Rosabotanica

GORGEOUS, in my opinion. A pleasant surprise for me, considering I genuinely did not like Florabotanica and thought it'd be too much of a powdery rose scent. It's not that in the slightest. It's very green and not what you'd expect at all. But this is certainly a perfume that people will either like or dislike. Anything that's very green, earthy and spicy is what I believe to be an acquired taste. (Understandably, since not everyone wants to smell like hot dirt, steamy air and flowers. Haha!) I personally find it divine in its initial intrigue and ability to transform nicely on my skin. Firstly, I am hit with this unbelievably herbal, fresh, vibrant and spicy blend that I find intoxicating. A lot of people were right on the money in that it smells like a hothouse, or an open field after it rains, or how your hands smell after gardening. I truly cannot get enough of how it reminds me of my summers spent in the mountains. Or rainy afternoons on an otherwise nice day and the sun comes back out soon afterward. Simply beautiful. After the dry down, the scent starts to change into something that is a little more generic, yet remains quite nice to me. It's still very warm and a little spicy from the pink pepper. I do find it to be much cleaner, tamer, a little creamy and sweet, and detect a slightly soapy impression once the strong herbal smell fades more. Admittedly, I was at first disappointed the smell that took my breath away faded into something that was safe. But I quickly changed my mind after I kept smelling my wrist or putting my head down my shirt to get a whiff of that clean comfort. I think Balenciaga took a daring scent and made it more modern and wearable for most people in the end. (A testament to Cristobal's style, if I do say so myself.) Adding to my theory is how surprisingly close this perfume sits to the skin. It has very moderate sillage. Overall, I define this scent as being very clean, yet sexy and interesting. I see a very classy and modern lady wearing this. The description given this perfume is "Spicy. Beautiful. Dangerous." which is accurate. I would say it's "Earthy. Spicy. Fresh." LOVE!

So I found this perfume accidentally, I worked in a hotel and somebody left the bottle behind, but there was still a tiny bit inside, so I took it as I loved the design, those flowers just amazed me. Then I tried it one day, I found it interesting, unusual, something I've never met before. As it was a new scent for my nose it hit me sometimes that day and I loved it, loved what it did to my senses. Then I tried to find a similar perfume, tested so many, but couldn't match it with anything. I bought my first Rosabotanica later, that was around 3 years ago. I mixed it with the James Bond 007 for women as I found them go well with each other, also I wanted to save my 30ml Rosabotanica as much as I could. Then I used it all and since then I try to find it somewhere, but I couldn't find anywhere, I mean, I won't buy it for hundreds of pounds from eBay or Amazon. This is my FAVORITE PERFUME. I feel it complicated and heavy and I feel lust when I smell it. GORGEOUS. And I can't buy it anywhere and can't feel it on anybody. Such a shame, how come this amazing perfume is stopped being sold (at least here in the UK). You know, there are perfumes which smell really nice and very popular and everybody is wearing them and so on, but nothing really interesting in them, but you easily can give up on them when you find another lovely one. Rosabotanica is so different. I feel it is kind of a love or hate, you are addicted to it or you just can't stand it. Unfortunately, I'm not an expert who can tell its notes or what it reminds me, I feel it sour and heavy and extremely unique. When I feel it nothing rosiness comes to me, but the sourness and I just love it so much. I'm craving for this perfume, seriously.

These are the notes that I can smell which are totally different to the ones in the pyramid and indeed in the description given by the perfume house itself. The opening is a beautiful effervescent, lemony and grapefruit citrus which is enhanced by a herbal, almost pine like note further enhanced by a sweet woodyness. The grapefruit is slightly bitter and complements the peppery opening. This is a gorgeous fresh start to a wonderful journey into a Spanish orchard in midsummer, when the fruit is ripe and ready for the picking and the smell of harvesting is in the air. Rose??? I'm trying very hard to smell rose since I am a rose lover, (my perfume wardrobe should tell you that) but try as hard as I might, I cannot get a rose note. The fact that there is no rose is not a problem to me as this perfume is astoundingly beautiful and I mean that in all sincerity. This is a stunning fragrance! It surrounds you with the most discreet freshness and unique green aroma of spicy, herbal, citrus florals. It boarders on the sweet but misses it slightly. Indeed, the sweetness that I mention to you, may be misleading since this is a very natural sweetness and not at all sugary or synthetic. One Fragrantican said that this is a complex perfume which needs handling well and I couldn't agree more. This is a complex and intoxicating journey which I am so glad to have taken and the memory of it will surely induce me to purchase a FB in the future.

