Dama Koupa

This perfume is wonderful... It is like a more intense, dense, concentrated and with better quality of Dior homme. It has the powdery vibe of iris, like a Lipstick or makeup smell, like we find in Dior, Valentino uomo ir gentleman by givenchy, but more alcoholic and elegant. I could say that It smells a bit like carrots too. The performance and the quality of the ingredients is the typical of baruti. I have tried 5 different perfume by them and they have never dissapointed me. It lasts almost the whole day on skin with a moderate but continuous trail. I find the smell unisex and very versatile bacause ar the same time is much more subtle than Dior homme, therefore It can be worn every time and under no matter which weather. OK...After sampling it for a month, I can say that Dama Koupa is a heady strong composition, that doesn't leave your skin, clothes, and environment for days. it's so intense, that I can even remember the smell without wearing it for a month. Too much to my taste, a gourmand bombastic version of Silver Iris by Atelier Cologne. Dama Koupa is very distinct from the Dior Homme line of fragrances, don't expect something similar at all! There's something boozy going on, overall it's a very original fragrance, if you're looking for the ultimate lipstick experience, don't look any further.

I honestly don't understand how anybody can dislike this masterpiece. I would say out of the whole line its actually the most easily understood fragrance along with chai? It's iris! a really fresh, original iris! A gorgeous modern take on iris with gourmand undertones. Vintage lipstick powderiness unfolds beautifully on my skin (especially in cool weather) and underneath you get the macaroons and the grappa. Beeswax lends it a nice waxy texture that adds to the comfort. I also love applying this before bed but happily wear it to the office - its so yummy and addictive.

Great iris centric scent. Iris is prevalent throughout the 12+ hours of longevity; begins very iris and sweet, but as it dries down you get more of the wood and it gets a good balance. It's really just a nice, very unisex scent with massive longevity and strong projection as well. It's a great fragrance for spring, and probably for fall and even winter thanks to those woody notes. One of my favorite Baruti scents

Opens like a sweet powdery macaron in a room with freshly painted walls Macaron is cherry flavoured and soon starts overpowering every other note around it It remains powdery from the iris though When it dries it becomes fruity woody with hints of aromatic pine

This is a thick and voluptous masterpiece. Starts quite spicy and dark. Iris and chocolate are prominent. Gradually the spiciness subsides giving way to a sweeter and narcotic ambery finale. Longevity is excellent with moderate projection.

A generous duo of buttery orris and musk greets me right from the start; exactly the kind of opening I know I’m going to love. There’s also a subtle smoky/incense-tinged edge, plus a balm-like resinous undertone. I even get an animalic hint of beeswax, which is fantastic. It’s been compared to Iris Cendré and Armonia; and yes, there’s a faint family resemblance; but it lacks what I describe in those as a “biscuity leather” effect. Instead, this leans more into a balsamic, woody dimension. I was honestly surprised to see a “macaron” note listed; to my nose, this can even read colder than its supposed peers. The orris here truly satisfies me: balanced, high-quality, and it manages to be both the queen of the composition and its structural support at the same time. “The Queen of Hearts” you’ve won me over. Edit: While this scent feels amazing on skin, on hair and clothes it turns almost damp and musty, so I changed my rating from love to like. And I’m not getting the sweetness people talk about at all. When I first sprayed it on a paper, I got two strong evocative images--French boulangerie and dry white wood. More than the macaron note listed, I get this specific smell of the warm air coming out French bread shops. It is original and pleasant, the opening notes remains almost identical during the dry down which is interesting. Edit: It became one of my favorite perfume EVER. I got a bottle for my birthday and this perfume gives me chills. Same thing about the warm air coming out the boulangerie vent connected to the lab. A mix of sourdough and warm buttery croissants... Pure nostalgia...

I like this. As it mentions, a "Unique Olfactory Experience ". Elegant. A nice blend of florals with a hint of sweetness. Not something I wear and unfortunately my wife's comments were "Nature, straight Nature". She equates it to a walk outside. Great in it's own right. Just not something she sees herself wearing. So as I end the discovery set experience, I go out on a good note. One that it seems I will enjoy only briefly for now and maybe on a tester later until the sample runs out.

