Cristóbal (2025)

I was wowed by this the first time I smelled it and immediately bought it without second thought. I’ve smelled many Oud fragrances but this one might be my favorite. In simplest terms, it’s a leathery pancake syrup. It’s VERY thick and sweet almost like honey. The Oud smells like straight leather making it an extremely masculine fragrance. It has a very dark undertone from the Oud and is strictly a winter fragrance. The notes have to be lying. I smell leather, vanilla, Amber, resins, cinnamon, cardamom and honey. With some earthiness in the base. I think the notes are extremely misleading. The Oud isn’t animalic In any way, but is no mean blind buy safe. Overall I love it and is probably my favorite Oud forward fragrance. It smells like leather and pancake syrup. Very masculine with dark and earthy undertones. Incredible performance on skin with over 10 hours of longevity, projecting for about 8.

I really thought this would smell vintage and strict but the first thing I got was dark cocoa powder. Not sweet or edible, just dry and elegant. To me it feels timeless. I also got a compliment the first time I wore it out.

Not an oud at all, this is a lavish rose patchouli immortelle Chypre (?) that delivers what Le Mat promised. Beautiful chocolatey dry down. Amazing.

I sprayed cristal balls on my hand and it lasted all day. It’s very voluptuous and sexy.

The opening is a slightly animalic almost powdery oud. The dry down reminds me of a slightly sweet caramel oud, to my nose at least. It’s unfortunately a little too linear for my taste. If it was cheaper I would consider purchasing it.

The scent is very nice. Unfortunately, I received a bottle with a deflective/leaking atomizer from Balenciaga. Balenciaga refused to replace the item. I heard this problem is not uncommon.

If you ever opened a new Barbie box in the 90s, this is the exact smell of the doll. I've been wanting to experience that memory again for a long time

First impression: Mouthwatering patchouli. Try this if you like Jovoy Psychedelique. Performance is great too.

This scent made me feel like I'm wearing all black. This is like a Batman fragrance. Solid 7.5/10

This is more patchouli than oud; more herbal, less chocolaty & modern than Nasomatto Pardon

I approached this expecting a dramatic moss-and-patchouli bomb, but instead I was met with sweet vanilla, a chocolate-leaning patchouli, and an oud that’s smooth and inoffensive. I can’t call it bad, but it didn’t wow me either; this is a very familiar scent profile, one I keep encountering over and over, and I honestly couldn’t find anything particularly sophisticated about it. In my many years of collecting and wearing fragrances, there's only a handful that have made me angry, and this is one of them. I'm so confused at the reviews. Mine is a sample actually from Balenciaga. I thought I would love this because I love and am still interested in getting the old bottle. I have a 5 ml and it's wonderful and vanilla-y smelling with the other notes melding beautifully together. I put this all over my arms, and what hit me right away is a barnyard oud. If you've ever smelled a barnyard/farm, you'll know. I hated it, but wanted it to dry down, hopefully in getting more of the patchouli and oak moss. Well, it's been four hours now, and it has gotten no better! I haven't gotten any oak moss or patchouli. It started making me nauseous so first I scrubbed hard with lots of soap and water. No dice. So then I sprayed my heaviest hitter-Profumum Roma's Patchouly on it, and 30 minutes later, guess what? That damn smell has come through my patchouly perfume and the barnyard has taken over again!! Why even name this Cristobal if it has nothing to do with the first named perfume! HATE IT! ZERO STARS. An actual barnyard smells better than this. At least in a barnyard I'd have a horse to run away on to escape this hellish scent. Of course, after seeing Balenciaga's horrific ad campaign, maybe Lucifer himself actually made this one.

Heavy dose of strong, chocolate like patchouli and vanilla. Think of Tuxedo by YSL but much more rugged and earthy. The Oud adds a warmth and depth to it. It’s not the most prominent but it certainly is a player in the base. Very deep, yet somehow, this fragrance feels familiar. Perhaps too familiar. Good performance and projection overall.

This is a Daniel Craig James Bond, wrapped in a black tux, sipping on a patchouli-bombed champagne, being whispered to by an oud-kissed vixen. A little rugged but refined.

Synthetic dense bomb.smells dated. Doesn’t really smell like Oud, moss, or patchouli either for that matter. Kind of sweet and powdery and vaguely floral

A rich, deep and powerful patchouli cinnamon that is modern and classic all at once. The one not to miss from this line.

This gives Hortus Sanitatis from Gucci and maybe Patchouli 24 from Le Labo! Surprisingly this works out cheapest!

Creed Oud Zarian should have smelled like this. They’re the same company after all (Kering Beaute)

Oud for Greatness/Haltane sort of DNA, but still someone unique. Love it
