Peony & Peppercorn

So when I first sprayed this on I thought "Hair Care Products for women" Shampoo, Conditioner etc.. But after letting it mature for a couple of weeks and trying it, It's really a bit more Nuanced than that. Its absoulutely more faminine leaning, but its still got that fresh cleanliness that allows for us fellas to use it "in moderation", what I mean is, if sprayed too heavily, yes, It definately comes off smelling like "young ladies body mist/spray", but In moderation, after a shower, eg.. this is quite pleasant, clean and a bit more "unisex". I also feel that the performance isn't as terrible as some folks here on fragrantica make it out to be. I get between 5 to 6 hours with moderate projection, where I constantly get whiffs of it. Also, this stuff really stays on clothes much longer. If I apply Peony and Peppercorn to my shirt before bed, I can still noticeably pick it up on me the following morning when I've woken up. I'd argue that out of few I do own in the BR Icon line, while still NOT "beast-mode" or anything, and although its probably my least favorite, Peony and Peppercorn has better performance than the other ones I own from this line with Gardenia & Cardamom coming in second.. Again, this is great after a shower, as a bed time scent and for just lounging around. This is FAR from my favorite from this line with 78 Vintage Green being my fave, and then Gardenia and Cardamom being a very close second. The quality of "the juice" is really amazing with the Banana Republic Icon Line, but yes, It really would be GREAT if some of these fragrances had better performance, but with the quality and beauty of these fragrances, I dont mind re-applying. I give Peony and Peppercorn a 6 outta 10 as its not really my style, yet NOT completely un-doable for me. Very nice Fragrance! Thank you to whomever took the time to read my review.😉

Oh, my God, I haven't left a review in what feels like forever, but I just have to after smelling this! I've been searching for a peony soliflore for almost a year now. I just wanted a perfume reminiscent of the peonies in my grandma's garden: soft, powdery and pink. And boy, I've tried so many perfumes! Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming from Dior smelled like sweet generic roses and nothing more on my skin. Vert Pivoine from Histoires de Parfums smelled sour, the red fruits and ivy strangling the peonies in the composition. Peony & Blush Suede from Jo Malone was nice enough, but still nowhere close to the true peonies of my childhood. I came across Peony & Peppercorn from Banana Republic completely by accident. The reviews seemed promising enough, so I risked it and blind-bought it. My expectations weren't really high though, since I had been burned in the past. And then the bottle came and I finally got to spray it for the first time. The first ten seconds I got overwhelmed by the alcohol, but then... Oh, my, the alcohol disappeared and it was everything I wanted! The scent is exactly what I have been searching for: a peony so pink, so pure, so powdery, that I cannot help but sniff my wrist every few minutes! It smells so much like the real thing, it's unreal. I can't feel the peppery notes or the plum - just the peony, undisturbed, unstrangled by any accompanying notes. Peony & Peppercorn might not be a beast in terms of sillage of longevity, but I really don't mind that: peonies are delicate flowers, I would expect the same from a perfume evoking their demure beauty. Oh, and the price? You really cannot beat that. If you're a peony lover, chances are you'll really enjoy Peony & Peppercorn.

I’m with morenoetrata. This fragrance lasts a very long time on me. Not like beast mode vanilla that can last all day and all night and through the next shower. But if I spray it in the morning, I still smell it after work. It isn’t beast mode projection, but I prefer to only be smelled within 3 feet or arms length. This is very much a peony-rose, but it lacks sweetness and has a very fresh feeling to it because of that. Perfect for a hot day when you’re in the mood for a floral, but want to smell fresh and have it last all day. I love a good citrus freshy too, but the nature of citrus oils, citrus cannot last. I’m female and it feels feminine and beautiful on me, but I think it would smell great on anyone, so definitely unisex if you like rose peony. P.S. it is not spicy, not even as spicy as delina la rose, so great if you like those scents but wanted something without the spice, or even to layer to knock the spice down and fresh floral up.

I am SUUUUPER CONFUSED as to why people are saying this scent doesn't last?! Like Im hand- to heart, honestly getting decent longevity and YES, the sillage is moderate to intimate but totally noticable creating a small scent-bubble that last around 5 to 6 hours . Also, when I'd first gotten my bottle, it smelled like cheap a$$, " kiddie" floral body mist or something, buuuut now that it matured a bit the semi-sweet Pink Peppercorn has become more prominent and this scent is now quie beautiful. Its a VERY fresh, clean, breezy floral along with the now noticable Peppercorn, BEAUTIFUL! Idk if just I got a good bottle or something?? Idk, but as a guy, although this does lean quite feminine, its so fresh and clean that I (now) enjoy wearing it to bed or just around the house after a shower. Point is give this a chance and let it mature a couple months😉

This is nice. At first it smells like a blast of peppercorns, then it turns into a softer peony and rose scent. First spray reminded me of Emporio Armani Diamond Rose which is heavy with peppercorns and just more dry but as BR Peony and Peppercorn starts to dry down it turns into a fresh cut rose/peony combo almost reminiscent of MFK A La Rose perfume but not as strong. It is a nice soft scent. I can see a man wearing it on a nice summer day. I got it inexpensively and I like it. Great buy. Doesn't last long on me but scents like these usually do not last long on my dry skin anyway. Unless it has vanilla and tobacco, not much lasts on me.
