This was the first perfume sample I ever bought because the reviews of it were SO insane and I just had to find out for myself. Goodness though, I absolutely love this. It starts off smelling like rum and wood and *strongly* of fur, in a pleasant way that reminds me of how lodges filled with taxidermy smell or a nature center's pelt touch bin for kids. To me it's a very nostalgic and cozy smell! My dad in particular really likes it and picked up floral notes, but anyone I've shown has commented on how lovely it is. On me it mellows down much more into a musky warm spicy sage, the alcoholic rum notes disappear but it smells softly masculine like you're sniffing the flannels and taxidermy in a bass pro shop lol. I do like that though and in particular have found it to really mesh well with being used in hair rather than on skin! It makes the fur notes stand out in a nicer way. Be warned to shower before bed though because goodness it'll stick right to your sheets.

Musky aromatic opening that reminds me just for a moment of nivea cream Then the musk starts getting a bit animalic, metallic and spicy Overall it's very clean, airy, aldehydic When it completely dries it sweetens up a bit from amber and vanilla in the base

Reminds me of vintage animal furs in a hot old car out in the country. Almost makes me want to bite my arm every time I smell it.

I have been working through the discovery set and it has been fun. Are they all wearable? Sure, if you want to start conversations or get some looks. 😁 This one was a fun wear. Enjoying a morning coffee outside with my wife. I was playing a fun game which she gets annoyed by. Fragrance roulette. She prefers i stick with the ones more pleasing to her of course but indulges my playtime. During coffee she abruptly stopped my conversation and captured this perfectly. Giving a deer a bath or soapy deer. She said there were times where she could catch a whiff of soapiness and other times animalic and couldn't understand what was happening. She had no idea about the sample set or it's contents. Fun times. Great name unless you want to change it to Soapy Deer. I gladly wore it out and about. Not sure if I had any looks but no comments. I did enjoy the experience.

This is a fun musk. As the name suggests, it’s animalic; but the animalic facet stays fairly light (or maybe it just feels light to me, given what I’m used to). It’s fresh, aldehydic, and distinctly musky. The level of freshness surprised me. And a faint barnyardy nuance is present. Even with musk up front, the animal notes read more like warm fur than outright funk; though there are dirty, slightly urinous traces. Overall, it brings to mind nostalgic, old-school musks. The way it’s paired with aldehydes; creating tension, a sense of contradiction, and a small "what is this?" curiosity; adds to that exploratory feel. Compared to the other scents in the set, it isn’t particularly unique, but it’s pleasant. Tag(s): light animalic, fresh musk, aldehydic, warm fur, dirty-clean contrast, nostalgic musk

Opens up with a lovely fruity peppercorn note and bright, fresh, and clean aldehydes. The animalic note transforms from slightly indolic to dense fur. There is a healthy dose of vanilla, powdery amber, minerallic notes, and dry incense in the backdrop. Reminds me of an eccentric aging Old Hollywood starlet wearing a vintage mink coat doused in perfume and her hands are covered in gold rings. Beautiful, loud, and a unique twist to what would be considered an old world classic, but is more of an experience for me rather than something wearable for me. Extremely long lasting and what people would classify as a “beast mode” fragrance. Even after scrubbing my arm I could still smell it radiating off my arm.

Oh My Deer! is a furry animalic musk scent, but it also goes on with a cooling, almost medicinal conifer forest scent and the hot-cold note of Sichuan pepper. This deer is in a dreamy, misty, chilly morning forest. I find the effect cold to the point of being a bit unfriendly. It’s as much an herbal/forest scent as a musk scent, without the warm touches that can make musks feel glamorous in a fur-coat-and-diamonds way.

Pepper with Lily-of-the-Valley and something sweet drying into animalic musk with amber. A nice one. But too flat making difficult to assign character and hard to remember.

Oh my deer? Oh my god, no. This is vile. I've been searching for a gasoline kind of fragrance and this was part of the bunch that were recommended to me. This is definitely not that. Makes me think of a horrible flight I took on a budget airline where everyone reeked and was covering it up with cheap perfumes. Truly nauseating. This is wrong in so many ways, and not because it is animalic. It smells like a dentist's office, alcohol rub, but it's somehow mildew-y. This is so artificial it genuinely makes me sick. On a paper strip it is so pungent and medical, almost herbal and oud. It smelled bad even then, but on skin it just turns so sour. It almost has a faint glimmer of something interesting until it turns into an artificial "new car air freshener smell", spoiled cheese, all with a cheap perfume base that smells like being in a crowded sardine-can bus but everyone is wearing the cheapest perfumes they could find from Burlington's and none of it meshes together well. There's absolutely no sense of artistry here. I haven't smelled something this bad since Flowerbomb. Cheap cheap cheap!

Out of every fragrance I have ever smelled, this is the only one that gave me a visceral, disgusted reaction. it is animalic, cold, aldehydic and metallic, but none of these mesh well for me, and each is expressed in their worst way (for me personally). I spoke to the lady at the shop who first showed me this and she noted that shared in my surprise when she first smelled it because the rest of the baruti line is INCREDIBLY wearable compared to this. The artistry is there, the skill is there, but this is just not my cup of tea whatsoever.

