Barbour for Him

I have hundreds of fragrances, this reminded me of one in my collection from first sniff. Took me a little minute to figure out what, but once I did, it's Spicebomb. Can't believe a former reviewer said this is nothing like Spicebomb. Um, yes, it is! It's almost identical!!! I'll give this one a love, because I love the Spicebomb line. To anyone who hasn't smelled the Spicebomb DNA before, the clue is in the name. It's a bomb of spices. Very peppery opening. Spicebomb then leans into some vanilla, but I suspect this one will turn woody. But in the opening, the fragrances are extremely identical.

I have a friend who wears Spicebomb and I have a friend who wears Babour for him. They are definitely NOT the same but I love them both. This is a very classy and nice scent for fall and winter.

Spicy, woody, and cozy. Barbour For Him EDP is a smooth cardomom and cedar, with a sweet edge. 🟢🪵 This scent has grown on me. It's spicy, its woody, and its smooth, but it has this sweet edge to it that balances everything out nicely. What starts quite bright, mellows down to a warm and cozy profile dominated by cardamom and cedar wood reminiscent of an old chest of drawers, a wooden table, or freshly sharpened expensive pencils. Barbour once again absolutely nailed the British country vibe, and without the sometimes headache inducing syrupy sweetness of the 2016 EDT. It reminds me of going on pathed country walks, strolling through the park, enjoying a pint and dinner at the pub, and being cozy at home in the countryside during the colder months. This is a great all-day mens fragrance for autumn and winter, especially in the UK. When the weather is cooler, its an easy reach that you can't really go wrong with. The performance is decent, lasting a few hours on skin and it has a warm and moderate projection to it that feels smooth and present, rather than being a loud winter bomb. From my experience so far, Barbour do a fantastic job of carrying over the British countryside DNA of their fashion, into their scents. This isn't the sort of fragrance that has blown me away or something I can see me dying to keep going back to, but it does its job really well and its a solid option. 8/10 ❤️

Trying to avoid the elephant in the room - it's a pleasant, well-blended, spicy and woody fragrance that performs quite well and offers good value for money. I'm currently knee-deep in a heatwave but I imagine this would be excellent in colder weather. The elephant - as other reviewers have mentioned it's quite similar to Spicebomb, especially in the opening with that blend of grapefruit, bergamot, and spices. However Barbour takes this DNA in a softer and woodier direction, compared to the tobacco and leather of Spicebomb. It's cosier and more subdued in character. Overall I like it and while I don't know if it offers enough to justify owning both fragrances, as someone who currently owns neither I'd seriously consider picking up a full-size bottle of Barbour. At the very least it's worth trying a sample of.

Bought this today, its good. Not great not bad just in the middle. Pricing is average given the state of the planet right now! Maybe could drop it slightly. It’s a lovely smell initially with a good degree of spice and pepper coming through and the wood notes also. The citrus drys down very quickly, Bizarrely they re-emerge after a couple of minutes (I hope someone else notices this). Good idea already executed by V&R with Spicebomb albeit with no Sweet dry down around the 4-5 hour mark. The dry down is pure oud and wood. No points for originality however a few oversprays can easily keep this projecting a bit longer. Could probably get away with this all year round with formal occasions and date nights being the best use of it. Just my nose no doubt others opinions will vary! Look forward to this next review of this!