It opens with a peppery note and serious chocolate vibe then gets fruity with a honeyed date dried fruit sweetness and a little floral then you get a little animalic barnyard oudy/musk gland smell mixed with leather; the drydown is complete animalic, barnyard skin scent oud; scent lasted on my skin more than 16 hours; in the almost final drydown it was very amber then it mutated into a sharper iris that was almost aldehydic

Wow, this fragrance is beautiful! Very intense in the opening but just so warm and sensual! This fragrance makes me feel so powerful and confident and my boyfriend also really loves it on me. The iris is the strongest thing for me, and maybe I can sort of get the beeswax. But macarons? I don’t really know. I’ll need to keep testing it. Mostly it’s just a very nice powdery scent. Probably my favorite out of the sample set!

The beginning was quite enjoyable and pleasant and I must say I really like it. However, in the mid - drydown part, it got a little screechy, metallic and bitter which kinda ruined it a little... I might need to return this ANOTHER time, I feel, but for now, I must say it did ruin it somewhat...

Opens with paper smell. You smell like dry paper (like one of Neanderthals) then drifts toward osmanthus with dry woods and musk. After half of an hour it gets Haltane base.

Dama Koupa ("Queen of Hearts") starts off as a pale powder-puff iris with a dry silvery quality. Then I get the "macaron" -- yep, that's a distinctly eggy sweetness, also weirdly reminiscent of fresh paint or potpourri. Furniture store vibes. The potpourri scent is woody and almost sweet-spicy, with that sweet-merengue "macaron" overlay. Definitely a novel combination. Dama Koupa settles into a balanced blend of powdery iris, fluffy macaron (probably actually heliotrope) and that woody potpourri note. It's lightly sweetened, and a notch warmer and darker than your typical fluffy lipstick-and-powder iris. The color spectrum ranges from champagne blush to copper-brown. Not exactly my thing (I'm not usually a frou-frou iris person) but I can feel a real personality shining through, with warmth, dignity, and, yes, heart. Luca Turin compares it to the iris-heliotrope chord in L'Heure Bleue, which makes sense, but I might also relate it to other rich/dark irises like Anatole Lebreton Armonia or Chanel Misia (which use buttery-soft leather to deepen the iris, while Dama Koupa uses resinous woods).

Waxy, melted crayon, generous touch of hot pepper and powdery iris. There is a sweetness to it; probably the osmanthus although I personally don't recognize it as such. I might be crazy but somehow this smells like a spicy gaspacho on my skin. Not bad but I don't envision myself wearing this on a daily basis.

This is definitely a very polarising scent and definitely not for blind buying. When I looked at the pyramid it all sounded pretty agreeable and I decided to buy some samples. The first spray shocked me, it was an overwhelming cacophony of everything thrown in at once and on my skin it smelt repulsive, I had to wash it off after about 20 minutes of talking myself into giving it a chance. I cannot compare it to any Iris fragrance I had before, maybe I am used to another tradition like the story telling of Iris Silver Mist by Serge Lutens or l’Attesa by Masque Milano. Dama Koupa is from another world. I could not feel any nuances because there was too much of everything, it left no room for guessing. Bottom line: try before you buy, it is one of those that you either love or hate.

Not for me, and not a safe blind buy. Put Luca's review aside because everyone responds to this differently, it seems 50/50 whether you'll get a rich tapestry of scents or (like me) a cacophony which is too heavy on the white musk. Nothing in here seems related to the next thing, that could be my nose, so don't take anyone's word for this scent. Personally I'll try it again in winter, because for sure, the warm weather isn't helping. So the jury is out... x

Glue for wallpaper, that smells. Yes, bitter herbal liqueur and honey, old paper... If I have to be positive, but.. The estimators of this mess smell may love also armpit floured with talc. If I dare to imagine an old wooden house with a dead found inside after years, I would give this Baruti odour. A total botteled ugliness .

Weird.. all I get is a spicy green pepper smell! Wants to give me acid reflux just by smelling it. No sweet macaroon or Iris on my skin. What in the world is everyone else smelling.. because this is green peppers soaked in jalapeño oil! Sample first!

This way too much of a clash for me. Putting iris, powder overly spice wood. It hit me on first spray. It’s very powerful. Def not a blind buy. A confused blend on me.

I've tried this a few times. Poor Iris is buried beneath a thick layer of what I can only describe as bacon fat. Yes, that's what it smells like to me!

This had been on my "to try" list for quite a while and based on the note breakdown I thought it would be one I'd really enjoy. This was terrible. This opened up with a dry, woody iris, then I got something sweet (didn't come across as macaroons), and finally, I got a weird spicy, green bell pepper note that took over the fragrance. I see some others mentioning pepper, and I got that for sure, in the worst way. If you like this fragrance, the good news is it lasts forever on clothes.

