Baldessarini Black

I do have this perfume right now, and I do love it. The opening of the fragrance is the best part for me as it feels boozy/fruity with peppery feel, after 5 minutes it loses this sweetness and transfer to a leathery green type of scent, I don't get the basil that much as the reviewers seems to get, but I do get a leathery/ambery dry feel, where the leather, labdanum, patchouli are the main notes that I get till the end of its duration. I was hoping for a little more sweetness to the scent profile (which is present in the opening, but then dissappears quickly) it would appeal to my taste more. But I do love the scent profile as it is unique to me, the closest in the scent profile would be Roccobarocco black for men ( but Rocco is fresher)

WOW - An incredible release, most interesting in 2023. I am fascinated by this. This is quite a smoky oldworld dark green peppery lavish gentleman, smells like a Guerlain. Smells money and sophistication. Not ”offputting” at all but ”bold” so easy on sprays, this would be great in the cold winters night because of the performance. It would also compliment a shiny black leather jacket and a rebellious moodset. I feel this is a blend of: -Lalique Hommage a l’homme (a perfect replacement of it) -La Rive Gauche -Heritage by Guerlain -Dior Homme (original 2005) -Dark Rebel There is no ”ice” in this to me, it is not fresh like that. Darkness smoke and incense is abundant.

Comes out as a modern musk for me. Malleable. Matte Black and violet purple toned. Aroma field generates misty rather then staid bubble. More steam then creme in later stages as well. Then vanishes, doesn't stay skin scent long. Three sprays does three hours. After that requires a hug to be smelled. Sold best as 2.5 oz portable. Mid designer priced at $45 for 50 ml at my favorite discounter. At the end of the day its a decent challenge with upside. Not for anyone under 30. Doesn't smell old but it takes mastering to bring out its color (blackberry). It could get hairy on a hopper.

Shaving cream on top of Smooth and soft leather. This is a nice mature fragrance that is calming and professional. A very nice modern classic for semi formal and formal wear, good for business casual settings all year round. It's maybe too balanced for date night and not very exciting for your audience (at any age). I'd recommend Guerlain L'Instant fragrances first Lalique's Hommage Voyageur next, or even Zino, which have a dirtier patchouli feel. I like this more than zino though.

I wonder who the noses are. One of the noses of the perfect OG, Baldessarini, is Pierre Wargnye, nose of Drakkar Noir, YSL L'Homme and La Nuit de l'Homme. All perfect fragrances. This Black flanker is barber shop perfection on all counts except strength. But my nose is stuffy during hay fever season so maybe it has that as well. It's on sale online in Europe these days.

Great release by Baldessarini somehow remained under the radars📡 go and ask why? It's leathery& fresh & woodsy❤️ also reminded of ysl rive gauche pour Homme! Great fragrance by all means👌 unfairly underrated?

Was going to post a review, but Casamir nails it perfectly! I've owned two variations of Rive Gauche . . .I actually prefer this more! Banger for the price!

A fresh leather scent!Baldessarini this time gave us something very funny,a leather wearable for summer!But has a very weak presence.

It is a Nice Fragrance, Spicy, Tangy, Airy, Dark, Nostalgic and Leathery. I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments and watched reviews on YouTube with reasonable price. It opens up with a bit sharp Spicy and Tangy , green and floral notes in the background then dry down is a bit sweet creamy resinous, Leathery and woody. That's correct about this perfume for : men and not for boys by The Motto of Baldessarini. Baldessarini Black is similar to classic perfume with old school style and a little bit mature but it smells so good. The Leather and Labdanum notes are dominant in this Scent. In the Community of perfume and fragrance say that It is similar to Rive Gauche by YSL but I haven't tried it yet ! It is suitable for Spring, Fall and Winter . I really enjoy it when the weather is Rainy or Cold. Longevity is good. Rating : 7.5 / 10

Fresh, icy, minty. Black is an interesting creation from Baldessarini. It is a minty fragrance with a herbal basil accord, drawn over a soft, woody background. Fresh, cool, spicy. Has sharp edge to it without being too sharp. Quite unique actually! The cool feeling Black has is reminiscent of a minty toothpaste. I emphasize of reminiscent as it does not smell like toothpaste but has a faint similarity to their cooling effect. This is multi-season kind of scent leans slightly toward the mature. Big "Like".