Oh wow! What can i say about this perfume. It was a blind buy so i wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as i got in the car, i tore the box open and sprayed my wrist and the air. Instantly i was transported to 1990 when i was ten years old sitting in my bedroom with my hamsters. At first all i could feel is hamster cage. I ignored that off putting sense realizing this is not dirty cedar from my hamster cage when i was a kid. The only reason that's where the smell took me is that was the only association i had with cedar. I waited and wow, I'm falling in love, I'm not in my bedroom any more, I'm in a beautiful cedar wood forest, every thing is covered with dew, there's roses in the distance. Im really enjoying this. I've had this perfume fir a while now and i love it more and more each time i wear it. The Cedar is clean, realistic, gorgeous, roses are dewy and distant but there, pink pepper, vetiver and fig are paired along with the Cedar. I've never been so intrigued by a fragrance. I've never felt more powerful, confident, positive in a fragrance. I receive at least 6 compliments a day from men and women while i wear it. Im glad that my un educated nose is becoming more intelligent. Longevity 10hours, sillage arms length. More important than getting compliments is that i feel beautiful when i wear it. Imagine a mystical creature stepping out of a dewy cedar wood forest, that is what this perfume smells like

It's so peculiar. With the endless assault of petitgrain, I should have been able to easily dismiss this fragrance, but it has proven to be rather appealing. Full bottle appealing, actually. It's such a birkenstock fragrance; so L.L. Bean :) It makes me feel I should be out hiking or at least posed in a Lands End catalog pretending. I know it's the effect of the herbal accord but knowing it doesn't make me any less susceptible to the pull. That all being said, I don't want to give the impression Rosabotanica is earthy. It's not. We'd need quite a bit more patchouli here for that, but it is down to earth. Down to earth in a very appealing way. You won't get your 'hands' dirty spraying it. It's green (from the fig leaf and petitgrain), rosy, cleaner. It's conservative in feel, focused...attractive. Rosabotanica not a fragrance I would describe as pretty. I have enough of those. Noteworthy Notes petitgrain rose pepper cardamom! green fig leaves more herbs than listed woods blended and unidentifiable to me, but solid What's not here (and not missed) sweetness creaminess "pretty" So what we have here is a fragrance for the wearer who does not enjoy more 'perfumey' offerings. Be warned, you can't just like herbal leaning fragrances to wear this, you must love them! Fortunately, I do! Well, at least with Rosabotanica I do :)

I do find it hard to review perfumes that I really REALLY love! Would I do it justice?! I am a Balengiaca fan. Their perfumes are feminine but not overly girlie. They always seem to blend unusual notes so masterfully. Rosabotanica is no exception. This is definitely a perfume that makes me happy (even a tad excited) when wearing it. It is pretty, but unusual. Pretty in a "green" way, rather than in a "pink" or "purple" sort of way! Yes - absolutely fig leaves - that soft tropically greenness that reminds me of climbing our fig tree as a child. I did not pick the rose note until I read the notes listed. But now I definitely pick out the rose, though not in a traditional fashion. Even the rose smells more green. Again, though, this is a SOFT, sweeter green, rather than a sharper, grassy green. The cardamom adds more sweetness and a bit of spice. These three notes are the strongest on my skin. As the scent develops, I do smell the amber base too. Thankfully no patchouli on my skin! I think I'd actually like Rosabotanica as a signature scent, but at the same time, it holds such a special place for me at the moment, that I don't want to risk over-using it. For now, it will probably stay my once-in-a-blue-moon super-power boost-me-up fragrance... until I find a big bottle at a good price anyway!!

I liked the name and the notes as described. The store didn't have a tester though so I was dubious. but I asked and the lady opened a sample for me, I was so glad I asked and didn't just say "another time". On my arm where I sprayed it it started off green, and almost peachy. I suspect that was the citrus coming to call and playing with the hyacinth. My first inkling that this was going to be a winner was receiving compliments on it in the elevator heaving back to the car, Complete strangers asking what that lovely scent was. The dry down just keeps getting better heading into a faintly green slightly spicy smelling floral, the green notes really make the florals come alive like you are smelling them in a garden and not as a scent. Longevity ion this is massive. I sprayed it on in the morning and its now dinnertime and its still a noticeable scent and the Silage is impressive but not overpowering. Its a perfume that likes to make a statement but not in an offensive overpowering way. Like a lady in a red dress at a cocktail party where every other woman is wearing black or white. Its classy, elegant and ready to strut her stuff unashamed. Some love her some hate her, some are jealous of her and she is fine with that. She is just her.