I ordered the Baruti sampler, and I see now why most of their fragrances are so polarizing. They all just have A LOT going on, in terms of notes represented, but also just the different textures and scent memories that those notes evoke. The potential for these amalgams to develop into a cohesive fragrance never quite materializes. Dama Khoupa is pleasant to me at first, oh so slightly sweet, with that lovely vintage lipstick vibe just edging around the opening. I think all of the woodsy notes across the whole line are just so strong and sharp that they drown out a lot of nuance, though, sadly. It's like you're inside a cedar closet or, even worse, a coffin. I caught the beeswax for a second, and it was cool and gentle, but the woods just beat it senseless. I had a similar experience with Indigo. The burning incense of Catholic church came right back to me with that one, an odor I have long been seeking to forget. I've been trying to evolve my perfume tastes, as I often stick to simple florals, or musky/ vanilla scents, and their sillage and lasting power often disappoints. This is just too far in the opposite direction for me, though. I love a woodsy base when its warm and soothing. I just can't get into the Grandpa's pipe/firewood vibe. Once again, I find that sometimes beloved/popular fragrances are just overbearing beasts to me.

این عطر من رو میبره به یک فروشگاه که داخل قفسه هاش پر هست از بطری های آبجو و ماءالشعیر. شروعش همون حس بو کردن داخل بطری ماءالشعیر رو به آدم میده، حتی اون حالت گازدار رو هم داره، با گذشت زمان حالت گازدارش کم میشه و یه بویی شبیه نون فانتزی که وجه اشتراک هم با آبجو و ماءالشعیر داره ازش باقی می مونه یه عطر نیش تمام معناست؛ نه مثل عطرهایی که فقط ادعای ارائه رایحه ای خاص دارن و با کلی تبلیغ میخوان مردم متقاعد کنن که آره این فلان بو را میده اما در عمل کلاهبرداری بیشتر نیستن که برای فروش بیشتر این ترفندها رو به کار می گیرن توصیف این عطر با واژه هایی مثل چوبی و فلورال و غیره بی معنیه، چون عطرساز در خلق "داما کوپا" یک درصد هم از رایحه ای که قصد بازسازی‌اش رو داشته فاصله نگرفته

It's funny but I really do smell macarons in the opening of Dama Koupa, this crispy, delicate creamy, sweetness. It lasts a couple of minutes and then the powdery lipstick iris takes over and from then on it's an iris fragrance 101, nothing too amusing or surprising. It's subtle, slightly pencil shavings-like..all that jazz. The creamy sweetness is blended nicely and warms up the fragrance, it blends seamlessly with the iris. It's certainly one of the most wearable fragrances from Baruti (for my taste anyways) but I still prefer Daim Blond Serge Lutens or Violet Blonde Tom Ford over Dama Koupa- they just have a little bit more (or a lot more) edge and sex appeal.

This fragrance is extremely addictive. It's the sweet sister of "L'attesa" by masque as it has that floral sweetened factor added to the enormous iris but the iris in here is much weaker than the one in L'attesa, softer and more delicate, but it is THE Right dose as it mingles quite well with the rest of the crew specially the sweetened macaroons & the osmanthus beside the slight amber. So far I can't sense the musk but I can sense the woody notes as it is kept to minimal. This one & "Chai" are the ones that stood for the whole line.

A blast of mega dry iris at first, then you start getting whiffs of cocoa bitters, coffee and milk chocolate as well as bourbon and a damp, soily patchouli. My first thought was thinking this was going to be one dimensional but it's such a gorgeous composition of distincly regonizable notes that still manages to feel just barely that, keeping it interesting while being tremendously satisfying.

An aromatic gourmand. Imagine aliens came to earth and were asked to make macarons. Not fully understanding what we humans eat, but knowing that most of it grows from the ground, they make balsam fir the main ingredient and throw in some iris and osmanthus too. You take the macaron, and it's strange but somehow pleasant and actually fairly addictive.

Light vanilla that the perfumer insists on a macaron, earthy iris with violet leaf, and somewhat honey and osmanthus vibe. also, there is a peppery nuance I feel from Piment Brulant of L'artisan Parfumeur.

well,I don't understand the whole line.This and Chai are full of sadness,the sadness of dead things.I don't detect any iris,any musk,I detect only a wrong experiment .Next,please.

Something that reminds me of my grandmas clothet: wax lipstick and old iris-smelling stuff. Not for me.
