Forest Noir

Test sprayed this on myself, and now, I can't keep my nose off my arm! The bottle is an excellent representation of how it smells: deep green, multi-faceted, feminine, and rich. There's a sweetness from the fruit notes, and the orange leaf gives it a bright green earthiness. The opening notes are backed by a beautiful mix of hyacinth, Turkish rose, and night-blooming jasmine. Base notes of moss and patchouli work SO well here, continuing the theme of a night time trek in an enchanted forest. Vanilla adds a bit of coziness in the dry down. This fragrance is just soooooo good! Living in such a hot place, I'm not often drawn to wintry woodsy fragrances. However, Forest Noir knocks the concept out of the park!

Don't let the word Forest in the title throw you off. This is not a piney tree like scent. However it is so lovely! It is a cold, fresh smelling fragrence. It smells elegant and will really shine in early spring, but I think it will be fantastic in the hot summer too. It's not overly sweet I think the dew drop note and pear note are beautiful. This is not a heavy perfume. I think it's perfect for any environment. I blind bought this and I'm so glad I did!

This is more emerald city than forest noir. Nothing noir about it. Fresh bright green with fruity top notes. It's nice but I'm not madly in love. Longevity is very poor. I think this can be worn in any season, day time throughout the year and maybe a summer evening. Not deep, dark or powerful enough for a winter's night. A safe blind buy, it's in no way offensive but it's not something I will ever repurchase as it's a bit generic. Cool Bottle.

This fragrance is so unique. It's bright, sweet and green with a slight hint of vanilla. It's not dark. Very good unisex scent. The bottle is beautifully designed. An excellent addition to my collection.

Smells like a date night on a rainy day! Doesn’t last as long as I would like though.

I think out of all the many fragrances I own, I have never known a fragrance to be so obviously designed to represent the bottle it is housed in; not even Lalique! I'm not entirely sure the concept gels well with my ideas of the olfactory art, but I do admire the bottle greatly and the fragrance, though contrived to fit its physcial ideal, is gorgeous! Being a blind buy, I probably do not have the right to make this distinction; but I will say, it WORKS! I am a sucker for forest fragrances AND for Emeralds, this bottle oozes both in its decedance. The opening is vastly different than the dry down. It is almost as if they are two entirely different fragrances. The same duplicity applies to how different it smells on clothing compared to on the skin. The dry down was exactly what I was craving, I have been looking for something like Royal Apothic's Muguet Woods and although there isn't too much of a comparison with the opening, at all! The dry down is green and mossy. The problem is, the dry down is so close to the skin, it doesn't project even far enough for me to smell it on my own wrists and it is rather short lived. And respraying is problematic; you are basically applying a different fragrance that takes a couple of hours to become what you are seeking out. In spite of all of these little idiosyncracies, I won't call them faults, it is a gorgeous little gem of a fragrance. The bottle is utterly divine! I am looking forward to comparing it with Aura by Theirry Mugler, another unexpected Emeraldesque wonder. If you can find it, try it. It's an adventure of a blind buy! Unexpected and original. And given that Badgley Mischka fashion designs generally follow the same, albeit glamorous, line of progression; Forest Noir is a revelation. Dark Green and multifacited, just like the name and bottle, not so subtly, suggest.

smells like the color of the bottle! nothing noir about this imo. it's like walking into a lush, wet, jurassic forest; the oversized leaves dripping dew on the ancient ground as you stroll through, marveling at the trees taller than you can even see. I can't really pick out any individual notes until the dry down, where the vanilla is there but very, very soft. for a designer frag, it's very...conceptual; to this is the kind of abstract offering you could expect from an indie house. lasts a decent while on clothes, and I never feel the need to reapply, which is good. I have to be in a REALLY specific mood to wear this (which isn't often) but I'm compelled to keep this in my collection nonetheless. it's becoming pretty hard to find these days, so it's worth grabbing if stumbled upon.

I just received this day ..to confess blindly bought it for the green bottle at just 20$ for 100ml...I thought it would be a good piney scent for winter based on name alone .. HOWEVER ..I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS!!! this is so unique...I get a sparkling black pepper patchouli scent if that makes sense...it is perfect in this weather ..don't believe the smell like section because it resembles none of those in the least!!! This is very night time sexy and most successful blind buy thus far...I will definitely be finishing this bottle and repurchasing...a new winter fav;!!

This is an earthy green vanilla. The floral is there as well. Overall the bottle is the most impressive part! Scent is a 7/10. Good longevity. Very much a fall scent. Very grown up. Not youthful at all.

This smells so much like Fendi Furiosa, I can't figure out how or why! Both have cool bottles and a scent to match for elegant witchy types.

I bought this for ridiculously cheap on ShopLC ($35 a bottle) and could not resist. I think the fragrance is too much of a literal woody/mossy forest for me to wear, but the bottle is gorgeous. I'm keeping it for display :)

Am sooooo glad I waited until the decants of this came out. And it looks like a lot of people did, because it wasn't reviewed here by people other than staff writers until fairly recently. Insufficiently noir. And absolutely not a forest of pine trees, or redwoods, or any forest you'd think of normally. It's balmy if anything, Summery, tropical. A small clump of trees on an island near the equator. A bunch of rich women in bikinis and filmy cover-ups, at a tropical resort or advertising a cruise no later than 3pm on a sweltering afternoon. Admittedly I fell in love with the bottle and the name, and it was brought out in fall yet, as I recall, so I glossed over the words. As I recall, the official description from the maker emphasized woody elements, which I certainly don't find abundant. The night blooming jasmine is drenching and it's way too heavy on the dewdrop, whatever chemical makes that, and not enough patchouli or vanilla. Don't depend upon the latter two to bring in the noir; they're sitting embarrassed over in the background, wondering why they're listed as being at a party they didn't attend. It isn't horrible if you're looking for tropical, but it should not be called Forest Noir. It throbbed on my skin for a good 4 hours before it finally gave up and faded away.

i just got this the other day & my goodness what a total surprise this was - i was expecting something super green, super earthy & woody in a masculine way lol................but what i got was a beautiful ethereal emerald green forest scent :) on me its a floral sweet green woodland forest scent - very feminine & soft..........i find it unique & earthy in a magical fairy kind of way :) i feel like a woodland nymph dancing thru the enchanted forest on a dark misty night :) the citrus is really light.........and the jasmine & hyacinth is blended really pretty in this scent & the dewy moss is oh so light............i would definitely give this scent a try - i was quite surprised lol and the bottle is very pretty too & its the perfect green :) and im surprised no one reviewed this yet lol.........i couldnt wait to check it out..........:)

There is definitely a lot of pear and mandarin. It's pretty fruity and sweet. And it has a distinct autumnal aroma. The container is stunning, as is the liquid. It's an easy blind buy and makes a pretty great present, but make sure the receipt is there! sweet and a fruity smell. It has a cool, refreshing scent. It smells lovely and will shine brightly in early spring, but I believe it will also be excellent during a hot summer!

It smells great and all but does not last whatsoever. It’s a truly beautiful scent, if only it would last. Today is my second day wearing it and I’m not impressed. If you like light or barely there scents then this is for you. As a lover of powerhouse/strong fragrances I was very sad with this one. I believe the purple one is much stronger and all in all a great fragrance. Sillage: 1/10 Performance: 3/10 Longevity: 2/10

Something so dark and mysterious about this scent. I love her in spring, April showers brings May flowers, doesn’t stand up to a cold day in my opinion. But from February to May this is a go to

I want to sniff this so much! Getting the one in the purple bottle next week. I swapped for it. I'm excited about that one too. And the bottles are ridiculously gorgeous.