Baldessarini Black Baldessarini Saw the mixed reviews, decided to try it. Got a bottle in from fragx. I like the bottle, all black nice design. Wasn't what I expected. Opens spicy, the amber seems weird, smells old and dated, it isn't fresh nor barbershop like some comments. Could be the storage cuz smells like years in storage on the shelves but this is a 2019 frag so it's still pretty new. You guys need to like old vintage scents to like this.

With the frequent comparisons to Rive Gauche, I was expecting more of a barbershop fougere. This opens with a blast of basil (the strongest I have ever smelled), patchouli, incense (from the myrhh) and labdanum (providing a honey/amber aspect). As another reviewer mentioned, the basil is off-putting, and combined with the other notes listed above, at least for the first 30 minutes, create something that edges up to sweet/cloying. It brings to mind Lattafa Maahir Black (but less smoky) and Ted Lapidus Black Soul, though it is not a duplicate of either. As this reaches the one-hour mark, an amber/tonka accord has stepped up more to counterpoint the basil/patchouli, and a vanilla/cinnamon background becomes evident. There is also an element of Polo Green's pine note, which is a bit unfortunate for me due to my dousing myself with that for too many years during high school, but it is not an overwhelming element so it is manageable. This is an admirable fragrance - daring (with the basil lead), accurate (you can smell most of the listed elements at one time or another) and complex, with a surprising amount of development for a fragrance that can be had as a 75ml tester for around $20. Performance is good, with a good two hours of projection and remaining detectable on chest and shirt for around 7 hours. But do I LIKE it? Darn good question. I love my old-school fougeres (Paco Rabanne, Azzaro, Quorum), but this misses that category. I have a soft spot for dark/sweet things like Maahir Black and Black Soul, but they do the blend better - and even then, they are a niche reach that don't get a lot of playing time. So perhaps this is a victim of its own uniqueness and bravery. If you like any of the other fragrances listed above, I think this deserves an attempt, especially if you like Polo, and for the price, there is little to lose. I plan to keep a 10ml decant of this and sell the partial, in recognition of how close to niche-artistry the designer got at a very low price point.

Scent is nice and unique, reminds me a bit of armani code in the opening. The real downside is the terrible performance, it barely holds 2 hour on skin and projection i dont think it will last even half hour. I recommend this aroma if you are collecting otherwise stay away.

Strong Basil note, little bit off-putting.

If you’re looking for Rive Gauche or anything remotely close, don’t bother. If you’re looking for something that lasts more than 90 minutes, look elsewhere. Paid $30 and even that feels like I paid too much. I wouldn’t even call this a barbershop scent. Opens up very inky like chewing on your pen in class and it pops in your mouth inky. That settles and then some other stuff happens, get hints of Pharrell’s Girl but who cares it’s gone faster than cupcakes at a fat kids birthday party. Don’t believe the hype, even at rock bottom prices avoid this. 2/10 2 points for the bottle being decent.

First impressions. I get mainly patchouli, the earthy kind, maybe supported by resinous labdanum, giving it an oriental touch. Nice. The "myrrh" note seems to be just a natural aspect of patchouli. I wouldn't compare it to Davidoff Zino. The latter is more herbal, floral, and has soft barbershop accents with lavender in it. This one is straight up patchouli to me. Maybe some powderiness to it, making it similar to Laboratorio Olfattivo Patchouliful.

Wonderful. My first Baldessarini fragrance and its a winner. I get similar feeling like with Zino, little bit different but its there definitely, that same beautiful patchouli mentholated breeze in the background. Zino goes in rose,sandalwood and chocolate direction while Baldessarini is more herbal,spicy and aromatic but with a similar patchouli backbone. This fragrance made my day today, love it

In a nutshell Zino=tobacco Baldessarini Black=leather Same stuff, with a punch in that note. Baldessarini's is weaker. I was curious, blind bought it. Sounded very nice, but for me it's just a miss. Cause Zino is just much better IMHO. If you like one, you'll probably like the other. But it's better saving money for beau de jour or something. Seems to be Zino upgraded. Peace!
