Dahaab Saafi

Dahaab Saafi is part of the trilogy of perfumes that Afnan created with the brand Bait Al Bakhoor. I recently added it to my collection, together with Yaa Gaali, and now after wearing it for an entire evening and day, having received a series of compliments, I want to tell you what sensations it gives me. From the first notes, the oriental gourmand genre is perceived as a powdery rose wrapped in gentle, vanilla and musky puffs. It is a sophisticated version of a rose and vanilla perfume, with special thanks to the unusual olfactory pyramid. Many compare it to #intense cafe, but it could resemble other fragrances based on rose, vanilla, and white musk. I could list all the perfumes I have that recall Dahaab Saafi, for example, Roses Musk EAU DE PARFUM , Roses Vanille EAU DE PARFUM , Rose Gourmand Women , or Maison Royale - Plaisir Café. Dahaab Saafi announces itself with dense, sweetish accords; the rose petals are powdery, caramelized and sprinkled with pulverized vanilla. I like to think of rose-flavoured jelly desserts. Lokum, known in Europe as Turkish delight, are gelatinous sweets typical of Turkish cuisine based on corn starch and sugar, flavoured with rose water or other perfumed flavourings, and covered with icing sugar. In this opening phase, I do not feel the coffee note, even if there is a slight nuance of something more similar to a cappuccino or latte macchiato. In the next phase, the perfume takes on a powdery tone. I feel creamy wood notes combined with clean notes of white musk. There is no trace of animal notes; the musk is vegetal, candid, of the kind encountered in the perfumes of #alyssha. Now the floral and sweet component has moved to the background. The essence I breathe is a musky, powdery rose, creamy, attractive, and addictive. It’s not enough to hear it rise from my clothes and neck. I keep bringing my nose closer to my wrists and always want more. After a few hours, the perfume fades away on mainly floral accords, tending towards the sensual. Now the scent of vanilla pods is intense, but thanks to the presence of roses and musks, the scent never takes on the sentimental aspects of a pastry dessert. On the contrary, a salty aspect is also perceived as if there was ambergris or, more likely, ambroxan. The creamy facet has hints of lemon, a bit like the characteristic aroma of magnolia with its fleshy, thick, and lemony petals. I am surprised by how the aroma of lemon intensifies more and more, present here in the final, persistent and non-volatile phase. Dahaab Saafi takes inspiration from Intense Cafe while remaining a different perfume with more sweetness and creaminess. As I wrote in the opening, there is a glimmer of something based on coffee, but it is not the dominant theme of this fragrance. It is a well-made perfume with excellent quality compared to its price, and not at all cheesy or synthetic. It is suitable for a cold climate, during autumn and winter days and evenings, although I also like to wear it in early spring. Compared to Yaa Gaali, this one performs very well, with projection and duration that are average or even better. I'm basing my opinion on a bottle I've owned since March 2023.

