Cherub

I have 250 perfumes in my collection, and this is one of very very few that took my breath away when I first put my nose to it. Incredible fragrance. This is everything I wanted Frisson DʼHiver by Serviette to be. All I can say is that this is the most angelic, tart and lightly sugared snowflake of a fragrance I have ever smelled. Remarkable work, Bree. Can’t wait for my 30ml to arrive xx

Wearing this to bed tonight. There’s no warmth here but rather a cooling splash of rose water that is followed by a soft powdery cloud that feels like being wrapped in my grandmas fragrant shawl. The pretty soft florals and fresh rhubarb makes this a beautiful cottage witch scent for me.

based on the description i didn’t think i would like this but i was pleasantly surprised! it starts very tart/sour/bitter from the rhubarb and as it dries down that’s what projects the most, but closer to the skin it’s a very sweet baby powdery scent (non-derogatory). from the barre discovery set i’ve enjoyed the inventiveness of all the frags i’ve tested so far but this is the first i could see myself grabbing the full bottle. it’s like a two for one where the world gets one scent and the person who presses their face close to you gets a secret second one. def not for everyone and i thought it wouldn’t be for me but it is so dainty and beautiful!

This was somewhat powdery for me and very floral. It’s like a grandma who reads tea leaves wearing her avid perfume. The rhubarb adds a citrusy note. A bit like sitting on the patio in the spring with a rhubarb crisp on the windowsill to cool.

Very floral and powdery, this fragrance comes on strong and lasts quite a while on skin, even lingering after washing with soap and water. Something about the florals strikes me as synthetic—there’s almost a staticky, plastic undertone that acts like a barrier to the other supporting notes. I’m unable to detect any ginger, but the rose water is present and pretty. Rhubarb and hay come through in the dry down, adding a touch of green grassiness, but for a lot of its wear time, this fragrance is very tulip-forward with iris competing for attention. Honestly I was really put off by this fragrance when I sampled it earlier this year, but I think it wears nicer in cooler weather. I still find the fragrance too powdery for my tastes, but I appreciate it much more after dry down. It becomes softer, fuzzier—like bloom on knitwear. In the end, Cherub makes me think of cut flowers in a grandmother’s cottage, arranged in a crystal vase set on a doily-covered side table in a slightly dusty spare room, insistently painting the air with a pastel pink perfume.

I really wanted to like this but it just doesn't work for me at all, I think it's the rhubarb. I usually like rhubarb scents but the way this one mixes with the iris just smells kind of like fermenting fruit and is too sweet. I'll give it another try in a couple months to see if anything develops.

I got a sample of this in a discovery pack, and I really wanted to like it because of the listed notes of ginger, rhubarb, and toasted hay. Unfortunately, while those notes are there, they are almost totally masked by the florals and something that almost smells like rotting papaya on my skin. It projects and lasts, but I can't get past the rotting fruit smell.

On me it smells Lemony. I don't smell any of these flowers. Very safe clean scent.