Deer hit by a car in a pine forest... I can smell fur getting soaked in blood, car veering of the road screams of pain. It's gives me a visceral horror reaction and I am really surprised. It is also very strong, it won't wash off. I am nearly close to tears / puking with this :D And then I have to sniff it and feel the horror again. I can tell it is a high quality perfume. But total torture.

You have to really like animalistic frags to stomach this. It’s heavy and dark to my nose. On skin it settled down to a faint pickle smell. I can see a mature gentleman wearing this. Not my jam!

Oh My Deer struck me immediately because, one, I’d never smelled anything from these guys, and, two, this really does not smell like anything in my collection. This is one of those fragrances that immediately conjures an image in my mind: one of my late father’s Heavy Metal magazines from the 1980s featuring a metallic beauty on the cover, all gleaming chrome and curves, stark lines, and a strange, throbbing sense of mystery. Hajime Sorayama's art for Heavy Metal magazine perfectly captured his signature style of future-noir and sci-fi eroticism for the machine age, and it certainly captured my attention when I first saw it at the tender age of 11. I don't typically dissect fragrances through the lens of sexiness and sex appeal because, frankly, it feels inelegant and reductive (and okay it makes me wildly uncomfortable.) But in this instance, it feels strangely fitting. Oh My Deer is a scent of bitter, aldehydic metallic musks, perversely both mineralic and animalic, and the olfactive dissonance of peppers that are warming and resinous but also act as a cooling, electric current. It’s a scent that also feels gritty and grungy, somehow, which brings it all back to a very personal place for me. Gritty and grungy is exactly how I felt when I first flipped through that back catalog of Heavy Metal magazines; they terrified and exhilarated me in equal measure, and those dark, techno-apocalyptic narratives may have been the catalyst for the first bit of... stirrings... in my weird little bod. Hey, we’ve all got our origin stories. Oh My Deer triggers a fascinating internal dialogue, pulling me back to those thrillingly strange magazines. It's probably not what most would consider sexy, and for me personally, it isn't either. But it's undeniably weird, a quality I find endlessly intriguing. More importantly, it's a scent I genuinely enjoy wearing.

Imagine a world where the war is over because there is no one left to fight it. The last man has long since fallen; silence is the new language. And in this landscape of ruins and corroded iron, something is moving. Something that should not be here. A deer. But not just any deer. Oh My Deer! made by Spyros Drosopoulos is the smell of an animal running through the remains of humanity. A deer moving forward in slow motion with gleaming metal armor under a sun that no longer warms. The metallic notes are the memory of civilization, the rusty dust of what has been. There is a whiff of blood, of cracked bones, of a battlefield forgotten by God and man. Oh My Deer! is a b r o k e n breath. It is a dystopian vision in which nature has won and you are only a shadow in this story, a useless witness. ig: @pietroparodi

It starts off very peppery, then quickly shifts into super intense aldehydes which, for my nose, are a bit too aggressive, combined with metallic notes that add a cold, piercing sensation. Later on as it develops, synthetic animalic notes blend in together with the sweetness of vanilla and amber at the base. The dosage is off-putting, to say the least.. It's a fragrance that left me perplexed, a bit lost for almost its entire duration. I know the goal was to recreate the smell of animal musk, but i picked up on everything except that

  • em inglês

This opinion (not a review) applies to both OhMyDeer! and MuscAmbreGrisAffinessence, as they are essentially just an overdose of the same synthetic molecule. Any supporting notes, materials, or elements in each are completely overshadowed by the overwhelming, sharp, screeching, and long-lasting chemical scent. While I wasn’t expecting authentic musk or ambergris—nor even trace amounts—the striking similarity between the two is unwelcome. I'm not a fan of either creation. You can call me uneducated, untrained, inexperienced...

Such a strange composition, as no criticism to the perfumer, I really wonder why this perfume was made. The opening is rancid, just totally unwearable, the worst parts of animalics and metal and aldehydes all at once. As it dries, it becomes more wearable, but is not particularly interesting - a light animalic freshie - like a worse Fleuve Tendre.

  • em inglês

Sticks to the skin and doesn't wash off so easily. The pepper/aldehydic metal vibe blends really well with the animalics and reads to my nose as slightly fruity. This thing has longevity and projection to spare with a very pleasant scent that I find to be non-offensive. All year rounder for any time of day. Signature scent worthy and recommended.

That metallic note is coming across as almost a fresh green note, like pine. I was hoping for more warmth but it’s pretty austere. Id say unisex but leans more masculine. Would smell really good on a man and it’d be something different from the usual barber shop or sweet scents.

Heavy dose of cardamom, slightly metallic musk accord, ambergris mineral saltiness, bitter almond, white florals. Warm, well-rounded with a slight bitter, metallic edge. Highly enjoyable spicy musk fragrance.

I can't remember how this smells, I just know it was SO animalic I threw the blotter away instantly.