Balenciaga can never fail to to impress me. Although it may not be everyone's style of fragrances, they are undoubtedly unique. Balenciaga is most definitely forming its own DNA with their homage to greenhouse, mossy styled scents. Rosabotanica is incredible. Have you ever smelled a woods note that can be fresh? This scent reminds me of a forest floor, right after a heavy rainfall. The leaves have turned into mush, everything is wet, the pinecones have been soaked in water and the air is fresh. The sun us slightly casting its last rays, heating everything up. It's a shiver before the warmth of the sun greets you. Maybe that 'dirt' smell is from the cannabis, which compliments everything so well. Hence the forest floor scene. There is a waft of sweetness i get from this scent, almost similar to what you get when cut fresh Dill. I think that is from the rose. Such a shame this is discontinued before people could get the chance to truly appreciate this scent. If you can get it, definitely don't hesitate if this is what you're looking for

I was attracted to this in the store without having heard of it before, because I liked the bottle and the name. It sounds interesting: a botanical garden in Spain; I remember one of those from my holiday in Valencia, and it was lovely. I can't remember if it smelled anything like this, probably not, but I think I'll conveniently persuade myself that it did and remember it that way from now on, because I do love this scent. I can't discern any notes, because as someone else has already mentioned it is very well mixed, but I get the impression of juicy greenness (??), a garden filled with lush plants and flowers, doused in honey. I know there's no honey in the notes, but that's the most dominant thing it reminds me of. It is very sweet in any case, but in a decidedly non-gourmand way, which is something different for me, and I must say I like it very much. No complaints on longevity or sillage. I have some of my sample left, but I will buy a bottle of this some time in the future. I think it will be great year-round.

This was love at second sniff. The first time I smelled it on a paper test strip, Rosabotanica did not impress me. However, a few months later I was perusing a store’s perfume counter and on a whim I sprayed it on my arm. Wow. The initial spray was all rose, but shortly afterwards the green and then spicier notes began to emerge and after about 4 hours the patchouli came out to play. I couldn’t stop smelling my arm for the next several hours and quickly obtained a sample and eventually a full bottle. On my skin and to my nose this is a spicy rose perfume that makes me feel feminine and upbeat. I would have no problem wearing this with anything from jeans to a little black dress. From reading the reviews, it’s apparent that this is one of those polarizing scents which makes me wonder if there’s a note that many people are anosmic to or perhaps very dependent upon body chemistry? Regardless, I love it, but many don’t so it’s definitely not a safe blind buy.

I only found out about this fragrance when I also heard it has been discontinued, so I rushed to stock up on second hand bottle as soon as I got the opportunity. Although there are more perfumes than what I actually need in my collection, I knew this HAS to be mine from the moment it touched my skin. To my nose, this is not similar to any other and maybe that is why I was so intrigued by it. Definitely not a blind buy (I used a sample before purchasing), this is so original that it could easily pass as a niche one. I find it quite artsy and while wearing it, I like to associate it with a minimalist look. On my skin it is a combination of warm, wet, woody and herbal scent. It smells more like the garden soil where a rose is planted rather than the rose itself. Highly addictive, I can see this as a all seasons wear, but in a warmer weather maybe it is at its peak. Two sprays last 8h + and project like a cloud around me. Love at first sniff!

This perfume is the best I've ever worn. I simply can't get enough of it ! The top notes are sharp : fig leaves and pink pepper - it smells a little bit like honey on me and I think it's downright audacious. My nose itches a little bit. It's like coffee : a strong taste you get used to and you finally get addicted to. A few minutes after, the rose appears. It is not the rose you smell in Chloé, nor the one you smell in Lancôme's Trésor... It's the rose that grows in your garden, the real rose, that you smell with its foliage and its soil. Here, the spicy notes of the beginning take sense : they play the role of thorns. Finally, the only thing that disappoints me with this perfume is that it goes down way too quickly. It sticks really well to the skin, even after the shower in my case (!!) but there is no sillage, nobody else than me can enjoy the amazing experience this perfume is. But since I'm selfish, I'll keep on wearing it ;)

I was not expecting this to remind me of the first days of school during my primary school years. This is really an August morning with the aura of the seasons changing, dewy freshness of walking to the bus stop. The school supplies accord might be what some people are calling hay and hamster cage here and the sour rose really adds in that the seasons are changing. Early morning, in the grass making footprints in the dew. Nostalgiac!! Rosabotanica feels just as a live as Florabotanica but Florabotanica is showing itself at lunch time when the flowers are in full bloom. The air is a bit drier but the floral is still very smooth and bright. Rosabotanica on the other hand is dewy. It's more wet and fresh, cooler, cleaner, and tinged with a natural sour facet from the rose? They're both lovely and these two perfumers had an excellent handle on their vision and they pulled it off!

