Dahaab Saafi

Dahaab Saafi is part of the trilogy of perfumes that Afnan created with the brand Bait Al Bakhoor. I recently added it to my collection, together with Yaa Gaali, and now after wearing it for an entire evening and day, having received a series of compliments, I want to tell you what sensations it gives me. From the first notes, the oriental gourmand genre is perceived as a powdery rose wrapped in gentle, vanilla and musky puffs. It is a sophisticated version of a rose and vanilla perfume, with special thanks to the unusual olfactory pyramid. Many compare it to #intense cafe, but it could resemble other fragrances based on rose, vanilla, and white musk. I could list all the perfumes I have that recall Dahaab Saafi, for example, Roses Musk EAU DE PARFUM , Roses Vanille EAU DE PARFUM , Rose Gourmand Women , or Maison Royale - Plaisir Café. Dahaab Saafi announces itself with dense, sweetish accords; the rose petals are powdery, caramelized and sprinkled with pulverized vanilla. I like to think of rose-flavoured jelly desserts. Lokum, known in Europe as Turkish delight, are gelatinous sweets typical of Turkish cuisine based on corn starch and sugar, flavoured with rose water or other perfumed flavourings, and covered with icing sugar. In this opening phase, I do not feel the coffee note, even if there is a slight nuance of something more similar to a cappuccino or latte macchiato. In the next phase, the perfume takes on a powdery tone. I feel creamy wood notes combined with clean notes of white musk. There is no trace of animal notes; the musk is vegetal, candid, of the kind encountered in the perfumes of #alyssha. Now the floral and sweet component has moved to the background. The essence I breathe is a musky, powdery rose, creamy, attractive, and addictive. It’s not enough to hear it rise from my clothes and neck. I keep bringing my nose closer to my wrists and always want more. After a few hours, the perfume fades away on mainly floral accords, tending towards the sensual. Now the scent of vanilla pods is intense, but thanks to the presence of roses and musks, the scent never takes on the sentimental aspects of a pastry dessert. On the contrary, a salty aspect is also perceived as if there was ambergris or, more likely, ambroxan. The creamy facet has hints of lemon, a bit like the characteristic aroma of magnolia with its fleshy, thick, and lemony petals. I am surprised by how the aroma of lemon intensifies more and more, present here in the final, persistent and non-volatile phase. Dahaab Saafi takes inspiration from Intense Cafe while remaining a different perfume with more sweetness and creaminess. As I wrote in the opening, there is a glimmer of something based on coffee, but it is not the dominant theme of this fragrance. It is a well-made perfume with excellent quality compared to its price, and not at all cheesy or synthetic. It is suitable for a cold climate, during autumn and winter days and evenings, although I also like to wear it in early spring. Compared to Yaa Gaali, this one performs very well, with projection and duration that are average or even better. I'm basing my opinion on a bottle I've owned since March 2023.

Okay, I just got this perfume in the post/mail. Let me compose myself... I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SMELL!!!!!!!!!!! Let me describe it to you. This is very dubai-smelling (I’ve never been to Dubai). It smells expensive, it’s not even a smell. It’s an aura, an aroma... any beautiful and arguable synonym for smell you could find - that’s what Dahaab Saafi is. Call me crazy but it’s like this scent is reaping into my skin like a cross stitch. AS IF THIS SMELL WAS MADE TO MERGE INTO MY DNA - like it was predestined for me to have. I want my body to smell like this. I wish I could spray my body with this and it lasted forever. This and Jimmy Choo - I want choo forever are my top two fragrances and I have just gotten a new whiff of this. Of course I’m going have to wait it out and get a grasp of the journey this scent will take me on from its top notes to its base notes. I’ve had it on for about 30 minutes now - this was my first impression as a descriptive : This is amazing. I’m beginning to smell the coffee now. It’s so subtle it’s like you’re in a fragrance shop full of tolerably sweet perfumes that have been swatched and the worker brought a sweet latte topped with foam and a little sprinkle of Chocolate powder. The coffees been sitting there for about fifteen minutes but a few perfumes have been swatched about an hour ago. The smells are mixing and the swatches are in their heart notes. It’s not a very rosey fragrance so don’t be alarmed if you detest roses. It’s more so a sweet, warm jammy rose. This fragrance is warm and feels like it’s warming me up like a cup of hot chocolate would you your insides but just on my outside. I love this I really do. Of course I’m going to have to wear the scent for a bit to measure the silage and the rest of a perfume’s anatomical traits but yeah, I like this fragrance. It feels like a hug and smells like trust. I got so excited after smelling this that I jumped about for a bit screaming ‘OH MY’ in delight before I put it on my shelf and sent to pray and I and thank God for allowing me to smell this perfume. I really hope it’s long lasting because I’m obsessed. If it’s not, I’m buying one to take with me wherever I go. I’ll update with the details to do with the silage, lasting power and anything else that may be relevant. I would say the musk isn’t overbearing on me, it just made this fragrance warmer, it’s like a thickener in a hot chocolate to make Italian hot chocolate, not a thickener to make a still chocolate pudding. This isn’t really chocolatey, excuse the frequent use of chocolate in my descriptions but honestly this perfume makes me smile. I think this is my first ever proper review on here that looks like an essay and it’s in fact MY FIRST EVER BLIND BUY REVIEW AFTER JOINING FRAGRANTICA! I like to take risks and blind buy with confidence and I can tell you now, if you wanna smell like a comforting hug, a memory that makes you smile and a sweet dessert princess (whatever that is), I can say that I feel these things wearing it and hope that you might feel good wearing it too <3

So cuuute! A very very, but veeery good dupe for Mancera Roses Vanille. It has the same sweet grourmand rose direction as mancera or Rose Gourmand from Zara. It's so good you don't even need Mancera, I has really impressed by the accuracy of the scent. It is a well made, no OFF notes, the scent is constructed clean, bright, i feel no heaviness / unclear notes as sometimes arabic perfumes have. No, this one is very clear, sunny scent (not in terms of notes, but in terms of they way it was constructed, blended, quality of ingredients) The issue is that it doesn't last. It's totally gone in 3 hours ( on skin). So if you don't mind re-applying and you like Mancera roses vanille/ or you want to try it - Dahaab Saafi Bait Al Bakhoor is definitely a good option.

Soooooo good! an amazing and affordable dupe of Manceras Roses Vanille. I love this stuff so much, I ordered multiple backups. I truly love the powdery rose/vanilla scent profile of all these fragrances since it's very versatile. it can be worn all year round, for any occasion, any time of the day. it smells just like the notes mentioned. To me, I get a soft pink bouquet of fresh roses, that have been heavily sprinkled with tons of powdered sugar. this is the main scent, and there's certainly musk and citrus lingering in the background. Definitely, a safe blind buy if you like the Roses Vanille scent profile! My only complaint would be I don't find this to be very long-lasting.

In winter I found this smell contains a bitterness (from the cedar and lemon combination?) that gave it an edge and perhaps sophistication, a unisex quality, like black leather and oud was underneath. But this is my first time trying it during a hot day, and it smells entirely different, much more womanly, incredibly warm, and definitely melted Belgian milk chocolate and deep pink roses! Wonderful. Even though it is a bit challenging for me to wear such a melting gourmand scent on an already warm day (when I would normally reach for something with tea / clean / fresh bright citrus fruity combos) this scent really sings in the warmth so I have to recommend it most for summer.
