Smoulder

Wearing smoulder is the embodiment of the first fire in Autumn, awakening the wood-stove with a scent that only the most special log still sticky with sap, lichens, moss, and lungwort clinging to bark can provide. My wool sweater is adorned with new bits and pieces of the forest, and a bed of embers overnight like a nightlight to your dream-state. This smell makes me excited for the abundance and harvest of Fall. It’s not just a dark smokey blend, but bright and airy, bringing with it, the freshness of the brisk sky that paints a rich backdrop of wet and dry.

I've been searching for a fragrance that captures the smoke of a fire without the intense 'BBQ' aspect, and from trying dozens and dozens of perfumes with this profile this is the only one I found that has that photorealistic bonfire build without that savoriness of a barbeque. It's THE perfect smokey, sexy, ember perfume. I sampled this a while back and couldn't stop thinking about it and finally ordered a 30ml of this beaut as well as Overcast. Bree is one of the best perfumers out there, no question about it.

Really really gorgeous scent, both straight from the bottle and on my skin. The notes here don't do it justice imo-- I get a lot of incense and some fresh wood foliage. Unfortunately it almost disappeared completely in the drydown, so much that I struggle to smell anything almost 2.5 hours later.

On card, this fragrance smells like a candle wick that's just been blown out. Smokey, burnt, waxy. I didn't pick up much else- and I don't like the smell of freshly blown candle. *However*, when sprayed on skin this fragrance developed much further. I could smell pine needles, cedar, and woodsy notes wafting, even some dirt. The smokiness was complimentary for sure. I would describe this scent as forest floor, campfire, and outdoorsy without being green dominant. I would also say this fragrance might be a bit lackluster and non complex for a full bottle. But it is extraordinary as a layering option. Pair this with something spicy and even sweet, and you'll keep smelling yourself. I'd buy the full size just to enhance some of my other fragrances in my collection.

Wow, yup. That smells like the day after a bonfire when you put your hoodie back on and you're like, oh, nice, becuase you still smell like smoke. My partner said I smelled like bbq. that's not the worst, tbh. Keeping this one, I really like it.

Literally just smells like a just-burnt match but I weirdly love it despite it being kind of one note. Layered with a sweet woody scent it’s absolutely lovely for late-fall and winter.

Arcane, sacred, primal. White smoke blowing from the Vatican. Bonfire on Saturday, church on Sunday morning. A coven dancing naked by the fire under a full moon. A priest walking down the aisle with the incense. An old castle with wood fire in the hearth. This really is an experiential and atmospheric scent that transports you elsewhere, it smells like rituals and prayers and things older than us all, things you carry deep in your bones.
