is listed in the top however it is not overwhelming and rather very muted. Just enough for you to know it’s there and to lend to the dark seductiveness that is this fragrance. I would've been fine with a stronger incense but alas it’s a designer so they must make it as mass appealing as possible. Next is the whiskey. This is what gives this warmth and body. To my nose it comes off ambery with some oak wood if you really search for it. I can’t help but get some chocolate from this as well although I don’t know if it’s the whiskey or the vanilla in the base interacting with the rest of the notes. Only slightly boozy which I would chalk up again to Azzaro playing it safe. Next is the vanilla which to me smells like vanilla bean ice cream and is very sweet and fits perfectly with the rest of the notes. It’s the base note but it peeks out the edges so well I can smell where the vanilla begins and where it melds into the rest of the notes. This is better than anything in this DNA ballpark. It’s better than Jazz Club and By The Fireplace, matter of fact I’m replacing By The Fireplace in my collection with this. This is everything the Stronger With You line (another line I don’t enjoy and am in the minority) wishes it was (although I do have my eyes on Stronger With You Powerfully since I love cherry). I’ve seen this compared to something in the Givenchy Gentleman line, however that line is single-handedly the most confusing fragrance line to me and I can never accurately recall which ones which. I need more time to fully test longevity and projection but as someone who works in a hospital and goes nose blind to most things rather quickly, I can smell how this scent envelops me and catch whiffs of it easily. I would say arms length projection but strong inside that range. I would assume longevity to be at least 6-8 hours like FWE. This is a Parfum concentration just like FWE. Based on scent alone I’m giving this a 9/10. This scent is almost paradoxical. It’s mature but not elderly. It takes it self seriously in a relaxed way. It’s put together but not stuffy. This is a confident jolly man who’s not afraid to laugh at himself and when he speaks, people listen. If you’re a young 25 yr old who wants to be perceived more mature for your age, this is what you wear. If you’re an older gentleman who wants to be perceived warmly and approachable, this is what you wear. This is very masculine but I wouldn’t be opposed to a women wearing this. If any confident ladies want to wear this, you will turn heads and break necks! Unfortunately I can’t give it a 10 as I believe it needs more depth to push it to perfection. If this had more booze or incense I can see my score increasing. Or even some new notes such as spices, vetiver, or patchouli. I’ll experiment layering this with Ambroxan and ISO Super E to achieve perfection. I 100% recommend getting your nose on this if you enjoy any of the previously mentioned designers. It may be redundant if you own those already, but it may replace them just as well.

So where to begin well 1st for the price point it is a little high $155.00 for a 3.4oz (100ml). 2nd anybody could rock this young or old. 3rd this does not smell mature to me like a glass of whiskey and smoky incense like, you're a sitting in a room of adults, smoking, cigars and drinking whiskey it smells playful to me. 4th for a Parfum you can expect this to sit close to the skin and your going to have to put your nose right to your skin to smell it unless it is a breezy day. 5th picked my bottle up at Sephora at Kohls in the USA 🇺🇸. 6th as far as performance goes it is ok nothing fantastic projection could be better but what do you want for a Parfum. 1. Price 3/5 wait til it hits discounters not worth $155.00 6.If you need this in your collection of Azzaros go for it but if you got the patience wait till it hits discounters not worth the hype.

I have acquired the Elixir, Intense, and now Absolu. Upon initial application, a potent aroma emerges. A damp mineral stone cave scent unfolds, creating a calming ambiance. This is subsequently accompanied by a subtle whiskey note. I find myself wishing the initial fragrance lingered for a longer duration. As the scent evolves, refined incense and sweet vanilla notes become apparent, exhibiting an almost creamy quality. A pleasant woody element provides cohesion to the various components. Throughout each stage, until the final dry down, one note remains prominent. As someone who appreciates amber in perfumery, I am pleased with the quintessential designer amber in this fragrance, which performs its function admirably. This flanker is my preferred choice within The Wanted lineup. 9/10, I am extremely fond of this.

Best Azzaro yet, without a doubt. Don’t judge it by the first 5 minutes, the opening is okay, but it doesn’t tell the full story. Once it settles, the whiskey, incense, woods, vanilla, and rich amber notes come together beautifully and create a deep, smooth scent. The vanilla does remind me a bit of Le Male Elixir, which explains the comparisons but this still feels unique with a lot of layers and character. The whiskey fades after the first hour as incense, vanilla, and amber take over. It’s not inspired by anything on the market, this feels truly unique and niche worthy. Performance is excellent: around 2–3 hours of strong projection with great sillage and 12+ hours of longevity on my skin. Azzaro cooked with this one, easily my favorite from the line!! I highly recommend it🔥🔥