Okay, I just got this perfume in the post/mail. Let me compose myself... I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SMELL!!!!!!!!!!! Let me describe it to you. This is very dubai-smelling (I’ve never been to Dubai). It smells expensive, it’s not even a smell. It’s an aura, an aroma... any beautiful and arguable synonym for smell you could find - that’s what Dahaab Saafi is. Call me crazy but it’s like this scent is reaping into my skin like a cross stitch. AS IF THIS SMELL WAS MADE TO MERGE INTO MY DNA - like it was predestined for me to have. I want my body to smell like this. I wish I could spray my body with this and it lasted forever. This and Jimmy Choo - I want choo forever are my top two fragrances and I have just gotten a new whiff of this. Of course I’m going have to wait it out and get a grasp of the journey this scent will take me on from its top notes to its base notes. I’ve had it on for about 30 minutes now - this was my first impression as a descriptive : This is amazing. I’m beginning to smell the coffee now. It’s so subtle it’s like you’re in a fragrance shop full of tolerably sweet perfumes that have been swatched and the worker brought a sweet latte topped with foam and a little sprinkle of Chocolate powder. The coffees been sitting there for about fifteen minutes but a few perfumes have been swatched about an hour ago. The smells are mixing and the swatches are in their heart notes. It’s not a very rosey fragrance so don’t be alarmed if you detest roses. It’s more so a sweet, warm jammy rose. This fragrance is warm and feels like it’s warming me up like a cup of hot chocolate would you your insides but just on my outside. I love this I really do. Of course I’m going to have to wear the scent for a bit to measure the silage and the rest of a perfume’s anatomical traits but yeah, I like this fragrance. It feels like a hug and smells like trust. I got so excited after smelling this that I jumped about for a bit screaming ‘OH MY’ in delight before I put it on my shelf and sent to pray and I and thank God for allowing me to smell this perfume. I really hope it’s long lasting because I’m obsessed. If it’s not, I’m buying one to take with me wherever I go. I’ll update with the details to do with the silage, lasting power and anything else that may be relevant. I would say the musk isn’t overbearing on me, it just made this fragrance warmer, it’s like a thickener in a hot chocolate to make Italian hot chocolate, not a thickener to make a still chocolate pudding. This isn’t really chocolatey, excuse the frequent use of chocolate in my descriptions but honestly this perfume makes me smile. I think this is my first ever proper review on here that looks like an essay and it’s in fact MY FIRST EVER BLIND BUY REVIEW AFTER JOINING FRAGRANTICA! I like to take risks and blind buy with confidence and I can tell you now, if you wanna smell like a comforting hug, a memory that makes you smile and a sweet dessert princess (whatever that is), I can say that I feel these things wearing it and hope that you might feel good wearing it too <3

So cuuute! A very very, but veeery good dupe for Mancera Roses Vanille. It has the same sweet grourmand rose direction as mancera or Rose Gourmand from Zara. It's so good you don't even need Mancera, I has really impressed by the accuracy of the scent. It is a well made, no OFF notes, the scent is constructed clean, bright, i feel no heaviness / unclear notes as sometimes arabic perfumes have. No, this one is very clear, sunny scent (not in terms of notes, but in terms of they way it was constructed, blended, quality of ingredients) The issue is that it doesn't last. It's totally gone in 3 hours ( on skin). So if you don't mind re-applying and you like Mancera roses vanille/ or you want to try it - Dahaab Saafi Bait Al Bakhoor is definitely a good option.

Soooooo good! an amazing and affordable dupe of Manceras Roses Vanille. I love this stuff so much, I ordered multiple backups. I truly love the powdery rose/vanilla scent profile of all these fragrances since it's very versatile. it can be worn all year round, for any occasion, any time of the day. it smells just like the notes mentioned. To me, I get a soft pink bouquet of fresh roses, that have been heavily sprinkled with tons of powdered sugar. this is the main scent, and there's certainly musk and citrus lingering in the background. Definitely, a safe blind buy if you like the Roses Vanille scent profile! My only complaint would be I don't find this to be very long-lasting.

In winter I found this smell contains a bitterness (from the cedar and lemon combination?) that gave it an edge and perhaps sophistication, a unisex quality, like black leather and oud was underneath. But this is my first time trying it during a hot day, and it smells entirely different, much more womanly, incredibly warm, and definitely melted Belgian milk chocolate and deep pink roses! Wonderful. Even though it is a bit challenging for me to wear such a melting gourmand scent on an already warm day (when I would normally reach for something with tea / clean / fresh bright citrus fruity combos) this scent really sings in the warmth so I have to recommend it most for summer.

People, do not overspray 30 sprays and then complain that you can't smell this fragrance at all! Did you ever hear about anosmia? Those complaining that this scent has poor projection and performance, I say that you don't have the right skin chemistry with it. On me, it projects by filling an entire room within seconds and lasts at least 6 hours on skin, much longer on hair and clothes (until washing). BTW it has no chocolate note whatsoever, like someone wrote below. It's rose jam combined with vanilla and slight musky undertones. For a little over $10, it's a steal.

Sweet vanilla and rose jam fragnance. One of my absolute winter favourites. True gourmand as whenever I wear this one I feeling like I could eat it. Yum. This is almost 1:1 to Intense Cafe by Montale. If you already have one of them, I dont think you necessarily need the other. If you like the scent but dont have any of them yet - I would recommend going with this one. Although it doesnt last as long its much cheaper. I got mine for less than 9€. Yay for the (good) dupes!

