Trial of the Grasses (Próba Traw)

First of all a beautiful presentation. Now the scent itself. Opening might be a bit harsh for the faint hearted. A blast of juniper and pine. The walk in the forest begins. Fresh, damp and foggy. Then the Cypriol oil and Vetiver takes charge. It’s heavy on the Cypriol oil yet evolving with balance. Getting darker and sticks to the skin with lovely musky notes. Solid base backed up by the leather (which is not dominant) that lingers. In the dry down becomes a bit more animalic. I get good 7 hours on my skin with a good arm length projection for the first 3-4 hours. Won’t recommend spraying it on clothes though it stays solid but might be overwhelming. The magic happens on skin. Overall a beautiful composition with natural raw materials. Definitely on the male side and a good 4.2/5 for me. Another great creation from Alan ❤️

Disclaimer: I have batch no.2 sample The perfume starts off with a damp, right-after-rain, greenish forest-floor vibe. Wet soil and herbs (wild mint is the most prominent) are all around as you walk in the woods. After around 30 minutes a distant, slightly sour and well-rounded aromatic smoke mixed with the essence of vetiver and nagarmotha hits your nose. The smoke accord is amping up, as you reach the fire in a forest-glade surrounded by giant oaks. As you sit close to the fire, the smell of oakmoss and precious woods mixing up with the smoke and mellows to a nice, slightly dry woody base sweetened a bit by balsamic notes. Longevity is great, 8+ hours on my skin, projection is excellent for a good 2-3 hours, great for another 3, and perfume will sit close to your skin for the last 2-3 hours.