Starting off, this is a completely different fragrance from any other wanted frag, it does however have resembling characteristics to le male elixir in the sense that it has a smoky sweet vanilla, that however is where the similarities end. This leans towards a more mature rendition of a sweet-smoky vanillic slightly boozy fragrance. Smelling it on skin i get plenty of whiskey that is mellowed out by the other notes, mainly the amber, vanilla and incense, i must say overall i adore this fragrance, i can see why some might not love it but i certainly do, i will gladly admit azzaro has made me a sucker for their fragrances. Overall scores scent: 10/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Projection: 7/10

Was just able to sample this definitely a worthy addition to the Wanted Line and definitely fits the Cozy, Mysterious "Night Out" vibes especially on Cold Winter Nights. The opening hits you with a strong hit of Boozy Whiskey but after the first 10 minutes or so it really smooths out and settles into a smooth Vanilla, Smoky, Ambery scent it's almost as if you dropped a scoop of Vanilla Bean Ice-cream into a glass of Whiskey as weird as that sounds, it smells quite good. While the Vanilla provides some sweetness this is definitely the most 'mature' grown man smelling in the line because of the Incense, Whiskey, and deep Woods.

Got this today, and it smells like POWER. Probably the most masculine vanilla you can get for this money. It's non-typical booziness from whiskey, "thick", almost animalic-like vanilla and incense makes this scent unlike any other one. It's much more interesting than the heavy leather of the original Forever Wanted, and makes a very good date night scent. It might be my favorite Azzaro so far, and I've tried them all. A gem, and can be bought for cheap on discounters. 9.5/10

Tried this today at Sephora. At first it’s insanely earthy. Like smelled like fresh soil, but then it starts to morph in the air and then it became familiar to me. It’s like a way more mature version of JPG Elixir. Once my brain made that connection I started to like it a lot more. This is nothing like the rest of the line at all and I’m good with that. Update: Macys sold it to me yesterday. I’m really happy with it. Wearing it today and the opening really grows on you.

My nose must be different to a lot of people as I LOVE the opening. Smoky and incense, really attention grabbing and addictive. The whisky joins in after about 10 minutes, and it gives a good hour or two of all three notes blending and swishing around. Imagine being sat by a cracking fire, with an incense stick burning, whilst swilling a whisky in a glass - that's what you get. Good sillage, and the longevity is above average too. All in all, a really good release.

To me it’s a wearable version of Kilian Angels share which I had a debut batch of. This is a 9.8/10. This nearly brought a tear to my eye when I tried it in Macys. Super realistic oak wood note to the point I changed my signature scent to this after having the same signature scent since 2014! Damn this might be the best designer fragrance ever! This is way better than Dior Sauvage.

I just picked this fragrance up today. As someone who absolutely loves what azzaro has been doing with their fragrances, this is another win. To me, this somehow smells like if you were in a dimly lit, warm, cozy tea house; with a fire in the hearth and all the windows open to a cool fall night. I think this took FWE’s spot as my top Azzaro fragrance.

Very niche for a designer. Opens super dark and smoky slightly harsh with bitter wood and incense but the dry down is amazing the vanilla and whiskey come out a little and mingle with the smoke and it just smells very masculine and smooth. Think if sauvage elixir had a cousin with le male elixir and you’d get something like this

Sophisticated and alluring, mysterious and seductive. This is not your ginger bomb bubblegum. This is if boss bottled Absolu and le male elixir made a sweet love child. Not for the faint of heart or nose. As a middle aged male this is by far the best winter scent Azzaro has ever produced 9/10. Unbelievably good!

8.5/10 Great fragrance! one of the best from the line, I will totally recommend for people that are looking on a more mature yet sweet and appealing scent. After 5 mins it resembled JPG Elixir but this was fleeting. Dries down to a beautiful vanilla, whiskey and woods. The projection is very nice even after 3 sprays off my skin. I went for drinks and a meal at a restaurant and our party and server asked what I was wearing. This is a very nice fragrance.

The most bewitching fragrance amongst masculine frags I own. I'm a woman (strait), but I wear it myself (ok, ok, at home only..so far..at least). IMHO, this fragrance could be called unisex. It's so comforting, sexy and it improves my mood significantly.

I am constantly upset with designer releases, and refuse to buy them, but this one is well composed. The opening is not great, though. Very aromatic, mid to drydown. The fem-boys won't like this one as much as the other overly sweet versions

Very nice matured fragrance. I get the comparison to Jpg elixir and Rabanne xs night but those hints are very subtle. This takes away the very sweet nature of these 2 and they made this fragrance much more wearable.

Wow this would probably end up being my fav from line putting forever wanted in no 2, as both tmw parfum and intense are trash, this seems a 10/10🥰, forever wanted is also lovely

The smoke here makes the scent feel more niche, beautiful one, well done also reminds me of new releases from JM Amber Labdanum.