Wonderful jammy rose, with lots of creamy vanilla and no coffee notes on my skin. The bottle is heavy and luxurious although it is gold and to some, it may look tacky. But in the Middle East, gold is the norm. I also have Rose Gourmand from Zara, and the 2 are identical to my nose and on my skin. Very similar to Monotheme Saffron as well. Great performance from all of them, and great value too. Dahaab and Rose Gourmand are said to be great dupes of Montale Intense Cafe.

A new classic in my collection!!! I can't stop wearing this alone or layering it over al rehab oils (Golden Sand, French Coffee, Alyoum) Sweet, Rosey, Vanilla, softy and a comforting scent. Sillage is quite weak but lasts a while 4 what it costs (5-6 hours). Non-offensive and versatile overall, gonna buy again (running low already lmao it's only been 3 months since i got it)

Dahaab Saafi is a wonderful, unexpected, excellent fragrance; as has been written is dense, sweet, I feel caramel, coffee and some cleanand soft rose petals, over caramelized and sprinkled vanilla. I like it a lot, in the opening phase I feel the coffee note, similar to a latte macchiato, then all the lovely blend.

Super sweet, almost fruity roses and vanilla, in the same vein as mancera roses Vanille, but most similar to Al haramain tanasuk. I personally love it, the performance isn’t amazing, but it’s so cheap I don’t mind respraying.

I stumbled upon this perfume while searching for a similar one. Given the excellent reviews, I decided to buy it, and I find it truly extraordinary! Unexpectedly, After a few days of trying it, became my number one perfume.

Basically identical to Rouge Prive by Novellista for a tenth of the price. Well done 👍🏼✅ Btw I've never smelled the version of this scent by Montale so I can't speak to how close of a dupe it is to that one

this is amazing sweet but light perfume. only problem that it is not so strong... concentration of perfume is probably not so big, but i cannot complain for the price of 12 euros.. :)

Incredible perfume for the price. It's pretty much exactly the same as montale intense cafe / mancera roses vanile. I got it for 6 dollars. 6 DOLLARS. 100000/10

I always think "it can't be as good as I remember...", then I proceed to smelling it and "OMG, it is even beter!" Every.Single.Time. What a masterpiece!

I would love this if the longevity can be better. I am already over-spraying, like 30 sprays all over my body (clothes) but it only stays for like 2-3 hours, it leans more on the skin though. It's only the beginning of autumn here so it's not very cold yet. I would love to bring this bottle with me when I'm going out or work so I can just spray them again since the price of this would not break the bank and I can just repurchase again, but the bottle is big and heavy, the presentation is great, it looks like expensive perfume. The smell alone is really good, fresh rosy, sweet scent and the dry down is vanilla gourmand. Update: I sprayed it on my partner, and for some reason, it stays on his jacket/hoodies for more than 48 hours till he's sick of the smell and asks me to put it in the washing machine, he doesn't like the smell, it reminds him of a rotten apple.

I watched a YouTube review of this fragrance and was very interested in buying it. Let me just tell you that I'm so glad I got my nose on a tester before wasting my money on a full bottle. The perfume is great, please don't misunderstand... but when I smelt it, I just knew that I had smelled this before, in fact, I knew that I had something in my collection that was a sister to this fragrance. Where have I smelt this before? Roses vanille by Mancera. What fragrance do I have that replicates a similar vibe? Tanasuk by Al Haramain. This is a beautiful airy, almost sugary rose (which turns powdery as it dries down), a ton of white musk, sweet vanilla and cedar in the dry down. I suspect rose is not the only pink flower in this fragrance. It's lovely, just not an original profile.

I wonder why there is no caffe note or accord listed, if this is an Intense coffe inspired scent? Why so many different option, what's happening? Edit: after I decided to blind buy it (technically I sampled Intense Cafe to have a clue) now I can confirm it: It is like Intense Cafe from Montale!! Magically the rose, vanille and citrus creates a café scent effect! Period. I like it a lot, a bit flowery, a bit boozy, it's a very pleasant scent. Like drinking coffee at autumn in a rose garden and eating vanilla cookies filled with rose jam. It's not a real gourmand, and also not a heavy scent. Poor longevity improved after 3 months of maceration, but it's still max 4-6hour on clothes. On my skin is a fast skin scent.

