I got this in the discovery set and BY FAR my favourite one. It's simple yet beautiful. At first just get some citrus (not necessarily tangerine) with a punch of gunpowder/firework. It doesn't smell like smoke at all, it just smells exactly like a warm and vanillary gunpowder with a hint of citrus at the top. Throughout the day the gunpowder obviously settles down and it becomes a great pure vanilla, I get a whiff of it every now and then and my god I love it. I strangely believe this would work in spring, but probably just for those colder spring days. Definitely full bottle worthy

just spraying it on a test strip, this is the smokiest vanilla i have ever smelt. the vanilla is thick and creamy, and the tangerine sits just underneath the gunpowder which gives it this odd fruity-sulphuric smell which i love. on the skin its 100x smokier, the smell of it kinda reminds me of how when you light a sparkler, the whole area around you starts to smell like smokey metallic sulphur. once it starts to dry down a little that creamy vanilla comes back around and its sooooo delicious. definitely too heavy for summer even though the smell of reminds me of a summer night

Sniffed this at the store and immediately picked up the whole discovery set. Bastille clearly has a unique and refreshing take on fragrance. 14 Juillet is a wonderful take on a scent that's supposed to smell like fireworks or firecrackers. It adds a peppery zing to the citrus and vanilla that persists with the tonka bean base note. The tangerine in the opening is nice and fresh, but doesn't linger for too long, leaving us with a nice smokiness with hints of vanilla. I like this a lot!

One of my most unique fragrances in my collection. it’s hard to pin down exactly what it reminds me of. I do love the firework smoke too note - to me, it specifically smells like those crackling fireworks that you throw on the ground. It’s warm, inviting and slightly sweet. Very welcoming. It reminds me of home. I only wish longevity was a bit better!

Like remembering summer as one big party. It’s so sweet and smoky, like a trippy haze. The tangerine I think is what really sets this one apart from anything else, because it’s got a nectarine quality, it’s nostalgic and whimsical. And thankfully it lasts so the party keeps going on and the sparks from the fireworks glisten on your cotton candy.

A pleasant surprise, very alluring clean smokiness to it, complimented by a fresh sweetness initially. Waiting to see how the smell develops over time.

I bought this one as soon as I got a sample. Surprised by the bad ratings/reviews. I think it's lovely. On opening I smell tangerine and smoke, but not fire smoke, more like (indeed) fireworks smoke. Then it's a little spicy not so sweet vanilla that is discrete but quite long lasting. All day long on my skin. The smoke scent stays in the background if you pay attention. Vanilla is natural smelling to me. Not synthetic To be honest it's nowhere as special or innovative than other Bastille perfumes but sometimes I just want a little cute frag easy to wear. i consider this one a vanilla you can wear in Summer.

I'll be honest, I bought the 15ml of this because I was born on July 14 and loved the idea of it. The firework accord had me nervous, but I got it on sale and was ok with just buying it for the bottle. It's actually really nice! The fruity, ambery vanilla is great and the firework accord seems to give it a toasted kind of edge, not quite like toasted marshmallows, maybe more like toasted sesame? It's resonating with me nostalgically for some reason, I might figure it out by the end of the day, but I'd recommend trying this. It's something unexpected.

Talk about your back yard bbq on Fourth of July with the sun is setting. From a French house this is pure America. The gunpowder note is there, and strong, on first spray. The dryer down is where the magic happens. The citrus and white flowers come forward in about 15 minutes. This is light enough to wear in the heat. The smokey vanilla is backgrounded by what I feel like is a light leather accord. Leans more masculine to me though.

It starts out as a sweet orange-scented play-doh on the verge of acidity and earthiness, and within an hour it moves to a vague gourmet note evoking meatiness and greasiness with a slightly metallic aftertaste. Kind of like when you scrape the rest of burnt risotto out of a pot or simmer a broth for a long time only to have it drown in a sweet, sour, broken tonka bean at the end... I don't quite understand this concept, it's not an outright ugly scent, but it's not for me. Weak sillage.

OMG, very realistic, creamy vanilla with a heavy dose of smoke and you could smell the sparks. Vanilla cake with firework candles. Can't think of anyone who would wear this but really nice creation.

I would wear any of Bastilles perfumes in a heartbeat. I find their collection to be refreshing, different, cosy and uplifting. This one is the only exemption. It smells like a cheap scent I’d have worn at 14, the vanilla in this is sticky and overly sweet, headache inducing. On me this smells like I’d have spooned a liter of vanilla sauce, felt a bit sick afterwards and sat at a bonfire where the neighbor kids threw their firecrackers in. I hate this.

I got a sample of this with an order from Bastille. On card I swear it smells like tuna salad, very nauseating. Not sure I can bring myself to put it on my skin.

By far the most headache-inducing, repulsive fragrance I have ever smelt. Legit rivals Secretions Magnifique in disgust. Unbelievably harsh and screechy.

This is a PURE cotton candy fragrance that is as real as it gets!! The gunpowder with vanilla creates the most realistic cotton candy note, and most importantly, not synthetic!!! probably the ONLY sugar inspired non synthetic note I've heard among many many many high end or mid segment perfumes. The image I get when smelling this perfume: imagine you are at a theatre or circus, standing right next to the cotton candy machine. the scent of freshly burned sugar, that is very strong but does not make you nauseous or heave headed. I appreciate this fragrance a lot, however it is too sweet for me to wear. Definally will purchase a smaller version for a special occasion, like a nightout.