I’ve just discovered if you layer FWA with FWE it has a vegetable soup / Italian wedding soup note. My nose might be broken.

The elixir was ehh to me. I love this one! The dry down is really addictive.

This scent is so fukin strong,

Scent: 8/10 In the opening, it starts off strong with the whisky and incense. As it drys down, the vanilla comes in more while the whisky and incense back off. The woody and amber notes envelop it in the background but I primarily get the vanilla in the dry down with the whisky in the backseat. Super masculine scent. Think leather jacket night out kind of occasion. IMO, this was a pretty daring take by azzaro as it strays away from the their typical scent profiles. I'd agree that it's niche-leaning. Definitely try it first as it's not blind buy safe. Performance: 7/10 Longevity is pretty decent, I get a solid 7-8 hours of total longevity. The projection is moderate for about 2.5 hours. I was expecting a bit more since azzaros other stuff usually lasted longer on my skin. But for the occasions this would be used in, I don't think this is a big problem. Versatility: 6.5/10 Because this is a richer fragrance, it's more suited for cold weather and nighttime wear. It would be best used in the winter and/or fall. Specifically, I think this makes a great date night or special occasion scent. It's a scent that makes you feel like "the man" without getting into the oudy territory. Presentation: 8.5/10 I personally like nice bottles and this is probably my favorite one in the azzaro lineup. I think the gold plating transitioning to the amber glass gradient looks fire. My only gripe is the cap is plastic and feels really cheap. Can't knock it too much; at least it doesn't look cheap lol. But it's funny since these dupe companies go crazy with metal and magnetic caps, I wish designers would put some more budget into that too. Overall: 7.5/10 Solid release. I have to admit it took a little time for it to grow on me since that opening is a bit harsh with the strong whisky incense combo. But as it drys down, it's very addictive to smell as the vanilla comes in. If you like stuff like boss bottled absolu, this would be up your alley.

This is the least "most wanted" flanker of all of them, and the memo was probably "Babycat for dudes". And it's surprisingly good as a standalone thing, but I don't know if it will be very appreciated by the Sephora crowd. And the reason is the opening. As you spray it, for a few seconds it's a weird (but not bad) nondescript gray/cold scent, and then a thin but strong lavender layer attacks you as the vanilla starts coming through, and that's the point where most people will think it's like Le Male Elixir and move on. It's nothing like it, as it transforms to a woody boozy deep vanilla scent with a big dose of westernised incense notes. The Babycat vibes are definitely there (past the short opening), only the suede leather is replaced by a whiskey barrel. It's not particularly sweet, neither too oriental, and the boozy notes do not smell like "drunk dude", everything blends nicely to create a very warm seductive scent, but it is noticeably more mature than the average Wanted flanker. Projects strongly for 2 hours, lasts 8 more on skin, it's going to be enjoyable almost exclusively on late fall and winter nights. Quite cloying if oversprayed, as the vanilla is darker and warmer. Much much better than Forever Wanted Elixir, but for now the decant will sit in the box for 6 months.

seeing the coloring of the juice thru the transparency in the bottle gives observing booze breathing in a snifter..warm & rich accompanied by that whiskey opening - long inhale followed by slow exhale..its bold, direct while simultaneously providing a element of nostalgia..if i were blindfolded, with the current level of creativity utilized in scent production this could be a new aromatic venture from Jack Daniel's ( judged by 1st whiff ). But of course Fragrantica reviews will have you challenging your own evaluations beyond the scope of mere subjectivity..nevertheless, i maintain my initial accessment of this being an upgrade on past releases of the Wanted line but lacking innovation to supersede predecessors of this particular dna. The fuckability factor is present though..these overtly alcoholic fragrances exert the forces of gravity on panties.

I've had this for a little over a week now and have just been waiting for it to be added to the website in order to review. I was able to try out and also purchase this at my local Dillards last week before it made it to their site. I've been looking for a more grown-up whiskey-forward scent ever since I fell in love with A&F Fierce Reserve. This does what fits that description very well. The smoky incense starts off the show, and underneath you can still catch the very beginning of the whiskey note. Into the dry down, the vanilla and amberwoods replaces the smoke to go along with the whiskey note. It ends up with an incredibly smooth finish which lasts all day on my skin, and well over a day on clothing. I'm very satisfied with this purchase!

The opening immediately brings Le Male Elixir to mind, but only for a brief moment. Within seconds, it takes a turn in its own direction. After that first spray, it evolves into a rich blend of smoky depth and boozy sweetness that feels warm, smooth, and addictive. Honestly, this comes across like a Le Male flanker we never actually got. It is familiar in spirit, yet completely its own creation. While The Most Wanted Parfum remains my favorite from Azzaro, this one easily earns a place in my top three.

