Witch

i’m surprised by how much i like this. when i first got the sample set i sprayed them all once and this one immediately scared me off, it was very strong and i wasn’t sure about it so i’ve saved it for my last day. but now that it’s actually on my skin i really enjoy it. the scent is really strong to start but dries down super fast into a very warm incense, i don’t get much candy apple but i do think without it it may be too smoky. it reminds me of a campfire late at night down by a lake. a perfect unisex one of my favourite barre scents. i disagree with the comparisons to walking into a lush store as i find this more mature, green, and less offensive then a lot of lush products. i paired it with a vanilla deodorant and i just feel soo cozy!

this is the full size i chose after getting the barre sample pack, and it's also the first full size perfume i've purchased as an adult. i absolutely love this scent and it's become my daily scent for fall and winter. i love how sweet it is but in a way that is light, herbal, and intriguing. i definitely get the candy apple mixed with a medicinal/herbal quality that i find really addictive. the green notes come through too. reminds me of a sunny october day, a walk in the forest, knowing the best of the halloween season awaits you come nightfall!!!! herbal, mysterious, sweet, playful. it works perfect for me as a halloween and autumn lover and definitely makes me feel witchy in the best way.

I REALLY wanted to like this scent and I really do. At first spritz it was spicy and then after that I got the absinthe-ey wormwood. Maybe it's a psychosomatic thing, but the scent reminds me of the occult bookstore I worked at in my twenties. My partner was glad this one didn't assault him the way outlaw did, he had to get pretty close to smell it. He also said it smells perfumey but not in an unpleasant way, when I asked him to describe it in his words. And yeah, it does have kind of a classic perfume smell. Definitely warm and spicy and feels like I've been burning incense in the dark.

i feel like there’s a strong licorice/star anise note in the opening, mixed with smokey incense, which is likely the wormwood coming through. it’s very warm and mysterious. my partner noticed it as soon as he walked in the room and was like “omg i was wondering what that amazing smell was” when he realized it was this perfume. really enjoying this one, it lingers for a long time on the skin.

I received a free sample of this with the full bottle of Cult. I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do--the floral candy apple scent that opens this perfume put me off at first. Over time, this developed into an herbal, green wood scent on my skin. It smells a bit like a young forest, fresh and slightly sweet, with an earthy base (the frankincense, maybe?). I can see this being a great choice for summer and early fall.

Like a candied jasmine perfume. So cool and unique- riffs on olene by dyptique which is one of my favorites. It’s super grandma-nostalgic vibe is like Olene’s older more fun sister who has little orange and strawberrie candies in her bag.

Sweetly spiced neutral leaning masculine scent. Its like a leather coat left in an attic, with sachets of herb in the pockets and aftershave pressed permanently into the lapel. Its dusty, ominous, deeply warm and sexy to me. Its clean spiced and lovely.

you must love frankincense i repeat YOU MUSt LOVE FRANKINCENSE, dynamic scent slightly reminiscent of the lush store alike to dolly by barre, didn’t get much candy apple but if i smelled this on a masculine person i would probably swoon

Slightly disappointed because I was getting Baba Yaga/The VVitch vibes, but in actuality it was more like a Halloween witch who steals from the candy aisle at Dollarama. Perfect scent to wear on Halloween tho. 🎃🎃🎃

Sadly just not for me. My quest for the perfect witchy scent had me get this and its certainly a wart on the nose. It doesn't have anything unexpected or unusual going on, to me it smells like a spicier, sweeter and slightly younger sister of Lotion Pompeia... meaning this fragrance smells about 110 years old. Based on Hexensalbe predating this by a year could explain the random liqouirce note popped in there for whatever reason, but I was simply dissapointed by this one. I cant even think what to layer it with as for me theres not really any part of it I want to add too or accentuate with another scent.

i am so sad to say that i unfortunately do not like this. i got this in a little discovery set, and i love the rest, but unfortunately this was not for me. if you love forest scents, and the colour green, you may really like this. its dark, its leafy, it opens very bright and then dries into something slightly resinous, with a faint candied apple note behind all the foresty green. not a bad scent, just not for me.

Sweet, candy apple forward, herbal dry hay notes. It is totally a silly cartoon Halloween witch, which is fun and good. Makes me think of trick or treating and old fashioned paper Halloween decorations. I think it's really cute and I really love that it goes this direction!

I received a sample of this in a discovery pack from Barre. I can only describe the scent as walking into a Lush store - pleasant but strong and a little discordant. It's not bad, just not something I would reach for.

This is a lovely scent. I get sweetness from the candy apple, herbal notes, powdery florals and something deeper from the frankincense. I spray this on my décolletage at night and it’s still there in the morning.

I loved nearly all the other samples in my discovery set but Witch smells EXACTLY like Carmex to me. Very assaulting right out the gate. Not a bad smell but definitely for a very specific person.

It smells exactly like Halloween, pine needles, woods and sweet licorice at the end. It's fun and I'm here for it. I might combine it with Immortal Writers Baby Vamp.

this one is too masculine for me, but the scent feels very luxury, kind of like i just spent a night in a hot and fancy chalet room in the Swiss Alps.