Jammy rose and vanilla. I don't own intense cafe or roses vanille so I can't compare this to them, but this has the same vibe as Rose Gourmand. It's a little synthetic not gonna lie, but I really don't mind it. Lasts and projects nicely, and in my opinion works with all seasons. If you are interested in trying the rose-vanilla vibe and find this for an affordable price, I'd say go for it? Edit: Also reminds me a liiitle bit of Grandeur by Zimaya, but that one is more of an airy-salty version and also sweeter and more powerful. Like if you added olympea or JHAG vanilla vibes to Dahaab saafi you might get something like Grandeur.

A slightly sweeter, more caramel version of Intense Cafe. Performance and reflection be lighter, but still completely acceptable. When it dries down, this also has a nice depth, and I have no complaints about the long-lasting either (moderate on me) . Dries maybe a little more minty than IC, but not much difference to my nose. An all round excellent budget beauty.

I love this perfume. In my opinion, it smells like honey and apples. However, I recommend you buy this online as you can get it for the cheapest price, certain vendors may offer s higher price.

Me personally, I dislike the rose fragrances but I wanted to give it a try (who knows, sometimes one can change his mind) so I blind bought this, being affordable. The package lookes luxurious. The fragrance stays a lifetime on the skin, so I guess it's a good quality perfume. It's Roses Vanilla by Mancera (that I blind bought because of the vanilla note- my big mistake, I had to gift it away- but combined with the roses, definitely not for my nose) but sweeter. If you're into vanilla /rose fragrances this will work for you. For me?! Not so much. I ll keep it for the bottle and hopefully in the colder days, I ll begin to like it(but I seriously doubt that)

I blind-bought this, was waiting for my purchase with a great excitement. First of all, I can tell this is a well made perfume, you can not say this is cheap, also you smell every note (coffee as extra as well). So I gave it a try, however, I found the the lemon & coffee mix very artificial and metallic. If you like the Mancera or Montale scents, you should give it a try because this is giving the same vibe. But if you like grown, well blended and natural fragrances, this is not a safe blindly for you. Note: I macerated for 1 Year, and now it is similar with the jtc k'bridge club. I still don't use it, but became just very nice.

Discovered this on YouTube and it sounded interesting, so I blind bought this scent online. My batch is fairly recent, PD 01/24. Performance and sillage are very poor with this one. It lasts about 30 Minutes and it's a skin scent. I get sugary rose and vanilla. Very linear and nothing special. My weakest middle eastern fragrance. I'll let this macerate, but my hopes aren't high.

Very sweet perfume, not really similar to Rose Vanille by Mancera. It’s basically artificial rose that barely smells like rose with sugar. In Rose Vanille you can clearly smell roses and vanilla, not here. For the price it is ok, but I do not recommend buying it at all. Just save up for the original instead of wasting your money on buying duped that are not good enough.

By the price is ok, but it is nothing special. A Montale wannabe but without the strong sillage and projection. very dissapointing purchase. Again, considering the price is ok. I will not buy it again.

I have both dahaab saafi and montale intens cafe. They both smell amazing because they are the same! 😅 Only differences are that the dupe is softer (i find that it has less cafe than the montale) and the dupe is also not so long projecting. But for the price and the smell, i dont mind, you can always overspray 😉 I layer my intens cafe with the dupe version to spare me some of the original. And it works perfectly for me!

I think there is a mistake about the fragrance here. A lot of people talks about coffee notes ? It's more about Roses ans Musk,.closer to Delina or Musk and Roses from Montale than Montale Café

I have a sample of Intense Café and this one is a little bit sweeter and creamier. Performance is quite good but not the same sillage as Intense Café. Anyway, i think it's worth it !

I think Lemon and Watery notes are just the opening note top notes, just very fugace. After it's rose, vanilla and Musk. Very beautiful. Simple, powerfull enough. A steal

Not for men. Very oriental vibe. Smells like fresh rose jelly with honey. Too bad this kind of rose makes it suitable only for mature/old ladies.