I'm a woman in her late 30s. Love it! Sprayed on paper. It's beautiful! I personally love vanilla, and whiskey notes on men and here they are done right. Masculine, classy, warm, respect, gentle, yet assertive. He's mature in mind, with good manners and a comforting strength in his ways. Not very formal, nor casual. Perfect for cold weather, better at nighttime. I can't stop sniffing 🥰🥃🎩 9.5/10

For a designer I don't feel this scent is very linear and I quite enjoy the dry down. I do enjoy woods and incense but they come in a little to synthetic and not very appealing in the beginning for me, but again I still see it as a worthwhile wear since the vanilla and whisky create a nice sweet masculine dry down.

Smells like the weaker, more hideous brother of Le Male Elixir (which I love). It smells nice, but Le Male Elixir is much better, plus better value for money. The powdery scent from ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE is dominant, which is why I think a lot of women would like to wear this as well.

I can't believe people used to crap all over this fragrance. While it's a bit strong for a sensitive nose like mine, it is still a gorgeous scent. Very masculine, great for a date night or black tie event. One of the few fragrances that gets the blend of booze and incense right.

I see the comparison with le male elixir but it's really minimal only in the opening. This might be the most different azzaro for now, it's really masculine and the incense is the protagonist here.

I think this would smell rich, intimate, and slightly seductive. Perfect for evenings, cooler weather, or moments when you want to leave a lasting impression.

Starts off very woody incense type smell but drys down to this whiskey very vanilla scent that is very nice. This last pretty long and will project well

Not a huge fan of the opening or early mid on this, but as it dries down it smells like a Baskin Robbins in the best way possible

Not sure why this was barely released in Mexico like last week but I'd been looking forward to trying this since it was announced as it sounded like something that'd be just up my alley: vanilla, whiskey, woods and incense. Finally found a tester at Ulta and I was tremendously disappointed. The opening is indeed off putting, not because it smells bad per se, rather because it seems like the ingredients were dosed incorrectly, making the notes clash with one another instead of harmonizing. The incense sticks out like a sore thumb over the woody vanilla, and for some reason this smells very prominently like lavender, something my sister also confirmed. Unfortunately there's also no whiskey smell to this, which is probably what disappointed me the most about this fragrance as I love boozy stuff. I haven't tried that fragrance in a while but this vanilla-lavender combo was reminding me of JPG's Le Male Le Parfum, although seeing the fragrances this gets compared to I don't doubt it'll be similar to Le Male Elixir, this is indeed very JPG-like. Overall I also found this very sweet but to be fair I think I've become less tolerant of sweet fragrances since my taste started leaning more towards oriental and oud-forward profiles, I'm sure I'd have been all over this if I was barely starting out my deep dive into perfumery. For better or for worse this is also very strong. Two sprays on the back of my hand were enough for strong and constant projection with a relatively dense sillage, even after several hand washes. It's been well over 12 hours, maybe around 15 hours, since I sprayed this on and I can still smell it very distinctly on my hand. On the bright side I didn't find this too synthetic considering how strong it is, and more importantly this doesn't use Amber Xtreme so it gets extra points from me because of that.

I’m not a huge fan of this, but I’m glad that I don’t hate this flanker as much as literally every single Azzaro I’ve ever smelled. This opens up mostly with whiskey lactone, which has a slight celery nuance to it that was more pronounced in this fragrance than in the lactone itself. It kind of seemed like they added some spices or aromatic oils to this, but I can’t be too sure. It starts to get a little boring as it dries down and the dry woody-ambers become more prominent. The oak makes it a little more interesting but still isn’t enough to keep you on your toes. Like all Azzaros, this is a bit boring, but it definitely has more personality than the others. Performs well too.

La salida es rara, no le sentis nada claro, luego a los 5 minutos se siente un incienso de vainilla extremadamente realista, me hace acordar a cuando mi novia prende un incienso en casa para tapar el olor a mierda de mi gato. Luego de 30-40 minutos empieza a salir un olor no tan inciensado y es la mezcla exacta entre el jpg le male elixir y el khamrah Dukhan, es un perfume que tira a lo oriental y al mismo tiene ese dulce avainillado, por eso es como si fuera una mezcla de esos dos que nombre arriba, y al mismo tiene algo medio picoso que le da el incienso que lo hace similar al Dukhan.

I’m changing my review because when I made the previous review I hadn’t smelled it on skin. Now that I have I’m saying that it’s just okay. I’m not saying that it’s basic I’m just saying that it’s not my cup of tea. I don’t like the earthy opening and I don’t like the dry down either. The incense is also in my opinion of putting. 6.425/10