Loooooove this. Someone here wrote that this is for people who like Hermes Un Jardin series and that is good guidance. This is not quite as layered but same kind of very fresh and interesting scent. On me this is like toothpaste on rose, and the hyacinth is coming through also. I dont see spearmint or mint listed as notes - maybe its the fig that gives this flavour - in any case, I love the result, its unusual and so fresh, perfect hot warm weather scent and I absolutely love the beautiful bottle. Very unusual and interesting scent that just tickles my senses in the best possible way UPDATE: I have just had a chance to wear this on a hot day, and its even better. The mintyness blends in more and it becomes a bit rounder, love it so much, I cannot believe they discontinued this before people had a chance to discover it. Work of genius.

Interesting how people differ in their perceptions. I do not find this clean at all, for me it's a dirty perfume, both in the sense that it is earthy, green and that it also is a bit suggestive...like sweaty skin, but in a good way. I smell rose with a spicy green woody background that smells a bit masculine. I imagine a very confident, no-nonsense woman who's rocking her tousled hair look because earlier she was fooling around with her man and his smell is still lingering a bit. However, it is still very much a rose perfume, so make no mistake this is also very feminine. On my skin, at least, the rose was louder than the fig. I find the opening of this perfume very intoxicating, light and fresh, in a similar style to Florabotanica, but more provocative.

There is a perfume shop near my house and I found this there. The woman said,"Save this one for special occasions" as she sprayed it on my wrist. It was strong and green and dry and I passed on the purchase. I tried several other scents and while none were as interesting as this one I couldn't get past that initial spray. I left, and as the a/c in my car blasted, the green rose bloomed with the spice of the pepper and cardamom, a hint of amber wafted around me, and I could detect the wood and the underlying tang of the citrus. I became utterly captivated. So different from any of my sweet roses, so different from any of my perfumes. This is not an everyday perfume. This one is special. I would love to try Florabotanica - so sad these are discontinued.

I LOVE this fragrance. It's "the one" that I wish I could wear forever....and to think I bought it blind for the bottle only is crazy! The fig leaf gives it such a great opening freshness of greens that makes the lingering rose not overwhelmingly floral, and the pink pepper is so subtle yet makes the fragrance so intriguing. It feels like lying down in a rose garden after the rain...minus the dirt and wetness. It wears for a while, but in this case I don't care too much since it's definitely one that I'm EXCITED to reapply. Not since STELLA Stella McCartney (which is SO different than this) have I wanted to put on a fragrance right after my shower...at night. Before going to bed. My only regret is not getting the bigger bottle.

Absolutely in love with this scent!! It is my absolute favorite, The Crème de la crème, the one for special events! This is a unique, masculine and herby scent, with extremely long lasting notes. Not for the faint of heart. After a couple of hours the smell evolves on my body, making it more spicier, yet still subtle. Couple of times my friends and relatives have smelled it straight from the bottle and were not impressed, in fact were quite disappointed, said it smells like artificial greenery. Yet they have complimented the way i smelled, not knowing I was wearing this one. So the secret is the way it reacts to your body chemistry, plus the heat etc. Absolute crown jewel for the spring/summer!

One of the main reasons I'm addicted to fragrances, is the memories that come along with each note! I always try to associate notes with my memories of different times. I was immediately sold when I sprayed it! I love love love any fragrance that at first spray, begins with a lovely note (not alcohol) and is pleasing to my senses. My first memory that came back to life was that of a time as a child (5th grader) and eating "Lucas" brand lemon/lime beer salt. Lmao...so strange but as it dried down the memory lingered and more came back to me of that era. Great memories and couldn't ask for more. Every time I wear this, I'll think of that memory. Nicely done!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Blind bought this following my love for florabotanica, and must say i am not disappointed! It has similar botanical vibes to florabotanica, but its worth every penny to have them both in your collection. Compare to florabotanica, i would say rosabotanica is like a more wicked and dark sister. This opens with grapefruits but shortly joined by rose, which becomes the main scent - sour grapefruity rose but has some mysterious elements in it. While the sillage is not as good as flora, this is still really nice and totally unisex. Accurately named, just like entering a rosey garden after it has been raining. Highly recommended if you manage to find one.
