Un Deux Trois Soleil

EDIT: I ended up buying a full bottle. Performance from the bottle is outstanding (both projection & longevity) compared to the sample from the discovery set. Lasts all day and gets compliments. I ordered a discovery set from this house, and this is the one I was most excited to try, as I've been looking for an alternative to Luctor et Emergo (which is nearly impossible to get anymore in the USA). This starts out with a dominant almond accord and vanilla. The vanilla does have the slight play-doh effect. I also get some aromachemicals (specifically ambroxan), which generally gives me headaches, but it's not too bad/strong in this one. As it develops I get cherry, fizziness (I think from the grapefruit & ambroxan), tonka, and incense. I find the early stages quite like Rouge Smoking by BDK. As it dries down I do get the resemblance to Luctor et Emergo, but this lacks the unique hay accord that really rounds out that scent and makes it so unique. I tested both fragrances side by side, and they resemble each other but definitely are not dupes. I get more cherry in the Bastille, the Bastille has a warm spiciness that the LEE lacks, and the Bastille has noticeable incense. Additionally, I find the Bastille more synthetic smelling. However, this is the closest thing that I've found to LEE. I'm really disappointed with the performance of this one- it sits very close to the skin and has to be reapplied after a few hours. However, I'm still contemplating getting a bottle and just over-spraying and re-applying.

I expected this to smell like many other fragrances I have, but was pleasantly surprised. It does not smell like my other similar offerings, except Joy by Sarah Horowitz. This one, however, is powdery where this one is bright. I imagine this is due to the heliotrope and the Incense. I would even say this is better, though they are both nice! Great balance and warmth. I would agree that the almond stands out, but the olfactory orchestra behind it offers the perfect support. Well done!

Sweet, smokey vanilla. Very comforting, especially if you like incense. The opening is a bit sparkling, but I couldn't detect any specific notes - I guess it does tickle your nose with a bit of pepper. Then it goes straight into incense, which I absolutely love - on a bed of heliotrope and vanilla. Reminds me of Memoirs of a Trespasser before they reformulated. It's quite intimate on me, keeps close to the skin and disappears quite quickly (3-4 hours).

Smells like top quality marzipan and spicy peppery vanilla. Pepper disappears to let the tonka shines. It's delicious. You'll smell delicious :) FB worthy for sure. Yes it's another vanilla-almond fragrance but I find this one softer and it's not synthetic at all. Skin scent (like most Bastille fragrances) but lasts a while.

Honestly, I don’t think crazy projection would do this frag any good. I enjoy that it doesn’t wander. It’s almost as if it’s meant to lay low after that short-lived, effervescent pepper opening.

Beautiful Smells almost identical to Dans Paris by Celine Dans Paris is little bit fresher but these two are really close Hopefully this one have better performance (need to test few more times)

A Beautiful tonka just sweet enough, light, with a hint of spices and pepper and a « wood pencil » persistent that make it the perfect lazy afternoon perfume. Love!!!

Smells like a ball of playdoh that made a wish to be a real almond

Beautifully blended resinous vanilla and heliotrope that ends up smelling like the most realistic play-doh. The almond here is strong, and so are the incense and pink pepper. I can feel them transforming for the entire duration of the scent. If I were to not think about the notes separately and just compare Un Deux Trois Soleil to a feeling or a memory, it would be sitting in my room in the summer, surrounded by plastic dolls, while it was too hot to play outside. Childhood limbo. I really like this but it sometimes gives me a headache.

A fresh creamy vanilla almond. It that even possible in a scent? Not sure how they pulled this off but in my head I get an almond milk shake that might be a bit too thin but still smells amazing. Light enough for summer but will give you that cozy fall feel. Will probably layer with a stronger vanilla in the cooler months. As others have said, on the dry down it gives wood pencil shavings in the best way possible. Wear a beautiful white shirt or sweater and pair it with this. It’s clean and luxurious.

Pepper start turns to noticeably lactonic (milky marzipan), slightly acidic floral sunscreen that you apply when the sun is high in late summer. Longevity not good, originality too.

The opening reminds me of orgeat syrup. It has a play-doh effect which matches the childhood theme, but that doesn't last. Soon, the fragrance turns into a harsh scent, to me it smells like strawberry mixed with some aromatic herb (something like sage), and a bitterness in the background. I adore almond scents but to be honest I dislike this one.

I think it's the mixture of incense with florals that makes this smell like cough syrup to me. The same thing happened with Blanche Bete, so to me they smell very similar.

This has the same almond-smoky-fruity opening as the much coveted cult classic, People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo. It was always hard to get hold of in the UK, and now I feel like it's near impossible, so smelling this was a real 'ahah, jackpot!' moment. I wasn't looking for a smell alike, but the fact that it is immediately endears me to this scent. I have to say, Bastille seems like a great brand. They have an incredibly ethical approach and take extreme care to only use the safest ingredients. And the fragrances are real beauties - so very likeable and accessible whilst still feeling 'niche'. This one is a warm almond. I don't know whether my skin amps up the rich edible elements, but on me it isn't very obviously a summer fragrance but smells more like a cosy gourmand. The citrusy top notes make it feel clean and lighter than some almonds fragrances, but it's still nicely cakey, like an almond finger. I guess that is the 'snack' part of the perfume's description. Really nice.

Spicy play-doh! It's a strangely alluring scent, but the longevity and sillage are typical of all-natural perfume brands in that they perform well below the level I personally expect. Which is a shame in all honesty.

The first spray is spicy and peppery, but it wears down quite nicely. I'm surprised by the comments on its longevity because i feel like it barely lasts a few hours on me...

Reminds me of play-doh, plasticky and kind of salty.
